  • Long live strong, black, courageous men like Ali, love this movie. Free Howard Morgan, another strong, black courageous warrior, you will be free brother. Trust in God.

  • much love - a white nobody from maine who is ready for some real political change by eliminating both 'parties' through social consciousness.

  • ''Brother, you do your best to see, they dont put their hands on anybody else... again''

  • Good film, but it's hard to focus on Muhammad Ali when you're watching Will Smith.

  • Brother, you do your best to see, they dont put their hands on anybody else.... again

  • Aww yeaah, I said aww yeeaah!! I love it!! :D

  • Wonder how many hours Will pounded the weights and boxing bags in the gym to blow up to heavy weight status in this film?

  • Hey guys I have a question: Can someone tell me where I could find Malcolm X´ speech from 4:00 to 5:09 THANK YA

  • Watch this movie before every fight!!! Especially this scene. Also love the scene when he's running in Zaire!!! Love Paul Rodriguez in this film. A great cast altogether.

  • the movie could only go downhill from here...

  • I thinks Ali's so called "dark sides" might be overshadowed by the ENORMOUS "dark side" of the white man in America during that time. Did you see that dudes face on the newspaper? Ali never lynched anybody. This movie Rocks!

  • @Wardfolio Dark sides?...explain...

  • This movie is a JOKE. The action was so ridiculous. Will Smith is a fine actor, but you can not act Muhammad Ali. You can not be like him. The movie ''The Greatest'''(1977) is a movie where you also see Ali's dark sides. You see the truth about him. And guess who stars in it? Muhammad Ali plays himself, and he does it GOOD. Not a joke like Will Smith. That was a real Ali movie, this is nothing but a joke.

  • This guy reminds me of Ali like Jerry Seinfeld reminds me of Ali.

  • will smith is one of my favourite actor's

but nobody can 'act ' a fighter

The only man to be good enough for the Muhammed Ali role in the movie is Cassius Clay

  • @nachoman083 Dont insult the man by calling him by his Slave Name... He is Muhammed Ali The Greatest Fighter to grace this earth

  • This was one of his best movies. I clap everytime.

  • what´s the song? the title? please, i need it

  • @combatesdeboxeo David Elliot - Bring it on home to me

The original song was written by Sam Cooke.

  • @r4m0nbp thanks

  • This movie has great music. The music in the end is magical.

  • i love this opening, bad ass :D

  • the sport of kings

  • what is the exact name of this song??

  • Michael Mann = genius

  • I could literally watch this scene a million times in a row its that epic, legendary, amazing, astonishing and any other word that's similar to those.

  • love this song

  • when i saw the trailer for this 12 yrs ago i was like nah but will pulled it off quite nicely.

  • This version of the Sam Cooke classic is sung (exceedingly well) by David Elliott, the son of Dionne Warwick.

  • such a bad movie

  • wots is name this son 1:00?

  • sverige !!! wOOWW!!

  • liston looks like the original, but Ali looks like Will Smith on steroroids :) My third favorite Boxingfilm. 1. Rocky Balboa 2. Undisputed 3. Ali 4. Great White Hype 5. Rocky 2 Dokus: 1. Tyson 2. Last Round Chuvalo vs. Ali 3. When we were Kings 4. Facing Ali 5. Beyond the Glory: Mike Tyson
  • @BabyTua

you should watch "the fighter" a recent boxing movie, it's very good, though mostly focused on the private life of the boxer and his brother (it's a real story)

  • LOL, Will Smith's boxing is so crappy.

  • worst movie ever such a shame...disjointed sequences,,,crap

  • @sapientersisincere seems like you don't know a clue about directing, this movie is a masterpiece from a Master : Michael Mann.

  • Has to be my favourite start to a film, makes me want to get back into boxing

  • best regards to sam cook . BUt i just want to want to say this version of bring it a home from the guy in this movie i dont know who sing that (is it a remasterised version of sam cook or its an other ) because its the best bring it a home version i ever listened

  • @Ey3shi3ld remastered version of a live Sam Cooke performance

  • @Ey3shi3ld . the version that this is based off is on youtube. just search sam cooke, feel it live

  • very very gooooooood aliiii

  • That kid is from the Trigon commercial.

