My favorite Heart Break hotel is the Ted dibease and the undertaker when they started the thing with undertaker vs the undertaker match at summer slam with paul bier
I remember this never went anywhere. After this segment aired, Curt completely disappeared from WWE and didn't show up again until Survivor Series '95 (19 months after this aired).
I was a huge Curt mark as a kid, and remember being totally heartbroken that he disappeared AGAIN. (He also didn't show up for Survivor Series '93)
Lord knows why left the company twice in less than a year. Guess we'll never know. That piece of crap DVD they made on him sure didn't answer any questions.
According to Honky Tonk Man, Hawk and others, it was well-known that he was Vince's boy-toy for REAL, so Vince pushed him in more ways than one; then he became famous for being famous.
Teenage fans are so stupid that they'll revere anyone who's hyped enough, but normally they have to draw money to get hyped; here it's obvious that HB-Gay was getting 3/4 million per YEAR, for THREE YEARS STRAIGHT because his "back hurt"-- yeah I'll BET, as in BROKE-back!
i haven't heard this, but if it's true, i would figure it was rude. im pretty sure that shawn and curt were buddies. they had been since their AWA days.
@wizeguy26 I eard it was both, aswell as most of the locker room. Who weren't in the Kliq. Didn't Rude ultimately leave because the Screwjob aswell later on?
@SayHI2TheBadGuyMang actually, my buddy and I got the rare opportunity to ASK Shawn Michaels (in passing at the airport) why he wasn't wrestling. He - in character and smugly said "I'm on vacation". So I think you are right, he stayed back and let Kevin get the push, his buddy Razor worked with him over the I-C Title. It was the Klique doing their thing.
wow... i was disapointed that i had to type in the HEARTBREAK HOTEL in the search engine...you would think that by just searching Shawn Michaels, the videos would be in the suggestions side
Mr Perfect: "Now Luger, I don't hold any grudge. Just because 392 days ago you knocked me out at Wrestlemania 9. No, I don't hold a grudge it's never even entered my mind. And just because I didn't jump on the 'Lex-Express', because I didn't wear the red, white and blue wristbands. Because I didn't wave the little flags. Because 'I'M NOT A YANKEE DOODLE DANDEE!' You think I'm some kind of creature that caused you to lose the World Wrestling Federation title. I hold no grudges."
@filthyralph yup . . . Mr. Perfect is no yankee doodle dandy; he's PERFECT! (and the 'Lex Express' thing was a big flop, with Luger winning by count out at SummerSlam '93). As I recall, the Perfect/Luger feud never took off because Perfect at the time held a Lloyd's of London policy and they told him he'd lose the policy if he went back to wrestling.
@SayHI2TheBadGuyMang That's a good point. They did a good job of getting Diesel over in '94. Literally within 8 months he went from HBK's lackey to a credible WWF champ.
@SayHI2TheBadGuyMang That's a good point. Was he hurt that year? I don't remember? I know they were trying to promote Diesel and I do remember them being a tag team around that time. I think it was mainly cuz he was almost done with the IC title scene and was on the brink of being in main events.
Love it! "I dont hold a grudge, I dont hold a grudge that 392 days ago you knocked me out with your metal forearm at Wrestlemania 9, the thought hasnt even crossed my mind!" hahahahha
ever notice only the best get interview segments? heart break hotel, piper's pit the snake pit, the cutting edge, the highlight reel......makes ya wonder :P
Two Legends in One segment! Yes I am leaving out Kevin Nash as In My Opinion he is No Where Near the Level that Shawn Michaels and Curt Henning are on!
Mr.Perfect never really liked Lex Luger not since Luger scored that fluke win over him at WrestleMania IX and afterwards knocked him out. So at Mania X Perfect had every right to screw Luger. I call it an MSG screwjob
haha i forgot about the heartbreak hotel...i belive its next to the smackdown hotel on the corner of jaborni drive and know your role blvd..lol so many hotel refrences in the wwe
Course, this was supposed to carry on to a Mr.Perfect/Lex Luger feud, but Perfect had a back injury and was later released, and so, Crush took his place.
@EricV1 That's another sign that Luger was being shunted down the ladder: he doesn't even get true revenge on the guy who screwed him at WrestleMania 10.
@RoyStantz And not only that, he never saw the main event light again after his loss to Yokozuna. He was phased out of the limelight by guys like Bret Hart, Razor Ramon, Shawn Michaels and Diesel. It all went downhill once he lost at Wrestlemania. While all of the ones I mentioned were given a decent mid card run, he'd have pointless feuds with guys like Crush and Tatanka.
heel HBK was so awesome I would've loved to have seen another heel turn by him and bring back the heartbreak hotel

A referee who actually disqualifies a wrestler for breaking the rules...I'd say he officiated that match absolutely perfectly.

the reason he was constantly disappearing and showing up again was the nagging back injuries he kept receiving between 1990-1995 ...
