  • i can't believe this hot bitch is 62...

  • I'm sorry. I can't hear you over your boobs in that dress.

  • she is so sweet and adorable and beautiful and i love her so much.

  • I love her awful Southern English accent! Bless her!

  • My all time favorite!!!!!

  • There is no one in the world quite like Bernadette and probably never will be again. But I have to admit, Sutton Foster is darned close :)

  • Oh how I love this woman.

  • I love her so much!!!

  • I love this song. Have loved Bernadette for so many years. I've been fortunate enough to see her on Broadway in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, and Bebe Neuwirth in CHICAGO! Dreams come true, both perfromances!!

If I could ONLY see Hugh Jackman!!

  • love her so much♥ she has a gorgeous voice

  • She needs to pull up her dress. :S

  • Fantastico, brilliant song, brilliant voice

  • check out eve sherratt s version much better to me anyway

  • Lol she loves those strapeless low-cut dresses.

  • JUST LOVE HERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

  • @onlysutonfostersgood Have you actually seen Sutton Foster perform? She's okay, but she's NOT great at all! Check out her videos on Youtube and you'll see how lackluster and overrated she is. And although you have 200+ Youtube accounts that you use to flag comments that don't favor your idol, I'll just keep re-posting if you keep marking mine as spam. I won't go away, you Sutton Foster troll!

  • @onlysutonfostersgood You make me laugh, troll! Why would ANYONE want to be like an overrated performer? Lol!

  • I fell in love with this song when I bought the cassette tape of this musical in 1988 while I was in the Army. I had never heard of this musical but I knew of the beautiful and talented B.P.I 23 years later I just saw FOLLIES in New York and waited at the stage door after....I recieved an autograph from B. P. and my brother took a pic of us. I blithered like an idiot. What a wonderful life. Thank you Bernadette Peters and ERICMCHICAGO for this. BTW, I was born and raised in Chicago.

  • my hair looks just like that.

  • @singbeautifulforme Than you are a fortunate person.

  • Performances like this remind me of why I love musical theatre... Even though sometimes I get it into my head that I should give it up and pursue something else. I don't think I ever could <3

  • she is something !

  • She's been my idol for sixteen years (I'm only eighteen), I've seen just about all of her films, have all of her cd's, have seen her in concert twice, and she still blows me away. I can't get over her raw talent and her ability to move me no matter what she's singing. She IS Broadway.

  • "hows my accent? alright?" lol i love her

  • How does this even have dislikes.

  • ha i meant to say dye my hair red!

  • Oh i love her SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!! my friends got mad at me cause i was singing this at lunch! Also i LOVE her HAIR!!! it makes me want to bye my hair red and get a crazy perm!!

  • Oh WOW - she really moves me - she is so fantastic.

  • i am SO happy i have tickets to see her in febuary

  • My voice teacher always uses her as an argument to the other voice professors at my school who think a chest voice and belting is unhealthy. He says that there are healthy ways to do it otherwise Bernadette and Patti wouldn't have such long and healthy careers. (She also has a beautiful and healthy head voice)

  • It's Draco Malfoy on the piano! >:D

  • I need to go to bed so bad, but I can't stop watching.

  • Im such a fan of Miss Peters :)

I'd be terrified to wear that dress haha

    Her voice is beautiful :)

And she's so funny :) ...'while holding a microphone'... 'hows my accent?' haha love her xxx

  • Amazing. Ageless beauty and voice.

  • I have never cared for Andrew Lloyd Weber but some of his best and most overlooked work came from SONG AND DANCE, not only this song, which Bernadette soars at but also Come Back with the Same Look in Your Eyes.

  • @TheatreFilmBuff i had to look that one up! It's great!

  • @TheatreFilmBuff It's true. I daresay it's my favourite of his shows. I also really like Capped Teeth and Caesar Salad. I find it greatly amusing =P

  • Frig, I love her.

  • Didn't notice her boobs once until I read the other comments.... Definitely gay.

  • @claraakane Thanks mister! :)

  • SHE IS A GODDESS. I LOVE HER

  • How rude "truth searching". You`re more like "ball bustingh". When you have the talent to get up there and attempt to match this Performing Artists career then MAYBE we`ll listen to your mishegas.

