My i7 doesn't have a cracked screen or flickering, but can anybody tell me if you have an iMac running these specs:
27" i7
2 TB Storage
8 GB Ram
How long does it take for your iMac to boot up/shutdown and put it to sleep and wake it up? Cus my old iMac had 4 GB of RAM and ran a Core 2 Duo and booted up and shut down within a couple secs. (like 30 sec boot up and 3 sec shut down), but my i7 iMac takes minutes boot up and shut down and it also takes a while to put to sleep and wake it up.
I feel sorry for those who suffer these issues, they've paid for a premium product, not something with inherent faults! These computers are a big investment for most people - I'd be absolutely gutted if it happened to me.
On another note, here in the UK VAT goes back up in 2010 - so do I hang on for the new MacBook Pro upgrade or dive in now? I'm after the 13" 2.53Ghz model.
just a little thing about the imac (27 inch). i love it, it just haas some problems. Mine heats up waaaaaay to fast. Also i got the screen flickering thing once, but after that i never happened again (but wen it happened, it was for 15 min) also, i kinda dont like the magic mouse. other than that, its great
i dont care about mac vs pc they are both good os's i would get a mac because i have have windows on it. theres no point arguing about it just get what u want lol
My 27´has the problem...only once when i start it up..then i have to restart and i don´t have it anymore that day...i had to wait 1 month for the Imac to arrive..for the rest super machine
I'm currently waiting on my 27" Quad - Core i7 which I ordered this weekend, with 2-3 day shipping, only to find out about the 2 - week delay. ( I didn't notice it on the website, and figured paying for the faster shipping would change that anyway. ) I'm a bit frustrated. I called and they told me it was due to tons of orders, but I doubt it. I think I might call back now that I know this could be the problem and see what they say to that!
You know, I thought about that. If I had gotten it today, had it been broken I'd have to send it in and wait two weeks anyway. That's true. It's still frustrating. I'm really lucky to be able to get something so expensive. I'm happy to say I worked for it n_n I hope they ship them out a few days earlier, as mine is said to ship the 28th and deliver sometime before the 31st. It's CHRISTMAS Apple!
Man, Apple is going to shit! I'll hold off on buying a new imac till they get it together. In a hurry, so they ship the new imac with ALL these problems! Sad to hear this about Apple.
apple cares more about making that fast buck, sure they will replace any bad comps that go out, but they wait till something happens to do anything about it and they leave it up to you to let them know. i watched a video about apple users and its sad how it truly went from a community to just another moneyhungry corporation! Sure they do make great stuff but they have been rushing things just to make that fast money too much lately! They need to go back to taking their time, we dont mind waiting
dude the demand for the iMac 27" is ridiculously high. Apple is just trying to do it's best to get these machines out before christmas, which is the problem. No matter how you look at it though, Apple is not scamming anybody. If you paid $3,000 I doubt your just going to layback and say, "well too bad I can't send it back." Apple is the only participant losing any money.
Was searching Youtube and saw your page and thought to say hi.

What exactly is the screen flickering? I can't say I've had any problems with the 27" imac other than the magic mouse.

At least you're sure to get a perfectly fine iMac. Some other people have had very bad luck with their 27"s

My i5 iMac seems pretty much perfect - no yellow tint, no flickering, no cracks or dents, and runs fast and flawlessly for everything I want to do!
