A BOV has no bearing whatsoever on how much boost you can run. All the BOV does is allow pressurized air to leave the charge pipes so that it doesn't go back through the turbo. Now, that air can either be vented to atmosphere (that's where you get that woosh sound) or, put back into the intake BEFORE the turbo inlet. But having a BOC does not mean that you can run more boost. But it also doesn't increase HP by itself.

If you are talking about the yellow thing its not a Blow Off Valve it a filter atached to the valve cover vent hose because he has a aftermarket intake which doesnt have a nipple for the hose to attache to .
