Tutti Frutti is the rock 'n' roll record that defines the rock and roll era, authors who comment on the period always say Little Richards ' Tutti Frutti is the defining record, then, along comes the great white Christian hope Pat Boone who de- balls the record and opens the door for white, bland, as Jerry Lee Lewis says, 'Bobby this and Bobby that', gutless , manufactured, sausage machine turned out crap, born in 42, am I lucky , yes sir.
Everybody Has There True Method Of The Birth Of Rock n Roll, Many Say It's The Beatles, Not To Say I Don't Love The Beatles But This Is The True Birth Of Rock N Roll And As Well As Chuck Berry, Richie Valenzeula, And Other As Well.
Would like to have seem more dancing, and little Richard did not have the same energy he had when he was singing Lucille, wonder if he was tired. Love him anyway, he was genious.
Little Richard...great! Note the four saxophones...big loss! When the guitar took over the band it was an innovation, but the loss of the sax was a big loss. There must be a way to combine those two dominant instruments in one band. That's a challenge that no one has successfully accomplished, so far as I know. The MC in that film segment was the great Alan Freed. In my mind, he was more significant to the development of rock 'n' roll than Little Richard.

@MylesAngus - Alan Freed was the Significant to Rock in general making it into the White Only Radio stations which ultimately led to the mainstream without a doubt! God Bless his soul! We wouldn't have the beatles or Elvis, Jerry Lee, or any other rock style to date if not for him pushing it as he did!
One of 12 children and a faith healer at 10. By 13 he was making money singing on stage. Because of his young age he was known as "Little Richard." The words to Tutti Fruity were originally "Tutty Fruity ah booty" not "ah rooty", a song with homosexual humor. By the 1960's he often on stage would say, "James Brown may be the King of Soul but I 'm The Queen." He was already outrageously overt by the early 1960s when I saw him perform at the Apollo in NYC.
Artists like Justin Bieber couldn't make it in Little Richards time. You actually had to be talented to make it big, not just some generic piece of shit.
Little richard makes ous proud hes proof whites are lame and unoriginal and steal other coultures the truth is whites are boring thats why white girls beg for a real man black power!
The Real King!!!Love ta see a big guy dance....I think Secretly The Establishment( Ok Blue noses) Wanted to ridicule the new music.(Big Guy Dancing)Little Richard will always be my Hero......Ok Next to Chuck Berry and Carl Perkins....
The era! When the white establishment got a load of this, they arrested half the gang and ran the rest out of town, replacing them with Pat Boone and Frankie Avalon.
@emirler86 no kidding !!! shows how blacks were treated....you can entertain us but use the back door when you finish...still....good to see Little Richard preform...did what they had to do....they all did....
Boy,the fat guy can sure dance. He has the right moves! It is sad to think that b/c of Jim Crow that the black entertainers cd be the stars of the show and yet cd not sleep or eat in the establishment. A shame!
How come the only people dancing are the black couple? The people at the tables looked like they were dying to get out there and dance, but perhaps that was allowed back then.
It wasn't really allowed at all. The reason they're dancing, is because, Richard's songs were so beautiful, segregated halls couldn't help but come together. Shows you just how powerful music really is. This is why Little Richard was so pivotal in the history of music.
Boone didnt steal his songs, he just recorded a tamer version of them which is pretty much forgotten, and rightfully so. But in doing so, he actually helped Little Richard, not only because he got his music played, and many kids went out to find the real version of the song.
Of course Elvis & the Beatles were influenced by Little Richard, but he was influenced by them also. 1st of all Elvis started recording RnR BEFORE Little Richard, not after like Little Richard would have you believe.
