  • nossa o paul simon é igual ao chavez auhauhauhau

  • I just can't help watching this over and over. What a fantastic performance.

  • I think Willie Nelson is used to singing the lead-vocal, instead of the back-up vocal and the part seems also a bit too high for him. But both unique artists, in their own right, so it's worthwhile to see them perform together, anyway.

  • OUTSTANDING !!

  • SO AWESOME ...it's a keeper for sure!

  • I'm 65, retired, kids are grown and doing well, and I'm here, a little high and listening and watching Paul Simon and Willie Nelson sing "Homeward Bound". Damn life is good!

  • beautiful................

  • Love me some Willie Nelson!!

  • Qué bueno esta pieza; un judío de Nueva York y anglosajón de Texas, cómo que me podrían afectar así; ¡Hijüeputa, me hicieron llorar! jajaja... Calidad...

  • great video!!!!!

  • im fifteen and im listening to paul simon music... and loving it

  • beautiful xxxx

  • As a young man in the military this my anthem

  • a Puerto Rican from New York and a share croppers son from Texas, never would have guessed it, that was awsome.

  • @texasdustfart Well, Simon is the son of Hungarian Jewish immigrants, but it's still an amazing duo. :-)

  • hoe can justin beber get millions of views and this gets a mesley 800 thousand?? doesn make sense in my eyes and im aq young irish lad who loves his music this is pure genious

  • well you think you've seen everything!!!... i never would have predicted this lol

  • The woman at 0:50 made me smile. I'm happy she's happy =)

  • this is just awesome

  • Wow!! What a gem!! Two of the most important songwriters of our generation on the same stage!! There is simply no equal to Paul Simon!! Good stuff!!

  • still a tremendous sound! Thank you.

  • Amen. And lets dont forget The Beatles, Pink Floyd and etc

  • Willie is still one of the best pickers of a guitar

  • How would you 2 idiots know what Willie was doing? Shitheads!

  • I still love them both!

  • 24 people have not been on the road alone before.

  • Willie was to stoned to keep up with Simon.. EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE THO!

  • @Overdosed08

    I agree with you.

  • @danlinear

wrong...just a different style. Even if he were stoned he'd be right on cue dude

  • @danlinear Me too!!

  • @Overdosed08 Simon was too egotistical to realize the great honor of sharing the stage with Willie. Listen to this song as recorded by Simon. It's just freakin annoying. This is an awesome collaboration, but if anyone can't keep up, its Simon. His normal delivery is like a frickin jackrabbit in heat.

  • @TheSarahfran Willie is honored to have Paul Simon on stage with him! Because he is one of the best songwriters ever and in my opinion has far better songs than Willie. Simon & Garfunkel are awesome!

  • @Overdosed08 Actually the singing and playing with his own unique sense of time is Willie's signature.

  • When he wrote that song 40 years before this performance , he never thought he would sing it with Willie Nelson! Thank you for posting - this is a magical moment of music from the heart.

  • one can really tell the true singer here...

  • RAILWAY STATON, destination & stop's neatly planned, home, home.

an endless stream's every day, homeward bound, I wish..., where my love lays (?), I wish I was, homeward bound, tonight, my songs again, mediocratie, comfort me, home, where my thoughts escaping, silently for me...

  • What an unlikely pair ......... Fantastic !

  • Why does someone not like it ????

  • There doesn't seem to be a place anymore for this kind of "guitar and voice" contemplative ballads. It's too bad, the simple honest things can touch you more than a full band and back-up dancers.

  • @terrybeaton I'm a huge fan of Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Willie, etc and the acoustic guitar + voice thing is the kind of music that really moves me right now in my life. I've been listening to a lot of music by "The Tallest Man On Earth" and "Ray Lamontagne" (more current singer songwriter guys) these days and it just really feels right to me. If you end up checking out these artists, I hope you'll like it!

  • What a mix!!! well done!!!