  • Ali and Ray, twin movies

  • Those glove they use here were like 16 oz gloves

  • I'd really like a copy of Elliot's version from this. The 2:30 recorded version from the soundtrack just doesn't compare.

  • mate thanks for this, i love the song at the start but cudnt find out what it was. THANK YOU

  • how can some one take a flim about ali and the flim not doing well, is that bad director or something ?????????

  • A man who stood in what he belived in, a man of peace and love

there' are great people in this world but nothing like Muhammed Ali

the greatest a living legend god bless Muhammed Ali

  • @MixTapeHomez the touch of a blind man,

    the vision of a death,

    boy that ali could move,

    takes away ones breathe ,

haaaa greatest of them all and im happy the greatest actor of this generation played his life biography :)

  • @calbo555 He he gotta agree Will Smith is one hell of an actor.

  • I love Sam Cooke; I love Muhammad Ali; & Will Smith isn't too bad either.

    Thanks for posting this!

  • @Chessahollic99 That is not Sam singing for sure!!!

  • @SamCorNat Yeah it is. In the opening the background announcer says "give it up for sam cooke"

  • @allab1rebmun yes but it isnt actually sam cookes voice

  • I'd love it if they made a sequel to film the second part of Ali's career and future as a public figure would have been a nice ending.

  • MUHAMMAD ALI IS THE GREATEST PERSONALITY IN THE HISTORY OF THE MODERN WORLD!

  • MUHAMMAD ALI IS THE GREATEST PERSONALITY IN THE HISTORY OF THE MODERN WORLD!

  • a christian father jewish cornerman italian cornerman his best was white howard cosell and he was muslim PERFECT

  • @djamandarose FAIL, Mars is a great singer, but he has no soul.

  • @djamandarose FAIL, Mars is a great singer, but he has no soul. There is no comparison between Bruno Mars and Sam Cooke.

  • @plutoisacomet i think david elliot does a great job on this one!

  • @plutoisacomet or David Elliot who deserves a lot more credit for doing all of Sam Cooke's songs for Ali

  • @plutoisacomet i bet u have no idea how right you are.

  • @plutoisacomet The fucks that got to do with anything?

  • He really looks like a young Ali, it's crazy.

  • Legends never die.

  • 7:55 a nikon digital slr in the 60's? wow

  • I shoot film professionally, and the camera work in this film is visually stunning!

  • the name is "Bring it on home to me" and this scene is a real scene of the Harlem Square Club on 1964, you can find it on youtube.

  • This video pumps me up to train

  • im glad they put subtitles it really helped with all the complex dialogue in this scene...

  • Happy Birthday Sam Cooke! =p

  • @2zion13 pls what's the name of this song? is so perfect!

  • got to say will smith was really huge in this movie and he played his role very well

  • rumble young man rumble

  • whos it meant to be singing at the start?

  • @MrLewyboy Sam Cooke

  • @MrLewyboy It's meant to be the king of Soul, Mr. Sam Cooke!

Of course it's not Sam Cooke in the film since he died in 1964. The song is supposed to portray Sam's gig at The Harlem Square, you can find it here on youtube. Search for "Bring it on home to me live at harlem square" and you'll find it. It's an amazing song.

  • RIP Ron Silver as Angelo Dundee

  • PAUSE AT 3:13 DOES THAT LOOKS LIKE RANDY FROM THE WIRE?

  • the opening scene is my favourite scene of the movie... love it!

  • One of the best movies i've ever seen in my life. Perfectly portraited, by one of the best actors i have ever had the honor to admire, in the movie about one of the most admired, beloved, respected, decorated, and desired fighters in human history.

This movie, is all perfection. I just - love it.

  • Filmaking at its very best

  • Need proof that Michael Mann is the foremost filmmaker of his generation?

Check out the moment where Bundini starts talking - the rhythmic interplay between Jamie Foxx's voice, Sam Cooke's song and Will Smith's skipping rope is utterly breathtaking.

  • @DCaple0013 Back then he was really thin. I must say he's also wide!

  • Jesus. It's scary how much Mario Van Peebles resembles Malcolm X. Damn.

In fact, a LOT of the actors look like their characters. I'm surprised at how much Will could pull off looking like The Greatest himself.