  • so she ended her last note too soon? is why she grimaced at the end?

  • I think I've watched this video about twenty five times in the last hour. I'm slightly in love with Bernadette Peters. I don't know what she does, but she's just so fantastic.

  • @maryrose707 buy the dvd of into the woods have you seen it ? xx she describes presence :) xx

  • @04turners Does she? Now I have to go buy the DVD.

  • @maryrose707 is that an attempt of sarcasm ?

  • @04turners Not at all. I had been watching Into the Woods on Netflix, because I had no reason to buy it. But I actually want to know how she describes presence. I kind of Love her. :P

  • @maryrose707 Sorry sorry sorrry :/ xx feel bad now hehe xx yeh she is incredible xxx

  • I want her dress. Like, badly.

  • 9 peoples mouse slipped and they hit the wrong button!

  • "and she's writing a letter to her mom... while holding a microphone" Love her <3

  • I always wanted hair like that.

  • @PeaceNdLovee omg me too!!!!!! her hair is amazing!!!

  • She is amazing. Simply amazing. I'm stunned.

  • She's so cute in this! Her side comments are so funny!

  • I just love the way she throws herself into this and give it everything

  • She's writing a letter to her mum...while holding a microphone. :) She's so adorable!

  • FUCK yeah

  • I won't deny that Bernadette has a gorgeous voice, far better than I am for sure. I probably can't even hit that high of a note on the tuba.

But, when I first heard this song, it was sung by an unknown fourteen year-old girl that blew probably anyone out of the water.

I hear Bernadette sing it, and I do believe this 14 year-old girl has some competition now.

  • Man that's gotta hurt. I'm pretty sure I saw her wince in pain after she was done singing. She's good at what she does.

  • Comment removed

  • @Marinizzlefoshizzle yea I noticed too only I'm not sure why she winced...did she pull something while she was doing all those crazy arm swings? Hahha. I love herrrr.

  • @Marinizzlefoshizzle towards the end of the song, there are a few lines where the orchestra rushed her. she slowed down a bit, but the tempo of orchestra didn't. it's about from 3:50 onwards. i guess she was a bit unsatisfied with that little mistake.

  • @claraakane Actually it seems to be a stylistic choice she makes/made. If you look at the other versions she performed that are on YouTube, she singing in half time there as well; it seems unlikely that she would make a change during a performance where they probably rehearsed, plus she did originate the role, I would venture to guess her wince, if anything, would perhaps be as someone else said because maybe she hurt her shoulder - she seems to massage it - while swinging herself.

  • I'm singing this song in voice lessons and I've recently become obsessed with "Into The Woods", particularly Bernadette's role in it. Basically this is just what I needed. She is officially one of my idols, she's fantastic. I don't have words that are good enough to describe her. Not only that, her facial expressions really sell the song. Not only is she an incredible singer, but also an actress.

  • omg she looks 28

  • Backphrase much?

  • Drew a tear. 'Nough said.

  • boobs...

  • one word that describes her : wonderfullyfantasticawesomegreatlovedbeautifultalentedtimelessadorableheroinvinsible -3

  • i was just told that this song pretty much sums up how i make this girl, that ive pretty much fallen for, feel...makes me feel special :)

  • Is it the camera or was the audience somehow not standing for the ovation?

  • @lastunusedname so true. [:

  • i keep listening and yelling the words to this FRICKEN' addicting- fantanstic- beautifully sung song & my 5 year old sister is like ' BRIANNA SHUTTUPPP ! ' lmfaaaaoo <3 i cant stop. Same thing happened last night , but with my mom 0_o

  • i love this -3333 ' while holding a microphone.. ' & i can tell she was thinking about her husband - R.I.P ):

  • She is AMAZING!!!

    period!

    End of discussion!!!

I really wish people would stop commenting on her dress... it's gorgeous, she looks amazing for 60 and it's not about that it's about the music and how talented she is!!!

    :)

  • @thegingerbreadgirl16 wait..she was sixty here? she looks like a 25

  • @undeadelite i know! i wiki'd her just for fun and it said she was born in 1948, and i was like "WHAT?! She looks so young!"