  • Two legends together performing a beautiful song, it is wonderful feeling hearing this.

  • SWEEEET!!!!!

  • MEGA TALENTS... when there were talented musicians!! Oh yeah. yeah, sorry! now we have... Bieber and Iglesias... (gulp!) Times of doom!!

  • @gdhgeorge fuck bieber!!!

  • Wow! That was nice. Saw Simon and Garfunkel at Forest Hills back in 1969.

Great show and incredible talent. Thanks for this clip.

    Lefty

  • home where my love lies ....

  • Paul Simon borrowed his outfit from Steve Jobs.

  • @Morganizer RIP Steve Jobs!

  • @Morganizer rofl

  • I love Willie Nelson, but I think scientists could find 500 year old bacteria on that guitar he has played on all these years.

  • Epic!

  • American music is one of the greatest and most beautiful world's heritage! :D :D :D

  • 21 people don't smoke enough weed

  • @deeg08 I love this song and never smoked weed in my life.

  • @usblues100 Please tell us more. Have you ever had a beer?

  • @Gatsby999888 Sure, I've had a lot more than one.

  • Great performance from two icons. Masterful. Nobody bends a note like Willie.

  • i swear there is a gang of people who vote 'dislike' just because they can. no other reason. if someone doesn't think this is good then they haven't begun to live.

  • @babystinky The YouTube Mafia....

  • Thank you

  • Wow.

  • One of the best versions I have ever heard!

  • only pessimists look at the dislikes and comments about it -1 for you losers.

    OT: great performance.

  • Only the most heartless person could dislike this.

  • How could 20 idiots dislike this?

  • so fucking good...

  • Willie Nelson always looks like he just came out of a huge dirt pile..

  • great song, but its really not clear to me why they have to put those half pauses before the words as if to prove its live. i'm looking at nelson here. sounds stilted

  • @EvelcyclopS apparently you dont know Willie's style...

  • @copierguy5000 clearly not, but it doesnt make it less annoying

  • This is a great post....thank you for putting this up.

  • Does it get any better? (rhetorical)

  • Wo! Three nights in succession I gravitated or elevated to this video.

Blessings to you Paul. Blessings to you, Willlie! and danlinear who with his grace posted this. Thank you!

    markji

  • have had the pleasure of seeing both these legends in concert. Absolute class. i go to new york every year and we go to a bar on bleeker st called the back fence and we love to sit and listen to s and g songs all night long. Both timeless and priceless

  • how many people in this world haven't seen this video.....poor fuckers.....!

  • @travo40 Amen buddy...this is awesome!

  • omg, i almost made a big mistake and didn't watch this. the sing just gets better as it goes along. what a great version & performance.

  • 19 people clicked the wrong link.

  • bloody awsome love it

  • Two real deal legends standing on that stage baby! This is the kind of talent music executives like Simon Cowell can't manufacture!

  • That one almost made me cry.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! why can't i find the RIGHT chords for this song? :'( it's so hard to figure it all out by just hearing it :/

  • @BartMesmanguitar You can't find the chords because you don't have Trigger :)

  • Outstanding!

  • Love to hear these two awesome singers together..thanks for sharing!~

  • didn't think I would get homesick while watching this but damn

  • thank you 4 sharing.

  • Incredible.

  • 2:33 Watch Paul Simon in awe at Willies guitar playing

  • @Kristofferfan

does't look like awe to me. one pro admiring another.

  • willie nelson doesn't sing this song well....he tries too hard to "make it his own".

  • @easyrider332 He doesn't "try too hard" it is classic Willie. It's just who he is!!!!! Love you Willie

  • Dayumn! Willie and Paul! Two icons! Lotta years performing there.....I'm old!

  • Simon & Garfunkel was about 98% Simon, although Garfunkel had a good voice. Simon's one of the great song writers.

