  • A very humble winner indeed, how many top chefs in the world can really achieve that kind of humbleness. A great chef indeed.

  • little known fact. the author judge had 13 orgasms during the tasting.

  • HAHAHAHAHA! 4:07 indeedeedoo???? i swear the people doing the dub work on this show just make shit up

  • @lazer126 well spotted!

  • Click on 3:43 a few times. bwahahaha

  • chen's mom looks so adorable, she makes me think of my grandmom ^__^

  • you wanna know the recipe? take a trip to china, trust me... its VERY well worth it, it WILL probably be a life changing trip for ur taste buds, knowledge, appreciation, and finally outlook on the whole culture.

  • chen's english cookbook has the shrimp with chili sauce recipe

  • I've watched a ton of these Iron Chef Japan competition-- I've never seen the Iron Chef lose once. What gives? I thought the challenger should have won this round.

  • @muckraker87 There are a few...

I seem to recall Battle Anglerfish

  • @jacktheripped Watch Battle Piglet :)

  • @muckraker87

Watch the Pork Belly Battle between Liang Shuqing and Iron Chef Chen. Chen also lost to his first two female challengers.

  • @muckraker87 well, you should keep watching more, i've seen them lose twice in two days watching.

  • that guy never talk that much before...

  • No shame..the food speaks to us all!!!

  • I know someone will make fun of me but I kinda got teary eyed. I think Chen wasn't really focusing on the family name and keeping tradition going. i think he was actually wanting to represent his coach and make sure that his coach knew that what he instilled in him was not taken in vain, but it accomplished that for which it was taught. That's why the challenger I think was more proud of Chen winning than Chen. thank you for this one. it will go in history...

  • I have to agree, I mean this wasn't really a "battle" so to speak, it was more of a historic moment for Chen, his mentor, and his family.

  • I teared up a little, too. I like this with most of the Iron Chefs, but especially Kenichi loves what he does so much. It's not a job, it's a profession, it's his life, his legacy, and his family's legacy. It's so moving, it's really cool.

  • Well done Chen....you made your father very proud!

  • I need to find that recipe for Prawns and Chili sauce! That dish is Godly!

  • hahaha,,i am from Sichuan, or Szechuan as they spell it, but all stir-fry of sichuan have the base of chilli bean sauce(郫县豆瓣酱),Chopped dry paper, sugar, chopped garlic, ginger, sugar(for colour mainly), and Szechuan paper(small black balls)....Heat oil up to high temp, put dry red paper and sichuan paper in, when it fragrant ,put chili sauce, ginger, sugar, stir it, wait for the smooth red colored soup, put garlic, and then you can begin to fry whatever you want! XD Enjoy.

  • Haha. The chick was so over dramatic at3:43

  • It must be great for a master to see his apprentice to exceed his skills. :,)

  • epic

  • What was the score?!

  • here, there is only 3 tasters, so the verdict is judged by the votes of the tasters.

Later on, there will be 4 tasters, so if it is 2-2, the verdict will be judged by points.

  • Chen you have brought your father great honor!

  • best.episode.ever.

  • such a great and emotianal battle.

  • Chen kenichi is the best!!!!my favourite iron chef for sure!!!

  • Oh, forgot to add. I think this is the first time I didn't want to slap the novelist for his comments.. he was actually very complimentary for one of the only few times.

I thought Judge Kishi was fine, she's one of the best and fair judges on the show.

  • Aw, such a GREAT competition! I think this battle will be one of my favorites for the ages. Really awesome Chinese dishes on both ends.. I loved the Papaya dish, that was almost like a dessert. But the cabbage-shrimp mayo dish and the spicy shrimp.. Mmm. Probably tasted amazing.

Go Chen! His expression at the end said it all, he was probably so grateful and relieved. Thanks again Archo.

  • i want to try the prawn in chili sauce

  • yeah. i really liked this one and thx 4 uploading them...

  • one of my fav matches

  • anyone know where I can watch Hong Kong special or Beijing Special?

  • You're not likely going to be able to watch it, at least not on the computer, because neither of them were aired in the US, which makes it even more harder for anyone to find. My best bet is take a trip to Japan and look for it on TV if you can, because I have seen a few that weren't aired here in the US before, such as Wine as the theme ingredient.

  • chen kenichi was my favorite iron chef..i just like the way he cooks and style his dishes better than the other 3 iron chefs..saikai..is also good..

  • Chen's cooking style is exciting, the others are rather plain

  • the older lady was annoying, but the battle was great. the guy in the middle is a bit overwhelming. he kept complementing everything.

  • she's been a renown food critic for decades... she knows what she's talking about.

  • That novelist is hardcore flamboyant

  • The reason there was no scoring was because there were only three judges. This was the way it was originally. When they got to four and five judges, the scores were announced.

  • the novelist sounds gay

  • They skipped the scoring! Was it done on purpose to prevent embarassment?

  • Is there really a dog battle or your just pulling my chain

  • he's pulling your chain

  • God every time I hear Kishi I want to shoot the woman in the face

  • With the judges I think the ones who try to hard to exactuate the food (if that's even a word) don't know what they're doing, where as the ones who just simply taste the food are more honest in their opinion.

  • it's not a real word, no.

  • Thanks for looking it up

  • u prolly meant accentuate

  • YEA GO CHINESE!!!

  • Great episode. I loved every minute of it. Chen is a great chef.

  • i love that look on Chen's face at the end. You could clearly see he was talking to his father then, "For you Dad". Great.

  • Yeah, that was what I saw too. I love Chen Kenichi to bits.

  • not really..he's always like that...lol

  • that novelist.

every single time i see that guy i get so annoyed.

  • i think he's great. fobe.
