Used my slingbox to watch the Yankees-Rangers game 4 on a 10 hour drive home from Niagra Falls...It played great the entire trip minus a couple of times I lost 3g connection.
Furthermore, fyi; Dishnetwork itself has commissioned a Dishnetwork DVR with sling technology built in to it. The Caveat is it cost about 200 bucks to upgrade from an existing service and the regular 10 bucks a month as a type of lease.. with that, I would recommend you just spend an extra 40 bucks and get the actual HD sling pro which works with any box and its yours to take with you if you ever find a better company to be with than Dishnetwork.
@86yukon Yeah man, thats the evo, it has micro hdmi out. It doesn't come with cable, you just have to buy the cable yourself and whamo you got TV out from your EVO.
I would like a link for the stand. The kickstand is cool, but you if are pushing on the phone like he is doing in the video you would have to hold the phone to prevent it from moving.

@faheemthedream2007 You can be anywhere that has good internet connection or 4g since that's an EVO. Slingbox streams it on the internet from your home and you can use your sling player to access that streaming. It is recommended you get a good internet connection from home also, the better the bandwidth the better the quality of your stream.
I've got an Incredible and just bought a Dish VIP922. How are you guys or at least the one the video able to get a widescreen image to fit on the entire screen of the phone? On mine, the player itself is not utlizing portions on the left and right.
@bippi79 Thanks, I found the problem. Mine is a little different since the slingbox is built into my Dish receiver. The widescreen on the phone will not work unless my TV is turned off. I believe this is due to if the TV is on, it's sending the only HD signal/source to it instead and not the phone. Something like that.
QUESTION: Can you use the slingplayer app on your evo + use the mini hdmi cable from your evo and connect it to a tv to watch your slingplayer on your tv?

@guicapone2 lol. Crappy resolution. Are you mad? The "old" iPhones had crappy resolutions. Though, interestingly, that never seemed to bother Apple users too much. The reason Apple did this, was for old Apps to look good (its 4x the old resolution). The pixels per inch is absurdly high, and while IS very nice, it probably wont make a much difference with normal use. Viewing most video, you wont notice a thing. Though websites will look nicer when zoomed out, even if you cant read it easily.
@guicapone2 About HDMI, I dont really care, but I thought it could be useful since we're talking TV signals. I don't own a TV, nor do I ever intend to (I'm free, you should try it too). All my media comes through an ethernet cable.

We're getting performance and flash in 2.2. Polish and UI in 2.3. And it will continue to get a load of new phones every month to meet the needs of every taste, desire and need.
I don't dislike iOS at all. I just like Android more. My friends should get Android, but to my mother recommend an iPhone.

Apple has a reputation for putting in the best hardware in their product. The concentrate all their resources on one product and try to make it as solid as it can be instead of developing multiple phone on the same android [which htc is doing] and test out which phone goes well in the market and profit off it....not giving shit about the product quality....Apple Win

I have a SlingBox Solo that one day just stopped working. I called their support line, but since it was out of warranty, they didn't even want to talk to me until I paid $30. Had I paid the $30, they would have told me that there was nothing they could have done, as after taking the SlingBox apart, I noticed that the cheap capacitors they used to build it had exploded. I replaced those myself and now it works as it should.

@phelpsbiz you should goto best buy and read the horrible reviews. and what he doesn't say here is u will need a slingplayer box starting at $200 and then pay to download the app. That they come out with updates that crash boxes and want you to pay to fix it if your warranty is up and such so be careful. all the bad reviews had the exact same issues
@eturnald I've had 3 different slingboxes (Tuner, AV, and now Pro-HD) And i have to say they are absolutely amazing. Set-up is very quick, and the quality is amazing. Yes, the box is $300 for Pro-HD. Don't complain. if it isn't worth it to you, don't buy it. simple as that. I will be buying the app for my Droid incredible the very first day it comes out.
@Leignheart allows you to basically watch your TV away from home on a multiple devices. Basically you jack some shit up to your TV, and over your internet connection and whatever connection you are on away from your house you view your "programs."

The video quality looks good which is the most important thing, but that interface was terrible. I was expecting something nicer looking and more straightforward like the iPhone interface.
