I think they are year 9 , so 13 or 14, at the royal ballet school the year 7s wear pink, the year 8s wear cornflower blue and then I think it goes on to the maroon/red
I've just had to come here from watching rhythmic gymnastics. All the time I was thinking 'this just wants to be ballet, and isn't'. Made me realise just what a standard for movement this discipline really does set, and I love it all the more!
The girl at 0.23 was on a short contract for Swan Lake with the ENB (English National Ballet). If you watch the BBC 4 Documentary, A Year with The ENB you will see her there.
That luck teneis girls ^^ I always have dreamed with baylar in londres but my ogles and smuy villain, me encantaria was improving but my dream is alemania But voi to going in navidades to the royala classes to receive luck
...Im thinking...I know what im taking now...Art...DT...and DANCE!
I preform Ballet outside of school in Cornwall at The Annette school of dance,im almost 13 at my school, and now I know what im taking all thanks to this video...I feel so happy now...
@LenaDelovely that is not necessarily true. Im a figure skater but my coach's daughter who was a ballet dancer was not accepted by most companies as she was "too short" .. she was a beautiful dancer tho
it just makes me sad that to progress so farin ballet you have to be born with the right body, right feet etc.I love ballet but im too short, its unfair, because there are so many amazing dancers out there but never get seen simply because of their figure.
I'm turning 15 in September yet I seem to project on to people that I am a good deal younger! See where I'm going? I have friends that are my age that look 17, I have friends hat are 11 and look 9. They may not be 13 as at RBS WL you don't apply to a specific year, and they place you wherever, but they most probably are as in WL you are usually not skipped, unless you are like... Darcey Bussell only a few centimetres shorter. Oh and, this was not said in a catty, mean way... to be cont.
cont... (things don't usually transfer well in writing) it was just said as an answer. But honestly, I'm almost 15 and look... not almost 15! And as a random side note, dancers seem to always look slightly young forever! Bliss...
People think ballet is not hard because the dancers make it look effortless, in baseball you see the people tired and sweating so it makes it look like they have worked harder. This is why ballet is so hard! Because of the grace!
I know every sport is dificult, baseball isn't harder than ballet, same as ballet isn't harder than swimming.
In a level, (professional) every sport, or art, is really, REALLY difficult. The thing with ballet is that it combines, the hard excersice part, and the artistic part...but its an art, not a sport, we shall not compare baseball with ballet, they are completely diferent.
Darcey is so sweet, and funny, I so miss her dancing. She is my favourite ballet dancer.
Darcy is my favourite too. I completely agree with you SophieNeveudancer. Ballet should not be compared with baseball, though I am slightly prejudice. Don't they all say it takes an athlete to play sport, but an artist to dance. Onto some lighter topics I would really appreciate if someone could help me. Are there any special kind of diets/exercises, that people attending these sort of full-time ballet school have to do. It's just they all seem skinny and healthy at the same time.
@SophieNeveudancer Do you do ballet ? Trust me, it's a sport. Combined with art, I agree. But you do use your body, and that part is veryyy intense, plus the artistic part, the grace and the "make it look easy" part.
@MissBouclette1 Actually i do ballet, i know how intense it is, and, i respect your opinion, because yes, lets admit it, us ballet dancers (me too) always get angry because everyone say it is "easy" just because we smile, but i think that is the beauty, we are not a sport, we are an art, a fine hard as hell art, we dont care about how tired we are, about the pain, or about winning, we care about feeling the dance. Yet i agree, withour the artistic part it would be just like gymnastics.
oh trust me ballet is harder than swimming, it is more demanding, in swiming you are free in ballet you must be completly controlled but must make it look effortless and light!
which makes the fact of playing baseball stupid. you're an asshole. ballet is extremely hard, it takes way more work than baseball does. seriously. you don't even know.
nope, why do you think baseball players are so much richer? they practice everyday for hours and hours, and they play almost everyday. and they get injured alot faster mets for example just about there whole starting lineup got injured right before david right got a concusion by getting hit in the head. and btw this was 4 months ago, dont bring it up again bitch
I love ballet my favorite part is swan lake and pointe especially when you get to wear those high top shoes. Where is this school at? please reply soon pretty please.

They are not so short. And they make everything in a very bad way. In Russia girls of their age make really harder things perfectly.

In ballet, they wipe off the sweat when they go off stage before they go back on stage again so dancers may not appear as tired.
