  • damn i love this pedal

  • Cold shot by Stevie Ray Vaughan.

  • As Jim Root says:" The Rotovibe is an un-sung pedal" I couldn't agree more!!

  • does anyone know what does he play on 02:08 FUUU- i cant find it in my fu**ing memory :D

  • @FrankoPerry It kinda sounds like dani california by red hot chili peppers, but not excactly.

  • @FrankoPerry sounds sorta like Dani California lol

  • @FrankoPerry

Yeah the other two replies are incorrect (although it kinda sounds like it). It is actually Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Baby (New Rising Sun)". 100% positive. Great track, look it up.

  • They are getting harder and harder to get on ebay......

  • lovely pedal with this floyd beginning song

  • what song does he play at 5:00 ?

  • What is the technology underlying this pedal? Is it a phaser? BBD delay? Digital modelling?

  • ebay is pretty much the only place to find em now.

  • BADGE - Eric Clapton, yeahhhhh

  • Brain Damage

  • The only thing i don't like about this pedal is that it isn't true bypass

  • @SC86Canuck

    Yep. Screw Dunlop.

  • @SC86Canuck

It's buffered so just run it at the front like a wah.

  • Around 5:00 when you go for the phasery tone with the Les Paul, where was the intensity knob cranked to? That's exactly the type of tone I'm looking for with this type of pedal.

  • so it not a wah

  • @Babyface6200 nope

  • i want this!

  • Are the rotovibe and the univibe discontinued? Cant find it anywhere...

  • @Elsgarden found both just by typing it their names into google and clicking on the shopping tab

  • JIMI HENDRIX ~ DAVID GILMOUR ~ JERRY CANTRELL , that's why i've owned 2 of theese pedals since 2001. LOVE my Rotovibe !!!

  • @jamycavero cool dude!

  • @jamycavero where and for how much do u get one of these i cant find tem anywhere!!!!

  • @jamycavero

I didn't know Cantrell used 'vibes. XD Sweet!

  • @jamycavero

    you forgot jack white

  • Cold Shot!

  • Dark Side of The Moon FTFW

  • so what is the differcne between ROTOVIBE and univbe pedal? same sound but other design to control the sound?

  • I find it that with some vibrato pedals.. well it just sounds like a phaser

  • Pink Floyd!

  • soooooooooooo THIS is how Jimmy V does it............. :D

  • Zakk Wylde love this pedal!!!

  • Jimi's Hey Baby!!!! YEAH!!!

  • This guy plays damn good!

  • Comment removed

  • Nice Frampton at the end Bro

  • Hey ppl!! I'm in dilemma, please tell help me with my choice : Dunlop Uni-Vibe, or Dunlop Rotovibe???

  • @InfinityTracer depends. they both sound a bit different. have you tried them both?

  • @InfinityTracer Rotovibe

  • @InfinityTracer: Zakk Wylde knows best- go with the rotovibe :)

  • @InfinityTracer Dunlop Rotovibe and Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe 2. Both have different sounds. Dunlop univibe is grabage

  • Magnificent pedal with 100 possible setups from Hendrix to SRV

  • heeey baby... where do you coming from!!

  • 2:07 HEY BABY!!! kickkassssss !

  • BRING ROTOVIBE BACK IN STOCK

  • At 04:00 it sounds like the Sponge Bob Theme :D

  • badge!

  • yay "brain damage"

  • What is that gorgeous song at 4:00???

  • This pedal needs to be offered in stereo.

  • Brain Damage and Do you feel like we do...awesome demo

  • When is this badboy back in stock?

  • zeppelin?

  • Great job on Hey Baby!

  • I'm planning on buying this, the Malekko Analog Delay, and a Boss Volume/Expression pedal :D!!!! Once I get the money from selling my PS3, SHIT WILL GO DOWN.

  • @MigelMeUp good choice,but selling ps3 is bad bad

  • @svenzia I have no need for it and personally believe that it's a waste of time :P

  • whats a good setting an Jerry Cantrell song like god am or bargain basement howard hughes

  • a univibe type is the next pedal im looking for. sorry for dumb question but ive been looking at the dunlop univibe , i really like the aqua vibe but they are very expensive , sooo why would i choose this rotovibe over a univibe ??? im with mmike below . please help!! lol

  • If you had to pick one Uni-Vibe like pedal under $200, aiming to get the Hendrix or SRV effect, what would you choose???

  • Zakk Wylde FTW!

  • also i bet you guys didnt know this BUT. this is also the pedal of JACK WHITE!!!! with The Raconteurs that is :)

  • @kite3350 they use it in the dead weather too, sooooo sick

  • pink floooyd

  • sick jimi playing

  • Sooooo sexy.

