  • so funny with a british accent

  • The people who disliked this video are obviously jealous that a bird can speak better English than they can.

  • Farewell Woof Woof, you will be missed

  • what is a car-ber-X?

  • hey you should do another vid to show us the updated talking

  • RIP Woof Woof who died in February 2011

  • RIP Woof Woof you will be sorely missed :-((

  • RIP woofwoof

  • Sadly I just heard on the radio that he died yesterday

  • out RAGEOUS ! I am sending this clip to my friends in the US. I did not KNOW that our Tui could talk ! many thanks for the vid !

  • This Tui is amazing! You can tell he has a lot of character. So precious. So smart!

"IT'S COLD! CARK! KISS KISS MWA MWA MWA MWA MWA MMMM.... COME UP HERE! QUICK! AYE? WHERE'S THE KAKARIKI'S? HELLO WOOF WOOF!"

  • I love that he say's everything with a kiwi accent.

  • I came to see Woof Woof in 2002, Janet was working there, a friend. Woof woof was asking if we wanted to go for a swim.

  • wow, he's beautiful :)

  • WoofWoof on youtube!! Amazing :) your birdcentre is doing a good job!

  • Awesome! That is so cool!

  • @MountTutuEco

Woof-Woof is a lot of fun and its great to share him with everyone

    Robert.

  • @birdsnz i think he uses his white feathers to pollinate the flower ! amazing bird !

    Hedi, France

  • haha what a little character!

  • My mother's friend had one in her garden that started to mimic the phone ringing and had her running inside to answer it until she figured out the cheeky bugger was having her on. :D

  • When I was there 2002 he asked "go for a swim?" "cold". Funny Kiwi accent. My Amazon parrot woke up when she heard this video and she's sweetly asking "Hello?" and making sweet happy noises under her sheet.

  • is this real

  • went to bird recovery centre last week and saw woof woof - very chatty. Sounds like Robert (Robert and his wife run the centre) - they are amazing people ! Well worth the visit and would recommend it as 'a must ' if you are visiting Whangarei

  • Those fucking religions morrons would say it is "possessed by the devil" and need to be killed

  • haha thats so cool, never would have thought that a tui could speak. i was awestruck when i watched this on tv lol

  • Tui have amazing voice box he sounds like his owner

  • @angel64 yes, in fact they have TWO!

  • I saw this on the tv. He is soo awesome! I love woof-woof!

  • holy shit.. i thought this was a joke..till i read the comments. Thats amazing...

  • FINALLY! For years and years my mother never believed that when I was little, a Tui talked to me at the zoo while her back was turned. For years I've been certain that it did!

Watching this on TV last night was hilarious, I LOVE that he has an accent! I could finally turn to her and say SEE?! IT DID TALK!

You guys are doing a fantastic job with the birds - we've raised a few of our own and helped wild ones where we could. Good to see some people really dedicated to such a noble cause!

  • Great to see so many enjoying Woof-Woof

    From his Keeper.Robert.

  • hi Robert - i was at the recovery centre about ?14 years ago and there was a talking bird at the centre, but I remember it as a starling (it talked and coughed). Am I correct or was it this tui?

  • Hi The bird you saw about 14 yrs ago was a starling and he did say "Hows your cold" and cough as well. Woof Woof the talking Tui has come along since then, hes' now about 12 yrs old and he has an even bigger reange of phrases as you have seen on the video.

  • Hey there, just saw this on TV One tonight, the show with Jeremy Wells (I think lol) Have to say, Woof-Woof is awesome. Never knew Tui's had 2 voiceboxes or that they could even speak. Absolutely awesome!

  • Hello Moko - classic

  • so cool!!! =)

  • the sound after hows your cold is awesome

  • It that what I hear - 0:49 ?????????? :O

R u sure It is not the man behind the camera saying that??

  • Extremely impressive!!! =)

  • it's cold. *BANG* it's cold. *BANG* it's cold. *BANG* it's cold. *BANG* it's cold. *BANG* it's cold. *BANG* it's cold. *BANG*

    someone please make a remix.

  • lol, amazing!

  • Ha i saw this on the news! great stuff that tui :P

  • The reason a tui can so clearly imitate a human voice is bescause they have 2 voiceboxs unlike a parrot that only has one

  • it even has a nz accent : )

  • Thank you, birdsnz. I've just seen this on TV. What took them so long? It's 14 January 2009, for goodness' sake! :-)

  • so wierd becoz most parrots dont even have the same voice as their owner

  • amazing bird, went to see him a while back

had a bit of a rude mouth on him xD

  • this lil bird is the amazingest hehe

  • yeah thats woof woof, no video editing there mate

  • Woof Woof is a beautiful special bird, so glad he has a wonderful permanent home!

  • Woof Woof is amazing, saw him yesterday, he didn't want to talk much though, kept talking about smoking?

  • everything from new zealand wins.

  • This bird can mimic others song and sounds, the voice is real not dubbed this bird is talking because has been keeped much time and learned to talk ;Good vid!.check the birds called Maina he talks good too.

  • Show's what you know- go outside once in a while, eh?

    Idiot.

  • as I have said on this page the reason the tui is so good a imitating human speech is because they have 2 voiceboxes unlike parrots that only have one

  • Gorgeous animal

  • Someone should play the audio of a lightsaber fight near this bird for a few weeks. God, that would make things interesting.

  • Isn't this the bird raised by Roger? Speaks in his exact voice. I've seen him, says "Go for a swim? Too cold", and tells the story of the baby tui that fell out of it's nest?

  • That's too funny! He really does sound human.

  • wow thats mad as :D ehhehehee

  • i saw this bird at the maunu mueseum bird recovery centre it is real

  • OMFG

    is that true?

  • I liked it how he ended the pop goes the weasle tune haha :-)

  • That is the most human sounding bird ever! He's fantastic...

  • Amazing -"how's your cold"

  • Nice.
