  • holy shit this is a stellar track

  • A/// D/// A/// D/// A/// F/// D/// E/ G/

Thats the chords if you wanna jam on it, the A minor pentatonic will work just fine.

If you want more notes to play with use the A natural minor scale.

If you want even more flavour then play A Dorian over the A&D chords, A minor (F lydian) over the F and A harmonic minor (Phrygian dominant) over the E&G.

Have fun jamming and OUTLINE THOSE CHORDS!!!!!!!!

  • Bloody hell, that was awesome to jam to. Cheers! :3

  • YES, i killed my e-string at the end of the song! :D love these tracks man

  • Damn id love to have 24 frets on my Les Paul when listening to this :) But anyways, awesome track. Anyone else who already broke like half a dozen g-strings while improvising to this? :D

  • first time i really used the 22th thread :D

  • epic lol great track dude

  • lots of fun with this one

  • it was amazing. thanx

  • That's better! Just soloed the stress out of my system! Thanks!

  • beast backing track :D feels good to solo like this :)

  • i seriously just fucked up my high e no joke just a comment about how sik this back in track is

  • Wichscales i could use, beyond the C major and A minor?

  • @cortx2lh A little late but the pentatonic

  • Thats Epic man! You can get some sick solo's on that!

  • very nice backing track !!! awesome !!

  • dude, do think about making a complete song of yours...

I think god has been generous with you! :)

  • awesome, thanks. you made me take my guitar out of my closet !

  • nice backing track :D

  • great backing track

  • cool! much better than trying to come up with a loop...

  • this is great stuff. helps me alot learning the C major scale!

  • This is Am not C major.. I know they are the same notes but its a bad habit to treat them as the same..

  • @get2vivek C scale is the Am scale. the Aeolian mode of any major scale is the relative minor, which means they are exactly the same scale

  • @get2vivek jajajajaja you have too much way to learn dude! Am scale is C major scale them are the same !! you asshole

  • @othon1994 pls.....they are not the same...they have the same notes...they are relative major and minor...minor gives a sad melodic feel while a major gives u a happy feel

  • @karthiksank642 i know it!! and i know too the diference between play one of the other ! thanks!

  • @othon1994 Tu eres quien se equivoca, la escala de am tiene las mismas notas que la de c mayor por ser su relativa menor, pero no es lo mismo.

  • 32 people like justin bieber!!!

  • great !!!!

  • fucking amazing. this is the kind of track you dont think about anything at all and just play a great solo

  • i banged my head just cuz of the backing track! i must say if this was the 80's time of gnr and acdc id say this would be a hit with a solo , rythem :D

  • I needed dat I forget how fuckin good I was

  • I want this to be a real song, it sounds so cool :)

  • i freaking DARE you to tap in your solo

  • this is probably the easiest backing track to play over, good stuff.

  • This is fuckin awesome. Thx dude, sounds better than my solo lol.

  • if this is easy for you, you should partner with a lyricist.. I studied "The Craft and Business of Songwriting" in college. It's tough. and you have something to work with. Nice stuff.

I was wondering what program you use for recording. looking to buy one. not sure which to buy. any advice? thanks

  • if this is easy for you, you should partner with a lyricist.. I studied "The Craft and Business of Songwriting" in college. It's tough. and you have something to work with. Nice stuff.

  • Mr. Creamer music. Thanks for all you do. I get one day off a week and i don't drink. this is much more fun to me. thanks again!

  • Ive been playing for the last 8 years, completely self taught never had a lesson. Now i feel ive hit a brick wall in my playing, im playing the same shit over and over, im not progressing. Is this normal? I feel retarded for sure. Im going to get some books out and start studying coz ive never done that only played by ear and feel. Can anyone give me some idea's how to break out of this plateau... thanks

  • @fIRsTRATmAN hmm i would say listen to alot of the music you like and transcribe it that will make your playing influenced but not imitating their sound also dont just study the guitar parts also listen and try to transcribe vocal melodies and horn section or piano parts as those sections carry alot of the songs feeling and mood

  • best backing track ever

  • yes, killler track. So much fun and so easy to get into.