  • That's nice

  • shoulda played black whole sun

  • BADGE!

  • I have a Dunlop UniVibe, which I highly recommend. It has a bypass so your tone does not get sucked out. However, the Roto sounds great!

  • one question: how to switch al that damn dunlop pedals off, without chaning the tone??? you always need to shift the pedal if your riffs ends in toe up position.

  • The first thing I thought about was the lunatics on my grass.

  • @JimmyGuitarist those damn dwarfs smoking my grass!

  • Comment removed

  • sweeeeeeeet

  • holy damn i gotta have this pedal

  • this pedals giving me drain bamage

  • PGS, IS THIS TRUE BYPASS?

  • @The1970sInfatuate he said it has buffered switching

  • love it... i have an original the jh-4s and swear by it, its the best pedal i own

  • any of you guys know if this pedal works with bass?? be really helpful if someone was to tell me.

  • Great demo; awesome sounds AND playing. Nice shoes. Would this work to get the lead sound in Led Zeppelin's 'Wanton Song'?

  • Hey Baby! One of my favourites by Jimi, I was looking for a pedal to emulate that sound, this sounds really good

  • Would this pedal be any good for playing "Dazed And Confused?" I'm wondering if I should get one of these instead of a Script Phase 90.

  • @The1970sInfatuate i'm wondering that too

  • will this do it for pantera songs?

  • @Joeymann603 Pink Floyd. Darkside Of The Moon, album, song; Braindamge, written by Roger Waters. Check out the whole album, it's great.

  • @AllBluesCat thanks man

  • I own the dunlop univibe. Do you have any idea whether there is a sound difference between rotovibe and univibe rather than foot controllability.

  • Hey Baby !!! Not you Peter.... Jimmy ! I worked that up years ago & still love it. One of the most under-rated Hendrix tunes that shows off his genius with a simple lick -and a killer intro. Off Rainbow Bridge, if anybody is listening. Yeah, I got this pedal. It sounds great, but I'd like to wire the side speed knob to another pedal and the chorus/vibe pedal down switch to another foot switch. Cheers.

  • would this be good for nirvana tunes?

  • within the first 5 seconds, i hear brain damage.... and almost cry at the beauty. i love you ProGuitarShop :D

  • @trumpetguitarguy may i ask what is braindamage .. is a song??? i also like what he plays and just want to know if it is a song

  • Love the Hendrix rendition! And Frampton Comes Alive daaamn!

  • ive always wondered, what do you guys do with pedals and other gear once you've demo'd them?

  • @screwdriva Probably sell them discounted off their website

  • @screwdriva well they are a shop so its likely they sell them lmao!

  • I love this effect with very low speed on my clean tone. Sounds great and really adds depth to the tone. Great demo.

  • this pedal is definately an unsung hero... i use one of these on bass... i have it sitting after my distortion ... (video coming soon)...i love this pedal.. it rules .. .it is an absolute mainstay on my pedalboard

  • I've had this pedal for about 15 years and it's the only thing that has never left my pedalboard :)

  • "The lunatic is on the grass"

  • Sounds awesome.

  • i love the pitch vibrato setting! this is such a great demo for a great pedal!

  • Is this the pedal Dave Navarro uses in RHCP's Walkabout ??

  • @driverofdoom

Yeah it is, It was in his live rig too for the whole One Hot Minute tour.

  • PINK FLOYD!! dude these demos are all amazing.. great song choices and really well thought out demo's, so concise and they've really helped me choose some products.. thanks

  • i think i got some brain damage from this awesome pedal

  • @xRAKDOZx preaching to the choir. LOL

  • @xRAKDOZx i see what you did there!

seriously though i want this thing pretty bad

  • kinda like frampton at 4:57...i LIKE IT

  • @downchild87 if you want the vibe sound, get it. A phaser can only get so close.

  • the red means the chorus is on green vibe

  • its too expensive!!!!

  • much tone suckin on this bad boy?

  • Dig the "Hey Baby" off Rainbow Bridge. Thought I was the only one to work that one up. My favorite JH. Coolest intro as well as solo. I've had one of these pedals for many years. Just thought I'd see what other sounds folks are getting. Cheers.

  • oh Vibe stands for "Vibrato" all this time i thought it meant phase-like

  • @joshie4330 - Thank you! i really like the sound of this vibe (and i really like hendrix's sound) but i already have a small stone phaser...do you think it's a good idea if i buy the rotovibe, even if i have this phaser?

  • A vibe is basically a phaser but with a light creating the pulse. Throw a phaser under water and that's the sound of a vibe. You can also think of it like this...Hendrix and Vibe or EVH and Phaser.