  • @bailinnumberguy Simon & Garfunkel is what made them famous. They are both better when they are together. Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel together sound better then we they are solo. Dont get me wrong, they both sound great solo also. Assesing percentages of who contributes more is meaningless.

  • two superb musicians making such sweet music, takes your breath away!

  • It's so huge...

  • GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • These lame fuckers nowadays with their autotune and 50 gay dancers cant get a reaction like this and all Paul and Willie are doing is playing acoustic guitars and singing.

  • @dsfddsgh

MATE what are you smoking these days?

  • moves ya dont it

  • Holy jeez, talk about meeting of the gods.

  • I've been there! Nice venue, old school feel. Love Paul Simon

  • nice pair. very nice :)

  • 19 people never made it home

  • Probably the best song writer to have ever lived. Not really my genre, but if you dont like this , you either dont like music or your not being honest. Watch the 2 girls in the audience melt as he sings ' I need someeone to comfort me' the younger in awe , the older one in memory of a lost love. Even Willie, a legend, realises he needs to take a back seat in this, an epic performance by a music god.

  • @mcnabian

One of the loveliest comments on You Tube. Thank you.

  • @mcnabian: insiightful observation of the two women in rapture. i agree with you.

  • @TheBigDelicious : stop the misspelling and repeating yrself, k?

  • @mcnabian For me second greatest next to Bob Dylan in first.

  • Probably the best song writer to have ever lived. Not really my genre, but if you dont like this , you either dont like music or your not being honest. Watch the 2 girls in the audience melt as he sings ' I need someeone to comfort me' the younger in awe , the older one in memory of a lost love.

  • Paul Simon sings always perfect ! Amazing Talent !

  • Why oh why did S&G have to be cancelled, hope Garfunkel feels better but I say let the show go on and let Willie take his part!!! :D

  • @DineNastyLakers

Now that's a GREAT idea. Funny how they come from such diff genres, but play so well together !!

  • Willy does great on his own stuff. But, he always blows it when he sings with someone else because he can't keep meter. His phrasing is...is just Willy.

  • Yep, for sure, Willie hadn't prepared,or forgot what he had practiced. But he is a trooper, so we have to hand him that.Paul Simin sounds as good as he ever did. Both are awesome musicians and we are lucky to have them.

  • sorry folks, willie is off beat and paul is gritting his teeth in frustration. come on will! keep up! seen other versions and all i can say is, willie might be under the influence of marijuana!

  • 19 people are either brain dead, or just have no soul whatsoever

  • I agree, WILLIE is AWESOME. If you love the way he sings, you'd love the way I sing. Think of (and I mean this in a good way) our favs who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.... Willie, Young, and Dylan. That's a good way of describing how I sound. LOL. Except, I never think I sound any good.

  • Man... Willie is so awesome. The man has a way of singing that CAN be totally out of rhythm, but it totally works.

  • @tellmeitsnottaken Yes, yes and yes. Nailed it.

  • Fantastic!!!!! Standing O!

  • just...WOW....wow...I do have one question, though. Do you think these guys- not just Paul or Willie, but all the "greats"- do what we do? See themselves on video and say to themselves, "Holy Crap! I just sang with _____!" ? wow

  • Art Garfunkel wrote this. How come Paul is saying it's his? I am Non-Stop-Pharaohon - The greatest artist alive!

  • I would give both of my testicles to have been there. one for each god.

  • 'cn brilliant

  • Search: Wolfie Geske- Happy Birthday and tell me that he isn't influenced by Simon.

  • Dios porque no fuí Paul Simon je je!!!!!!!...

  • Powerful

  • Best live duet I ever seen.....and the look on the faces of the women in the audience...WOW !!

  • That was just great! These are two of my all time favorite singer/song writers. I don't know, but there is just something about the way both Willie Nelson and Paul Simon phrase their lyrics and deliver their own unique individual sound, that just blows me away every time. I'm a musician and music teacher by trade and coming from that standpoint, their is just a wealth of musical and life knowledge to learn here. I feel so very fortunate to have grown up with this incredible music. Peace.

