I'm just curious, but how can one tell the difference between a Ragdoll and, say, a Snowshoe cat? I've seen pictures of both and both look quite similar; sometimes I've even seen a picture of the same cat (unprofessionally) labelled as either breed in various sources. And I do know that typically, Snowshoe cats are so named because of their white paws, but I have seen pictures of Ragdolls with white paws too.

@Biklingchan85 Well ragdolls go limp in your arms and snoeshoes ALWAYS have white feet that's what gives them they're name b?c a breeder once found white footed kittens in her persians litter and couldn't sell them like that so she invented her own breed! (I watch a lot of cats 101 on Animal Planet) :)

@cbrcrx Heh yeah I've watched some Cats 101 too (well, streamed it on its website on Animal Planet :P), but the funny thing was, I think in the Birman clip I recall seeing them use some of the same footage they used in the Ragdoll clip (or it maybe it was Snowshoe, I forget which... I do know though that from what I've seen, some Ragdolls can sometimes have white paws too).

@Biklingchan85 ragdoll cats are very similar to Himalayans they are long haired Siamese cats, and snowshoe cats are more of a short haired breed; both breeds have blue eyes and have the siamese look to them but overall the two breeds are very much alike! with very similar markings! hope this helps you tell apart the two different breeds of felines!

@Biklingchan85 No problem! :) good question again this breed is very similar to the himalayan and the snowshoes also the siamese! well Birmans can have the siamese markings but can also come in complete different colors! sometimes you can't even tell the Birmans of their breed when they have such define markings, but overall one look at the Birmans eyes and other body features you can tell the breed! that is if they are pure bred Birmans of corse; sometimes they can look completely Birman

@Biklingchan85 sorry i ran out of letters! here's the rest of my statement of the difference! so i was saying: sometimes they can look completely Birman but be only half; it depends on what's in their jeans and which parent they take after the Queen or the Tom? no one will ever know which one it's going to take after you just have to wait and see....Yes the two breeds Birman and Ragdoll cats are very much alike! they are one of the most closest breeds! however that is how i would tell them apart
