What a silly first comment. Everyone sings Dylan's songs better than Dylan, anyone who ever covers his songs makes them better. This one's no exeption, so raw, so badass !! I love the last minute of guitar at the end, could make a whole new song just from that
during the scene where cate blanchett's character is having a breakdown writing random nonsense on a typewriter with pills and magazines scattered everywhere. it's a great scene, very appropriate.
@baxterbather I meant albumwise lol. But I agree with the appropriateness of the scene. Especially cause Iggy himself had a bit of a pill/drug problem. Though I think Iggy was more on the heroin side of things. The book i read on him mostly talks about heroin so.
VisionsOfDylan is right but the cover and the Stooges are great and this cover sounds excelent. There are some other awesome Dylan covers from the 13 Floor Elevators and the Grateful Death.
i sually hate when other atists make dylan covers, but this time, i am at least happy tha iggy did the civer and not somebody else that would butcher it.
@RumAndCodeine well it defined how bob played the song later on. i would say they do it equaly good in their own ways, but still some live versions of dylan i think is better than, jimi's,
@VisionsOfDylan PF Iggy & The Stooges Ballad of Hollis Brown "(Dylan Cover)" "oh sorry "(Dylan Cover)" mate are you fucked up in the head right?? whats your point to say that bob dylan is better? i dont care
@mariosthepunk hey man, if you don't care man, why did you make that statement. he can say and think what he wants man, without having your opinion thrown at him.
@VisionsOfDylan dylan can't always sing no matter of how important and talented he is. anyway I like this version a lot more, i dig it so much. thanks x
@VisionsOfDylan i'll bet you it ain't a dylan's original, some talented black lost in time wrote it. And if there's a good version it got to be Nina's
Wow man when in hell was this recorded? I think I have heard it all now! Matter of fact not to knock it(its jammin)sounds like it was recorded in hell.lol. Anyone know who is playing on this? I think I hear Dylans guitar in there, but it paints an awful picture thinking of IGGY trying to jump all over the place to this!!! Just too unreal but thanks for sharing!
aha!! thanks so much for posting this, couldn't find it anywhere on itunes, and it's not even listed on the soundtrack on IMDB. a real classic gem from iggy and bob.
cool, i was going to make a video like this, you should post this as a video reply to the originals from bob dylan, just so people know about this great version
You can make a cover different but it is almost impossible to better a cover

i like this version better because it less coherent and mirrors the mental breakdown of songs subject and also because generally sounds bleaker? lol