  • Willie is great, for as long as he has been around, he just loves to sing. You never hear anything bad about him, even from the the police officers that arrested him for possession which says a lot about his character. What a great legend to still have with us......

  • Is that amy irving at 0.50?

  • Makes me wish I had a home to go home to...

  • need someone to comfort me. who wouldnt want that? what a rendition! more heartfelt than original. the song has more meaning now to me since im away from my casa so often and in a constant state of turmoil and filth being a lawman.

  • Willie doesn't do harmony very well, but he never had to.

  • Paul Simon has the same voice and way of singing that forty years ago, when ,in my twentys, I bought his LPs.

For some reason Mr Nelson is unknown in my country, but I am his fan .I have a huge respect for him.I would like to be like him in my 80s!

    regards from Argentina

  • @56ALEXX Is Willie 80? I thought he was born in 1932 - so even then he'd be awfully close. And people tend to forget that Willie wrote some of the greatest songs of our whole history - "Crazy" for one. And "Family Bible," which a lot of people think is an old folk song, or a public domain gospel song - but Willie wrote that! (He sold the rights for $50, because he was broke, but still...)

  • @inky960 many thanks .I didn`t know the things you said about W.N. Have a happy 2011 !! Alejandro, Buenos Aires,Argentina

  • Thats the way a song should be sung thank you

  • Awesome! Auuauaaaach!

  • Ahhhh, the synthesis of my time on this earth, my East coast birth and my western life, played out on a stage by Paul's singing and Willie's picking.....

    Life is good.

Thank you for your wonderful post.

  • Thanks.. Awesome!

  • This a really music with true quality!

  • Willie needs to let Paul sing

  • two of my favorites but didn't think I would ever see them TOGETHER! Love the song too

Viva Paul Simon !

  • This is phenomenal!

  • Wow. Hearing Willie sing that song gives me chills.

  • legend+ legend <3

  • My god!!!!!! That man, Paul Simon, he's a legend!!!!!!!!!!!!! And he still had a wonderful voice!!!!! He will always be famous!!!! Even after he's long gone. Men like that never die, and are never forgotten.

  • @Silversnapdragon My god!!!!!...I agree, but have you ever heard of the man standing next to him?

  • @Silversnapdragon Thank you for saying that Silversnapdragon. The voice of our generation and still note perfect. His voice hasn't aged which is amazing. Wonderful performance.

  • @Davidorfull I'm sure he sits counting his money and friends and wonders who you are.

  • @Davidorfull Don't like, don't watch. Half a million veiwers must be wrong.....

  • @Davidorfull

Better to have remained silent and been thought a fool than to have spoken and removed all doubt. Not to mention it would be stretching the bounds of reason to think Willie Nelson gives a damn what people like you think of him.

  • @Davidorfull your a bellend.

  • @Davidorfull you must be a real tool, but surely not the sharpest in the shed.

  • AAAH YES HAPPY MEMORIES ....

  • Ah music used to be so good.

  • Very similar style when singing and both awesome songwriters.

  • Both the ol' boys sound great! I have always loved Willie's kinda off beat music. Thanks for posting.

  • Paul looks like John Ritter.

  • nice willie

  • Such a beautiful rendition of this song.....but my warped mind can't help but think...."Willie trims more hair of his head than Paul has left."

  • Nelson Is like 77 years old!

Simon on he oher hand Is only beggining his 70's.

If Johnny Cash was still alive, he would beat Nelson age!

Bob he Hobo (Bob Dylan) Is no even close.

  • The word genius truly is over used, but paul simon, Genius

  • flabergasted.

  • Simon is a collosus.

  • A jewel of a song and a gem of a performance - beautiful

  • This song, with these two great artists, makes me homesick for my origins in NY and my sweet daughter and her family who live there.
