  • It was arcade games like this and TMNT that got me into videogames in the first place! Ah, nostalgia...................

  • They need to release this shit on Xbox Live Arcade ASAP

  • It's cool to finally hear the music... The arcades used to be so loud that you could never hear the actual music playing from the game, since all of the other games loud music and people talking and shouting would basically drown everything out.

  • The Simpsons is my favorite TV show of all time...but this game just looks horrible.

  • @Aphexwolf OH non nonononononono NO! This game is amazing! One of the greatest arcade beat 'em up's of all time! So much pure fun. And the graphics! It's amazing how well they capture the series, especially considering how early in the series this was.

  • Don't tell her you were at the bar..what else is open at night???....

  • This is absolutely the best youtube playlist of all time!!! :D

I couldn't do anything, but listen to all 200 awesome entries straight (althought it took several days)!

  • best arcade game of all time

  • the arcade game should have been on the super nes and genesis it would have really sold or at least make this a wii shop game

  • omfg i remember this game as a kid :))))

  • Its a shame that this game never made it to the SNES like TMNT did. Why? We will never know.

Having said that, it would have been even better on the SNES, due to the SNES being able to put out better audio and even graphics.

  • @nintygaming The reason why is because Acclaim bought the video game rights to the Simpsons license shortly after Konami made the arcade game.

  • I remember this! I think it's the only arcade game I ever finished. Definitely the first though :D

  • Would've been great if this came out on consoles, if they did it with turtles in time...no reason X-Men or this couldn't have gotten the same treatment

  • haha they ve made smithers hilarious

  • One of the best cartoon inspired video games EVER.

  • Surely the family would never work together like that?

  • Ah, memories, classic game! I used to put quite some money into one..

  • Once I became the most popular girl in the arcade when I bet up the game using Lisa... obviously, it costed me a fortune in coins hahhaha

  • best arcade game ever

  • Man! Where's the high score music track?

  • Funny how one of the first Simpsons games is still one of the best. God this game was awesome.

  • i have virtual bart for the sega genisis

  • looks cool for a arcade game :) maybe there is a emulator for this i wanna play it :)

  • They still have this game in the arcade where I live, and I still have fun playing it. I need a life.

  • in my vacancy at Niagara Falls, i go to marine land. In the marine land arcade, i played this game! only one token! nice!

  • Great game, great soundtrack. Few companies handled licensed games better than Konami. Ever wonder if the surreal content of this game inspired the show's Japan-related episodes?

  • ...few companies, did I miss something? No really did I miss something?I thought this was the best licensed game.

  • Better than the shit Acclaim Simpsons games.

  • I definately agree! This arcade game is better than the Simpsons games made by Acclaim, Electronic Arts, and Vivendi Universal, because Japanese game developers are better at making videogames based off American, Canadian, European, and Australian movie, cartoon, and toy franchises, than American, Canadian, European, and Australian game developers! The Japanese should publish and develop ALL videogames based off of Cartoon Network's, Nickelodeon, Disney XD, and all worldwide cartoons!

  • I always used to have the Krustyland stage song stuck in my head after playing this game.

  • almost 20 years old and still looking great.

  • cool 6:07 is from Samurai Shodown

  • Best Simpsons game, hands down.

  • Such a classic game.

  • No need. You can download it on MAME32.

  • Uh, that was directed towards thegreatmaziner's comment.

  • This game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, and X-Men Arcade ate so many of my quarters

  • They're practically the same game, so I can see why. Those were the golden ages of arcades.

  • One of my favorite arcade games! This brings back memories.

  • The music is done very well on this game, sounds very remanisant of the SNK games. Great arcade game!

  • I rember this too but the Hover marage had could of done a bit more hee

  • ahaha any1 remember playing this with 4 friends at the arcade! When one of you ran out of quarters the convo was sort of like "Dude i died and i have no more coins!" "Dude here take mine reach in to my pocket!" "I cant find it!!1 oh wait here it is!" "Hurry up man! mr burns is killing us!"

    goood times...

  • This is such an awesome game, definitely the best one of the Simpsons ever.

  • One hilarious Homer Quote:

If bart can be EL BARTO then I can EL-HOMO

    XD

  • should've had a sequel with bosses like sideshow bob, evil animitronic itchy and scratchy, snake, and dracula burns. it would've been cool to have at least a couple more playable characters like barney and nelson.

  • LOL I remember when I was 6 years old playing this game at the arcades and beating it while my failed teammates looked in AWE

  • Arcade game emulators help you relive good times without the quarter-pinching!!!

  • I love this game, I have to say this is the greatest simpsons game ever made.

  • There's not much competition, I have to say. Now I'm gonna eat my own shorts (munch munch).

  • lol, yeah but all the simpson games just plain suck and are stupid, I like the one for PS2 and mostly the arcade game

  • My point exactly.

  • Now that I think about it, why the hell would Mr. Burns, a billionaire, need to steal a diamond?

  • Oh sure, he has Bazzillions, But the GAzillionares still laugh at him from atop their diamond towers! The real question is, why is Moes bar below a cemetary? And since when is it a mile long with arcade games and gambling tables? And why isn't he helping one of the only people in the world he calls his friend? He's got a shotgun underneath that table.

(Just in case your 1 year old question hadn't been answered yet)

  • So you answer my question with a sack full of new ones? Brilliant! Maybe someone else will answer your questions a year from yesterday. And then we'll have a laugh together or something, I don't know, I stopped paying attention after "So".

  • is this the original arcade version or is this the PC port?

  • This is the arcade version. the PC port had little to no music if i remember well (i know the c64 had it, but i'm not sure if the music was there in the IBM/Amiga version)

  • i dont care much for the tv show anymore and im not gonna bother with the movie

  • Nice job posting Konami brawler music. Only person to do so, maybe.

Pretty unique how bosses had their own themes.

    Nice touch.

  • i don't understand why they never ported this game to consoles. i did waste a lot of cash playing this video game whenever i went ot the grocery store though, that's for sure

  • It was ported over... to the Commodore 64. Probably not the best decision in the world, but I'm not sure that the SNES or Genesis could have handled it without some massive toning it down.

  • It was also ported on PC (MS-DOS) not sure it works on XP though

  • I think Acclaim (now defunct) owned the rights to publish Simpsons games on consoles at the time, relegating this title to arcades and PCs. Acclaim was of course responsible for Bart vs. The Space Mutants, Bart vs. the World, Virtual Bart, etc. :(

  • Congrats on 200! These are great!

  • Thanks dude. :)

  • Heh, a Simpsons video game with Noh theater influenced music :) I love it.

  • The "YOOOOOO!" sound at about the 6 minute mark comes from Noh theater.

I also love that this game has Life in Hell characters.

I really wish that one of the Simpsons DVD sets had a documentary about this game. That would be great.

  • I'm glad a Japanese company made this game. The Japanese make cartoon videogames BETTER than we do!

  • They make plenty of sucky games, too.

  • LOLZ, the Simpsons!

  • This isthe place I always died when I was little 3:14 boss.

  • whath's this??? fuck me

  • This game was the best reason to go the skating rink.

  • I loved this game! This and TMNT were my favorite arcade games.

  • This is my favorite game for the arcade of all time. I would pump hundreds of quarters with my friends to beat it.
