  • I can't wait until my gunsmith can wrangle some up here to Canada. I'll deffinitely be picking one up.

  • 230000 total grains of copper-plated lead. Enjoy the shooting in which I bet you will.

  • That was cool.I wanted to see what the recoil on the SR1911 was like.

  • how much did it cost

  • Hickok45 where did u buy this

  • @SuperLuke33 in the 1st video description it was a T&E gun from Ruger, he bought it from them instead of returning it.

  • Where can I buy one?

  • @SuperLuke33 get on the waiting list with the rest of us, 2 months to a year backordered :(

  • @ThumpR8080 1.3 million now on order.

  • hey sir did you buy that wepon or return it. I have a springfeild 1911a1 gi modle and is great and I shoot better with it than any of my xd or glocks. My ffl has 5 sr1911 on back order and Im thinking of giving him a depot. to ensure I get one because he has them priced cheeper than what I paid for my gi modle. would you recommend the sr1911 i.e. did you buy it our return it

  • @jnpiel, I bought it.

  • first gun i ever learn to shoot was my granpa's 1911 U.S army edition 1902.. never jamed on him never jamed or broke wene my old man had it and it never jamed or broke now that i have it..the only thing is wrong with it is on the left side it lossing the nickle color on it becouse my grandpa and dad would mexican carry it all the time.. love ur vids hickok45

  • you make me jelous with all that ammo sweet sweet sweet.

  • 230x1000/7000=32.857 lbs.

  • 35.714285

  • What are the range distances from where you shoot for your metallic targets?

  • @taoist53 i believe he has targets from 5 yards all the way to the gong which is 80-100 yards. Im not 100% sure tho. There is also one target thats 230 or so that he shoots on occasion.

  • dammit, i almost thought he really made a mistake with his hickok math... bwahha

  • Hickok, I was wondering howcome you don't wear a proper gunbelt?

  • @khyoon14, To quote the late, great William Shakespeare, "One man's 'proper' gun belt is another man's trash."

  • until youve shot it

  • 1911's make for great guns you really cant have a whole lot of respect for a gun youve never shot

  • I have a real odd question for you. I see you mainly switch between two kinds of ear plugs. Can I get a run down of what you use and whats your favorite or your suggestions for ear plugs.

  • That is such a beautiful gun.

  • your voice so fits you

  • whats the difference between a Kimber Stainless ii and the ruger 1911, or the other 1911s? they look very much alike :P

  • I like your style.

  • 3.2 pounds

  • Kali probably rejected it because of the series 70 slide. Ruger would either has to give a bunch to the state to test or make one with the firing pin block.

  • @dc12pk Kali rejected it because "they" conditioned the sheeple into accepting it. California, Mass, NJ, NY,CT IL all the end result of idiots electing crooked idiots

  • No matter what gun we love, it's the bullet that binds us together.

  • Comment removed

  • 33 pounds

  • can i buy a bullet from u?

  • i bet there is close to 1000lbs of lead burried in that hill

  • For my first 1911 I was thinking about getting a Springfield. Then a Colt... but now I might just get a SR1911! But must do more research first.

  • @mustangx218 I GOT ONE IT IS MONEY WELL SPENT THESE GUNS ARE GREAT

  • @MrMatt5252 Just found out that they are not allowed in Kalifornia. :(

  • @mustangx218 WHY IS THAT THEY HOLD LESS THAN 10 ROUNDS?

  • @MrMatt5252 California only allows certain guns that are on the roster and this isn't on it.

  • @mustangx218 California sounds worse than Canada man, we can have 1911's and we don't need bullet buttons on our AR's. Are the laws there really that bad?

  • How do you grip a 1911,,. And shoot So good,, I got a kimber and I'm all over the place

  • @oOodee There is a technique to a 1911 that you'll get the hang of. Try both thumbs forward, finger pad only on the trigger, 4 points of contact all the way around the grip.

Practice dry firing focusing on your front sight, and make sure it does not move when you break the trigger. Slowly squeeze the trigger rearward until it breaks, this should be a "surprise", not a total 'wtf' surprise, but nonetheless a small miniature surprise. The front sight post should not move at all. Good luck

  • I had the same feed problem with Federal on my R1 Centennial in the first 50 rounds, I think the feed ramp was a bit too sharp before it got worn in (after the first 50 I never saw the problem again). I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the lowers were cast at the same place, although I must contest that the R1 Centennial is a lot prettier, even if it does have a firing pin safety...

