The toes numb thing....not sure if this is your same situation, but sometimes it doesn't mean that your cold, it may mean that your shoes are tied too tight, or too tight in general.
Jill that numbness is your muscles waking up it will go away the more you work out. If you work out 1 hour a day five days a week for two months is will be habit. Just push yourself and try it you will love the way you feel after two months.
When my toes tingle it's always because my laces are too tight...but if it's cold for you, well I don't have a solution other than to wear big bunny slippers over your sneakers?
my toes always go numb when I'm on the elliptical machine. Your feet actually swell when you exercise and that is why your running/exercise shoes should actually be a 1/2 size up from your normal size.
I don't get numb from exercise, I might lose my breath though. I don't run though due to the damage it can cause on the knees, bike riding is my exercise of choice, I also can accomplish things on those trips too so it pays off and saves gas money at the same time.
I'm not sure what that numb toes thing is, but I get that too at times. I think it's due to pressure points in the shoes & repetitive motion on machines because I don't get it when I'm doing say kickboxing...