  • @joshie4330 his intensity isn't all the way up

  • Hi everyone! Nice Demo!!! can i ask you one question! can you tell me the difference between a vibe pedal and a phaser? thank you very much!

  • castles made of sand?

  • Pink Floyd ftw

  • what's the diference between rotovibe and fulltone mini deja vibe??

  • Pink Floyd sweet!

  • wath cable is that?, look nice, somebody hnow?

  • @querof It's a Core X2 cable. They sell them at PGS in 12 and 20 foot lengths and in DIY kits.

  • I love this demos. Because of this i want a rotovibe xD. You should make a demo of the cry baby from hell

  • Frampton at the end!

    Really nice pedal

  • Finally a good demo of this pedal. I have it on my board!

  • thanks for finally posting a good review of this pedal. Now do a review of the variphase pedal!

  • FRAMPTON!!!

  • Its a phaser .....

  • Did I hear a glimpse of Cold shot :O)

  • i never would have demoed one of these thinking it wouldnt be versatile enough. now i want one!

  • You guys should totally do a demo of the Dunlop Jerry Cantrell Wah, that would be so cool!

  • You guys should totally do a demo of the Dunlop Jerry Cantrell Wah, that would be so cool!

  • @pluggedteddy love jc

  • @pluggedteddy yeah do a Jerry Cantrell review.

I wish i could afford his wah. i bought a classic today and have been playing Alice in Chains all day;)

  • That riff at 3:00 has to be one of the coolest things I've ever heard.

  • @Sp3ci41K Seriously! It sets my mind ablaze with awesome ideas and makes me want it just for that!

  • PINK FLOYD IN THE INTRO!!

  • 9v dc is what the pedal requires to run. It takes either a 9v battery or can use a 9v dc power supply like the typical 9v dc supply you can buy from a music store so you don't have to rely on batteries.

  • Cream - Badge!! :D

Jimi Hendrix - Hey Baby new rising sun

with some improvisation a la ANDY :D

  • i would replace my wah with this ... i know, two different things, but i love this!

  • Kickass video Andy! Dunlop rotovibe for life!

  • Oh, twas simple twist of fate!

  • Mhmm folk

  • does it use a photocell?

  • Any chance of a clean demo too? That'd be great. It's certainly one of those pedals that you'd have to test yourself to see if you really did like it.

  • @DeadWhiteButterflies The "Watery" section is clean and the opening is only lightly driven. I think vibes always sound better with a little tube dirt. That's my opinion anyway.

  • am i the only one who noticed Andy said it accommodates battery or 9v DC operation? they are the same thing!

  • @joshscus 9v DC was referring to a power supply.

  • @washbender95 DC is direct current which means a battery. a power supply would AC. unless he means an internal OR external battery

  • @joshscus An AC adapter converts AC mains to DC, thus providing a DC power supply. Effects pedals generally run off a 9v DC power supply although 18v is also sometimes used. If you have any Boss pedals look at the base and it lists the AC adapters suitable for different voltages to deliver a 9v DC power supply.

  • @joshscus I'm pretty sure he's just referring to an AC adapter.

  • They are AC adapters but there are many different types with many different output voltages. The wrong one could fry your pedal. It needs to have an output voltage of 9v dc.

  • i have this pedal and it doesn't sound this good :(

  • Great demo of a pedal I found very disappointing:S Phenomenal gadget on paper, but I found the tone in "chorus" mode pretty anemic, and the switch being at the toe-down/fast position makes its functionality drop significantly. If only Fulltone's Deja' chassis design was like this... and the cost was a little more affordable:P:)

  • Andy, you've got great taste in music and you also do some great gear demos! Keep it up PGS!

  • hahaha and some frampton at the end there!

  • eclipse by pink floyd and cold shot by stevie ray vaughan

  • Love it, but a little out of my price range right now. Doesn't Robin Trower use this?

  • @robibm2003 No, he uses a Fulltone Deja Vibe. The only guitarist I know that uses a Rotovibe is Jerry Cantrell and that was a few years back.

  • @FloyDZeD Kenny Wayne Shepherd has one on his board too.

  • Brain Damage! Yes!

  • This is one sexy pedal!

  • shitttpedal

  • this pedals got to be the secret weapon of Jim Dunlop Pedals. i bought one afew years ago before i could really appreciate it and when i learnt how to use it porperly a year ago, i now use it on afew different songs live.

Great Demo Guys you really know how to show off the best the gear you stock

  • @Splittail01 Thank you very much!

    -PGS Crew

  • brain damage

  • those are simple shoes aren't they

  • Love the PF song in the beginning. So this is basically a tremelo pedal?

  • @fizzgigify No it's a univibe pedal.