  • fuckin amaizing and the solo i played along does the sound I've an fen. Telecaster sunburst like the vid

  • this makes me sound pro when i improvise XD

  • Well my high E didnt like that haha

  • Was this on a guitar magazine backing track CD? It sounds familiar.

  • nice backing

    like it

    thanks

  • Fuckin awesome :D

  • if you need any backing tracks, check out

    lots of FREE downloads

  • Fucking good.... Can you give me the tab of this backing???? I love it ;)

  • from really bad to bad at improvising in only one day!

  • @guitaroplayer Watch for the roots in the scale you're playing, that'll be a good start! Try ending on the roots, and maintaining the rhythm is the most important thing of all.

  • Nice backing track, but i like more training improvise in the ending of Stairway to Heaven.

  • REALLY GOOD

  • I've had the best jam out I've had in a long time. ;D

  • I have spent two years self-teaching. Spent one hour with my fried who taught me basic pentatonics, minor and major and I feel like I am about 10000000000x better. All I want to do now is learn as much theory as possible, I feel such a moron but its importance has been completely understated to me in the past. Can anyone recommend some good resources to start with?

  • @123412341234het

hit up bittorrent for some guitar lesson videos, and books.

guitar grimoire was one of the better tools for me. michael angelo batio has some good arpeggio videos.

  • @123412341234het The Heavy Guitar Bible. book by Richard Daniels. It's in most music stores. Has theory, chords, scales, breaks the fretboard down into easy to understand pieces. and goes even into what chord progressions work together for song writing and how to solo around chords. Of all the music books I own thats the only one that doesn't leave my desk. Also look up guitarjamz com and the guitarjamz vids on youtube. EXCELLENT instruction.

  • @DarrenTK128 Thank you :)

  • Great! But the Soundquality..... hrmpf!

  • After 2 years of playing this brought something out in me I had never seen. I think it helped me find a bit of my musical soul.

  • best backing track ever.

  • Played a guitar solo about it..It´s just fucking awesome man ;)!!

  • what song is this or what song is this based on? i defonately recognize the riff from somewhere

  • @20inchsuperman its the devil and me-clutch. love that song

  • Still one of my favorite youtube backing tracks.

  • the gold, it's in the...

  • A minor and C major aren't the same! In this song it is a A minor chord having in mind the last notes being quinta (5 notes interval) of A and E being played together 3-4 times in the end of the song.

  • @LucaTurilli89 A is C's Relative Minor...so you can play the C major scale with the A minor pentatonic to kick ass.

  • @musictakeslife well said

  • @MrBastageicehole Thank you:)

  • can i play d dorian or e phrygian over this????

  • @igvu92 Don't worry about what you CAN play over it, just play what sounds good to you on it!

  • @igvu92 Of course, you can play this scales... It's simple, because D dorian and E phrygian have the same notes, but they start with another (2nd and 3rd step ;))

So, don't think about weird names, use "major" or "minor" and all things will be easy ^^

  • try some e phrygian stuff to kick your soloing in another direction

  • Harmonicas fun with this

  • @wackyoneone Wait. Like guitar or the REAL harmonica? WOW!

  • @zeron82411 Real harmonica dude

  • the backing was better than the solo i played along with it

  • @CR4ZYxBOE LMFAO. Happens to me all the time

  • @CR4ZYxBOE Yeah, i gave up with the solo halfway through and started trying to learn the backing instead..

  • I played the flesh fork to this!! It was fucking awesome!!

  • 0:00 repeat button

  • Really good track great fun to improvise over.

  • Play A minor(5th fret) for most the song then jump to C major for MASSIVE DAMAGE.

  • 25 people couldnt improvise

  • @chaledos1 O rly? 0.o

  • I've only just learnt to improvise, ha its so easy but it sounds badass!

