Bollywood produces Hindi movies. Hindi is a language spoken by North Indians. . The west should note that Hindi is not even India's national language. According to Art 340 of the Indian Constitution it is India's official language. Rahman actually spoke the truth. Bollywood =Hindi is not equivalent to India. Chennai and South India produces more movies than Bollywood. Kollywood would be more representative of India. South Indians excel in whichever field they enter.

First of all, the channels like NDTV must be fucked as they are biased. According to them all these Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada films are commonly called as southern films. This is the importance & recognition they are giving to each of our industries. That's the reason why our maestro says this answer in TIME interview.
While the people from south see & praise Hindi movies, most of the people from the north are underestimating southern movies. They don't know the fact that the current bollywood is run by a plenty of talented Southern artists.

So, I know the status of Indian society. Don't be extravagant. Your worries are unreasonable. I have number of friends in Northern side as well as southern side. I know how they are behaving each other. So, don't simply blame a group of people by just pointing out errors out of 2 or more examples among a big number.

First of all, the channels like NDTV must be fucked as they are biased. According to them all these Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada films are commonly called as southern films. This is the importance & recognition they are giving to each of our industries. That's the reason why our maestro says this answer in TIME interview.

But the thing is while saying about an Indian Movie, the world uses the word Bollywood. And so it automatically focused on Hindi movies. Thus some extraordinary movies from the rest didn't get much attention or they simply get ignored. I only mean that.. In a London bus, I heard some blondes saying today "My Name is Khan" releasing.. thats an Indian movie, not Bollywood

all the talented musical film industries are not known to the world. For most people bollywood (hindi) film music industy is indian film music industry. Tamil Kollywood, Malayalam Mollywood Telungu Tollywood and Kanadam are unknown. A R Rahman is tamil originally from Tamil Naadu but to the world he's a bollywood musician. Not fair