  • good lord i love that Bob Mackie Dress!!!!!! i want one just like it!!!

  • @charmedfin77 when she got married, bob desinged her wedding gown

  • wholy shit we are sinning this song in chorus and this is exactly how i pictured sinning it and i never ever heard this song befor or how its supposed to sound!

  • Really good. I just wish she didn't flail quite so much.

  • She is just an amazing SINGER!!! That is all. With the passion!

  • Even great artists can get better. I just watched an earlier (younger) Bernadette version of this, and then this. Maturity becomes her. She was great then, but now she's indescribable.

  • I love her so much and im convinced she has found the fountain of youth.... is it just me or does she still look EXACTLY like she did in the 80s?

  • I love Bernadette Peters. There is something about her voice that I love.

  • What kind of grump can't appreciate a beautiful, talented woman like Bernadette Peters? Even her skin is cream. Our only question is what the hell is holding that dress up?

  • probably her best song and definately andrew lloyd webbers best

  • love this song

  • could actually listen to her singing all day <3

  • shes so amazing, i've had this song stuck in my head all week. i must've watched this a million times i cant beleive she's in her 60's, i can only hope to look as good as that in my 40's!!

    <3

  • I keep trying to play her in the background and get some work done, but I just can't keep my eyes off her.

  • i did a lyrical solo to this song. it was probably the best solo i did. i won the highest scores with it. i miss it.

  • her dress.....hanging by a thread huh?

  • One of her best. She could do anything, sing, act, comedy---truly not enough hours in the day or proper vehicles to really display her enormous gifts. Not many with that much to offer---Dorothy Loudon comes to mind, uniquely blessed, with the guts of a burglar. Until YouTube, I didn't really appreciate the breadth of talent on stage. I'm having a blast checking them out.

  • I aspire to be her someday...

  • How the frack is she 60 here? She looks 40!

  • OMG!! That dress is just amaaaaazing! and her voice too.. love her! :D

  • opittome of femininity~

  • her dress is beautiful

  • she's so cute!

  • Some women never age. She is one of them. Keep it up, you're awesome and for the last time, stop commenting on her boobs. Obviously that is the only thing you had time for when watching the video -ladies because you wasted it on leaving rude words instead of complimenting her beautiful voice and talent.

The stench of jealousy is thick.

  • @DrunkenPiano Why is it if a woman doesn't care for another woman's dress, it's a jealousy issue? I'd be scared to wear that thing, it does look like one wrong breath and it'll pop off. That's the fault of the designer, not Bernadette. Otherwise the dress looks great, and she looks great in it.

  • what control! amazing...

  • Nice to see that she's gained some self confidence and doesn't cry any more during the first minute of a song.

  • Wonderful and sad sound track.

  • i love her to death, and i love that dress...but i don't love her boobs in that dress. cover it up, B.

  • @hellokitt1234 While I agree, I also know if my boobs look like this when I'm 62, it will be very tempting to show the world.

  • @rebeccawesome AhAhAHA, true.

  • Lindo* / Beautiful** / Maravilloso! É uma linda música, procurem Amanda Neves cantando no Programa Raul Gil / It's a beautiful song, search for Amanda Neves singing it at "Programa Raul Gil" / Es una linda canción, busquen a Amanda Neves cantando en el "Programa Raul Gil"

  • I saw this in London way back in 1982. I was really interested in seeing it because Lulu was doing the part. Of course the night I went she was out and her understudy did it. She was quite good but I was really curious how Lulu, more of a pop singer then a musical theater singer, would do in the part.

  • For God's sake what was her age in this concert? :D

  • @KairiHawkeye 60, she's 62 now.

  • @KairiHawkeye 60- (DOB-Feb. 28, 1948)

  • nice tits

  • I need for her to sing this at my wedding! :')

  • I <3 her! she's amazing in Into the Woods too

  • Anyone with a chance to see Bernadette in person, shoud go. It won't be a concert padded with filler from some new album nobody cares about. She starts right out playing the "big cards." She will absolutely blow you away.