  • Hickok,u look like ur not feeling any recoil off that 45 beast of a 1911 ,,how do u do it my dude?

  • Hickok, only you could make a full size 1911 look small.

  • i wish my backyard looked like that

  • Rounds to 32.9 lbs.

  • awesome video

  • hickok45, do companies send their products to you on behalf of your youtube channel?

  • Never do I get more annoyed by youtube freezes than when I'm watching hickok45!

  • Great video again I always enjoy your videos

    Thank you so much

  • "He died an impressive death" oh hickok, you're my favorite youtuber xD

  • ~32.8# of lead...

  • Just discovered your Videos and I appreciate them more than you could know. Common sense gun info. is becoming rare. Have you ever done a video about setting up a shooting range? Mainly how to avoid ricochets.

  • say, how much for the dueling tree? ive seen one of these on that show "top shot" and i always tell people about it and nobody's ever seen one. that sounds like a blast.....well, with two people.... hahaha btw great vids! keep it up

  • ordered one today......... Back orders make me sad

  • i was gonna get a ruger sr1911 till i found out that it wasn't legal in ca so i went a bought a kimber royal 2

  • 32.86

  • I love watching this guy shoot more than i like to do it!!!

  • 32.857 approx.

  • @USMCMarques It appears to be the Crossbreed Supertuck holster.

  • @Weaponcollecter16 Thank you

  • i got 33.333333 pounds

  • I always need .45 ammo :)

  • Best.Backyard.Ever. @_@

  • sold my SA Mil Spec 1911 A1 SS so I can buy one of these. Have my name a list at several stores so as soon as I can I am getting the Ruger SR1911

  • so beutifull no words

  • snappedk with dat 1911

  • you should try and tune your plates

  • Great video. I'm a new subscriber. Unfortunately I will have to jump through some hoops to get an SR1911 here in The People's Republik. Too bad since I'm a Ruger fan. :(

    oh... 7000gr of Bullseye = 1400 rds of 230gr FMJ... ;)

  • I've been trying to decide which 1911 I want. Between the Smith & Wesson and the Ruger

  • @thecaptainofcritical Well, if you haven't already, you ought to go to your preferred gun store and hold/fondle both to see which you prefer.

  • That's about 32.857142857...........pounds of lead. I'm very jealous Sir. I love my Sig 226 9mm, but something about that 1911. Grandfather carried one driving an H-boat at Normandy...just gotta have one and that Ruger is true to the original design with only the needed improvements. Thank you for yet another excellent video Mr. H.45.

  • Checked out ammoforsale/com but they dont ship to Alaska. Good prices though.

  • like a box of gold:)

  • That is 32.8 pounds of Lead

  • the 230 shoots better thin the 200 i thank

  • 32.8 pounds of lead.

  • at 20.85 grams total bullet weight (including Primer, case, powder, and bullet; according to the manufacturer's website) you have 46 Pounds of ammunition there. =D

  • u sir, are having wayyy tooo much fun - _ -

  • Hey hickock, What do think about this compared to the springfield GI milspec stainless. I bought the Gi milspec because of the origionality of it. but also because of the ruger investment casting.

  • I envy you.. this reminds me of when I was 5 and I would line up army men and shoot em with a red ryder allll day... instead you use real firearms and you have 1000 dollars worth of .45 ACP at your disposal... lucky man

  • I love this gun...

  • @kaos3124 - Yeah, the guy you're referring to is a real embarrassment. I dislike his voice, most of his viewpoints, the way he tries to act like G.I. Joe with ridiculously modified Ruger 10/22's. But most of all, I hate the way he or his sister delete just about every comment that expresses an opinion that is contrary to their own. Absurd.

  • Hey Hickok, what holster are you using in this video? I've recently purchased an SR1911 and was wondering what you would recommend for an IWB holster.

  • im surprised u don't role in it that would be awesome

  • You may have been asked this before , but have you or do you shoot the +p+ rounds ? they clain 1200 fps , which is getting close to my magnum's velocities (.357 , .44 , and .500 respectivly) , just wondering how they perform.

