Van is awesome. Ferguson's a great coach but he's got only 1 Champions League when he should have two more with the rescources he's had. Ferguson's real problem is with his own tactics, he played RVN up front alone and couldn't win Europe with a 4-5-1 (so painful to watch). Also, SAHA has hardly been an adequate replacement in goal production. Now arguably, MANU play better as a team without RVN but who was it that built the attack around him in the first place - yeah, that's right SAF.
As soon as beckham left Ruud was not as good. It was a pity to see him not score as much because he was fantastic. Saha is good but he's made of glass, wouldn't surprise me if he left this summer for someone else, maybe huntelaar or berbatov.

I think it's absolutely shocking how Ferguson completely undermines the impact that Ruud had on his team during the time he spent there. There was an interview with Ferguson in May and he spoke of how when Beckham and Veron left it was the right time but they were great players. He then singled out RVN and said he was only decent, and wasn't sad to lose him. C'mon the guy was his top scorer for his entire time there, and broke their Euro goal record. Have the guts to admit you lost a good player

Ruuds performances were ineffective and since we got rid we've won the league twice and european cup
I think Sir Alex was just disappointed by Ruuds lack of fight but again if Ruud was performing to his level, he wouldn't have been dropped and he probably would still be at United

Wigan have Valencia, who turned down a move to madrid. Portsmouth have Jermaine Pennant who turned down a move to Madrid. (And had a 2-0 lead against Milan until the 82nd minute!) City have Robinho who refused to play for Madrid, and have spent more than them consistently. All three teams would probably beat Madrid. All except boro who really are shite.
Premier league isnt competitive at all.

No, Pennant turned down Madrid as they did not offer him enough money. Wigan and City won't make the CL as the four teams England provides fill most of the semi finals. However, judging by the easy progress of city through the UEFA cup any estimations about being destroyed look way off.

Van is awesome. Ferguson's a great coach but he's got only 1 Champions League when he should have two more with the rescources he's had. Ferguson's real problem is with his own tactics, he played RVN up front alone and couldn't win Europe with a 4-5-1 (so painful to watch). Also, SAHA has hardly been an adequate replacement in goal production. Now arguably, MANU play better as a team without RVN but who was it that built the attack around him in the first place - yeah, that's right SAF.

As soon as beckham left Ruud was not as good. It was a pity to see him not score as much because he was fantastic. Saha is good but he's made of glass, wouldn't surprise me if he left this summer for someone else, maybe huntelaar or berbatov.

Ruud was a great servant of Man Utd and is still a great goal scorer. However he hasn't been the same all round player since his achilles injury in 2004. It was the right decision to sell him but United needed to but a replacement over the summer. Saha is a fine player but never fit.