  • I've watched her since the 70's but never really appreciated her until now......this is my 6th video of her and it all started with "What'll I Do" on the tonight show....it looks like a long night for me!!!

  • I saw this song performed by Claire Sweeny in Tell me on a Sunday last night at the Hawth Theatre in Crawley - Sussex. She was amazing - spellbinding. Just wonderful. Would definitely recommend if coming to a theatre near you.

  • Listen to that passion! Those last 30 seconds just give me chills. Is she an amazing woman, or what!?

  • I want her voice! It's soo lovely :)

  • Hmmm. Try asking Justin Beiber to cover this.

  • @film017forever LOL!

  • @film017forever please noone ask him !

  • Well I love Bernadette and Betty Buckley.. they are different, but both of them do such wonderful emotions, Sarah Brightman's version, yikes, so flat and like she is just copying a song

  • "how's my accent? alright?" hahahaha i love it!!!

  • Had the honor to see her on Broadway in 'SONG AND DANCE'. She won the Tony Award for that great performance. She is just great!

  • @CancunCharlie im soooo jealous

  • I just saw here in "A little night music". And by "saw her" I mean I saw her naked.

No really, in the show she flashes her costar by opening her robe with her back to the audience. But I was sitting in the front row, farthest stage right as you can get. And I saw EVERYTHING. Maybe I be in that good of shape when I'm 62.

  • I think it would have been nice to acknowledge the lyricist Don Black

  • I wish I had my own piano player I 'd never leave the house!!!

  • There's just something special about Bernadette Peters, isn't there?

  • @islamazon1 Indeed there is!

  • @islamazon1 There most certainly is.

  • @islamazon1

:3 yeah, she's the only thing that really stands out from my childhood for some reason xD

  • @islamazon1 Yes!

  • @bipinbarr wow, you are utter scumbag.

  • @denisonM Seriously right! How do you complain about someone on here?

  • Her voice is just as good as her boobs!

  • adorable.....

  • i love bernadette peters, especially in into the woods.

  • I will always be in love with Bernadette Peters. Always. <3

  • i love how she really expresses herself through it, she's so funny and has an amazing voice. i love her =D

  • i still think ria is her carrer's greatest achievement

  • she is a beautiful siren, too lovely and magical for this world.

  • is it just me or are her boobs almost popping out? :p

  • @fujin2k

No, she needs to pull it up, just a tad. You're not imagining it. XD

  • @StrikeBrief I hope she curtsied instead of bowed! LOL

  • She's so funny and the voice is AMAZING.

  • someone just said that bernadette doesn't have a strong voice and it's best she sticks to songs that don't need a big range or voice.

i told them to look up this performance. right about now they're eating their words.

  • @ashleysamoska who said that? not a strong voice? Whoever said that must not know anything about real musicality... Bernadette is loved by the culturally-refined and the intellectuals... those who don't appreciate her are dimwits....

  • @bonbonquest

one of my friends. they don't appreciate this kind of music; they like jay-z and ke$ha.

LIKE THEY'RE SO GREAT. haha. i totally agree with you; even sondheim called her flawless!

  • @ashleysamoska She's using her head voice for most of her high notes... That's hardly an achievement. She's a mezzo-soprano with a very nice melisma but I wouldn't call her voice "strong".

  • @ashleysamoska another good example would be her performance of Falling in Love With Love from Rogers and Hamerstine's Cinderella

  • Ms Peters is the consummate artist performer who sings this song as if it were made wear for her. I love her freedom of style she is very comfortable singing this song. The song is a marvelous composition by Sir Lloyd Webber.

  • OMG I LOVE HER!!!

  • She has a good voice but she makes me laugh!

  • Cool. I fee like watching Annie now.

  • And she's writing a letter to her mum.

    *looks at the micro*

    While holding a microphone!

    XDDD

She's SO cool and such an awesome singer!!!

  • awesome!

  • Who needs an accent when you've got pipes like that!? She's phenomenal!

  • She is perfect.

  • Lovely woman. Brilliant performance.

  • Lovely performance

  • Spectacular performer !!!

  • Don´t miss out Actress Maggie Graham as " Carol Chanelling " doing her version of Bernadette Peters here on YouTube, It´s hysterically funny...