  • i played it with tapping and power chords sounds cool

  • YOU MUST GIVE ME THE BACKING TABS!!! PLEASE

  • This the best backing track out there, great for jamming to

  • actually i played with this and it looks like A major...

  • The key is C the scales are C ionian, or G Mixolydian, F Lydian, it's all the same scale position, same notes. It has more to do with the chords you are playing them over.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrDrunken1 I tack it back I hadn't realised that the third chord was F natural. That is the only difference between the two keys..... So yes your are correct. I must have not landed on an F# the entire jam. Although as I was playing E minor over it there would have been no F to conflict with it . That is why it would have sounded cool.....

  • fav backing track

  • YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love rock n roll cuz music these days is crap

  • maybe im wrong but c major doesn't really work ?

  • @dantheman500 Your not wrong mate the song is in the key G major/ E minor .Tis is an A dorian chord progression.Try G major all over the neck you will see.....

  • @Kris273 ha thnx...i've been playing guitar for almost like 7-8 years now, but never learned theory... getting the hang of it now but its sooo boring :)

thnx for the reply, was a bit confussed because at the top it says c major shoud be ok ...but its not :P

  • vaoww cool jam

  • Nice nice nice nice jam track,

  • 25 people failed at improving a solo!

  • this is my new favorite backing track, it sounds amazing if u combine a minor pentatonic, and the c major scale and its modes, especially a aeolian (Of course)

  • wish i knew theory :V

  • Great backing track, is there anyway to download it???

  • Aeolian sounds AMAZING with this track, mmmmm

  • @iceman10129 Actually it's more of a rock sound which is Dorian. Try A Dorian it sounds a little more rock style. Aeolian is ok, but is better reserved for darker sounds like metal.

  • ARGGGGGGGGHHH STOP TALKING THEORY MY PUNK MIND CANT TAKE IT!

  • boo!! i was expecting a video of this being played :-(

  • I played with harmonica, it was fucking awesome.

  • @olassatapahtuu harmonic scale?

  • @olassatapahtuu I would love to hear that!!!

  • Likewise

  • @olassatapahtuu Me too ^^

  • where can i download the d backin track? plz tell me. btw amazing!! :PPP

  • @WchiWa i can upload it for u to mediafire if u really want it hehe

  • @richogem i want the one in drop d plzzzzzz :)))

  • @WchiWa send me the link to it and ill upload

    \

  • 25 people couldn't solo to this

  • its nearly the same as my composition :d jeez, now u cant make an original song even , everythign is made , jeeeezzzuuusss!!!!! 3h of work goes to craper

  • Yer g major not C major

  • @sticktrix1 both can be played on this track

  • @richogem yer if you wanna play wrong notes go for it

  • @sticktrix1 no note is "wrong".

i understand what u mean and it works.

  • @richogem No note is wrong.. however if im comparing C major to G Major then there is wrong notes to play if you are to stick diatonic.

  • @sticktrix1 yes but when u play a G major *scale* on a C major backing track

the what youre playing is a C mixolydian or something no?

    i read something about that..

  • @richogem C Is the 4th degree of a G major scale so it would sound like C lydian if you played g major over c major track.

  • mmmm, it sounds to me like Gmaj

  • i don't give the shit for which scales i'm suppose to ..... but i'll tell you all onething pentatonic rocks hec yeah rock on people ..

  • i jammed in Am first then i went back and did it again in C, good plan you should too.

  • solo*

  • hey yall, checkout my slol over this track!.

  • "dude looks like a lady"

  • You got this from guitarbackingtrack...

  • would A aeolian mode work well with this?

  • @juersio Of course, it's the easiest scale to jam on

  • @ThePendrilMandril Okay , thank you very much... do you know of any other that would work well?

    Thanks.

  • awesome. I just uploaded one for A Dorian

  • Anybody has tab for this back track?

  • It's great to practice my Wah-Wah skills, i found out a very cool wah-wah riff that suits this backing track very well! Thanks a lot!

  • I'm having a really good time jamming with this track. I'd like to have the mp3, may I?

  • I find that an A major works pretty great over this track too. The progression can go either way.

  • you can use this scale because its easy but really cant move in all the fretts :(

  • i use the pentatonic scale on the 5th fret (improvising) and then i go 12 frets higher when i want to kick some ass

  • @slappingTHEfatties Exactly what i did too lol. Awsome backing track huh?

  • @slappingTHEfatties lol I enjoyed that comment.

  • @slappingTHEfatties yeah I do the same thing ( I also use most of the other modes of the Am penatonic and do them 12 frets higher when the ass kicking is needed

  • @slappingTHEfatties so in other words u chance your octave :D

  • @slappingTHEfatties dude thats just transposing the e minor pentatonic to an a minor pentatonic..

  • @slappingTHEfatties This is because you are using the natural minor initially then switching ( I assume you mean the 12th fret ? ) to the relative minor of G major . Which will make it sound sick! Good ears my friend

  • watch?v=9MKPcE_HQ8Y&feature=related great solo

  • @slappingTHEfatties or do c major pent and would maybe gve you a blues rock sound ?

  • @slappingTHEfatties lol ignore that thats a nooby mistake of me to make

  • @slappingTHEfatties hahahaha comment of the year!!!!!!

  • can't go wrong with this one

  • its in the key of c major right? So does this mean that we can only play the c major scale over it? Can anybody tell me what other scales can be played over this track which is in c major and how does that work. Help would be REALLY very appreciated. Please help , I am a newbie at this.

  • @devpunk93 you can play it in A minor...play it with the 5 forms of pentatonic scales, and play it hard :)

  • @devpunk93 a minor works well, as well as a tonne of modes in other keys, just keep tryin dif scales till ya find some ya like over it. theres no rules, as long as it sounds good.

  • this discussion is even more awesome than the backing track

  • @apitapi lol

  • Fucking great!

  • oh would you theory geeks stop arguing for the love of God!!!!

If it's a C major progression, you can play any bloody scale and it'll still be in C major!! If you play the chromatic scale it'll be a C chromatic scale no matter over which chord you play the notes because of the underlying progression which is in C!!!! When it comes to music, you judge things by saying if they sound good or not! Theory is a tool, not a set of rules! Now shut up and play yer guitar!

  • Comment removed

  • @FranLesPaul

For the love of God it's A MINOR. I agree, theory is a tool, but there ARE rules, we call these conventions. If i play a C E G, i cant call it a D major, that simple. Like this song you cant call C major. If you want to go ahead, maybe you can form a band with rchave, while you play a D major scale (calling it E minor) over his A minor progression (but calling it G major), rock on dudes!

  • @FranLesPaul

Haha well said. I've been trying to say i couldn't give a damn what it's called if it sounds good. And it does. Simple!

  • Why does A Aeolian not seem to work for me over this track? I am playing the C major scale starting and ending on A btw! This is reallyfrustrating, please someone help! :)

  • What is this whole modal discussion here? This tune is as tonal as can be. It's just a jam in A minor with switches to A major, so all you have to do is play A pentatonic minor/major/blues. If you cant handle the switch then play pentatonic neutral.

So for all the whiseguys here throwing around lydian, phrygian and god knows.

That's BS. There's just accidentals. Because you throw in a F sharp doesnt mean you play dorian.

And the title is wrong; it isnt C major AND a minor, only A minor.

  • @kicsimoe A minor is the same thing as C major. And so is D Dorian, E Phrygian, F Lydian, G Mixolydian, A Aeolian (Wich is another word for minor) and finaly B Lokrian scale. Not so sure about the lokrian actually, if it's B or Bb.

  • @KingsOfGypsies

Sigh...no it's not. A minor resolves to A, while C major resolves to C. That they share the same notes doesnt make it the same scale. The same counts for the modes you name. D dorian resolves to D, E phrygian to E etc. If you play the notes of C major over an E minor chord you're not playing E phrygian but good ol' C major. If you however drone an E, play the C major scale starting from E, which resolves to that same E, thén you play E phrygian.