  • Comment removed

  • god.. isn't this expsensive?.. i want shooting as a hobby xD

  • 32.8 pounds of lead exactily you dont even know how proud i am right now i did thst in my head then checked it on a calculater

  • what holster u runnin? considering getting this 1911 and getting a ccl.

  • 32.8 pounds of lead

  • will there be a chapter 3 on the sr1911? i have one on order from a local gun shop and cant wait to pick it up

  • Ya shoot naturally to the left with that pistol...perhaps adjust.

    Just saying

  • love a good american made 1911

  • Hi, love your videos, do you ever have any rounds come back at you shooting the metal targets at close range?

  • Hey HIckok have you found this pistol to be accurate? There have been a few reviews online that say this gun is only capable of groups at 4" at 25 yards and others have reviewed the SR1911 with it putting 1.3" groups at 25 yards. Does anyone else have any experience with this pistol?

  • Hickok is it possible to bullet bounces off and goes to you

  • @zzizioziom thats where the hardened steel part comes in. It just sort of falls off of the target, but I still wouldnt do it close range.

  • When shooting 1911's do you ride the safety? I haven't been and my shooting is a bit off when I adjust to it. Also what would you say has had the best out of box trigger pulls for 9mm? Maybe top 3 for some variety ;)

  • This guy is the best. Hick I've seen so many of your vids that I'm always learning. Here in jersey all these liberals really give us all hard times. It sucks. Hick I wish u have the time to answer more questions from your fans.

  • I really like the ruger 1911 i always thought ruger made one of the best revolver and i want the 1911 have u had many problems or anything with as much as u have shot it i have watched both videos and didnt see any but any problems even off camera ?

  • Thanks for the video Hickok, looks like it's going to be a good gun for years to come.

  • WHAT HURTS MORE A HIT FROM A 20 LB SLEDGE AT 5 FPS

OR A HIT FROM A 12 OZ HAMMER AT 60 FPS??? WEIRD THE

HEAVY FOR CALIBER CROWD DOESN'T SEEM TO OFFER A

    COUNTER LOGIC

  • @tubevideoguy762 the slower 45 acp is a notorious man stopper while the 9mm is faster and works fine its not as effective by the way guns are meant to kill not hurt ..... and take caps lock off it makes people look like assholes ... the 45 was designed to knock down a person charging you with a bayonet and it is quite effective for its purpose

  • @TheBassGuitarist1

......yep use of caps lock in that way is an asshole-ish action, oh well but the 9mm is still a rather powerful round it's only the light 115 gr fmj bullets being hated on if you put one 147 gr +p+ bonded hollow point into someones torso that's lights out.

  • @tubevideoguy762 the 147 grain is real nice for the 9mm cant deny that

  • @tubevideoguy762 it sucks though that the military cant use hollow points ........ but yeah like i said caps lock is annoying

  • Hickok if you had to choose between the SR 1911 or SA range officer which would it be?

  • 8 People don't have proper trigger control...

  • i bet if we got all the lead hickok has ever shot we could build a whole tank division.

  • Hey I recently found this video after pre ordering my SR1911, and was wondering what brand of mags you are using. I see that you can buy extra mags on the Ruger website for 40$ seems a bit steep.

  • @ericmorgan27 Not sure what he used but I know any standard 1911 mag will fit. If I were you, I would order the Kimber 10 rounders. They shorten the amount of reloading and load just fine. Happy shooting!

  • check the new apex1911 45acp from philippines

  • hickok kindly check my video about the apex1911 45acp from shooters armsphilippines..thanks man

  • You are one lucky bastard! I'm jealous of all your toys.

  • 32.8 pounds of lead

  • I figure an ole boy like yourself would roll his own.

  • one after noon 7 guns (four .22 one 30.06 one 22-250 one 223) 4000 22 rounds 2 dead poplar tree and and 5 happy boys lol

  • 999 round confirmed.....i counted

  • 32.8571429 lbs to be exact.

  • @beachyd1 I have a couple Kimbers and you are right about the 500 round break in on those. My understanding for that is the initial fit on kimbers is very tight. Individual break ins will vary depending on fit and finish. The tight the gun the more break in it's going to need.

  • Whilst buying some ammo in my local gun shop, I went to look at their guns and they had some SR1911s in stock. I have to say it looks great and the fit and finish was excellent. My LGS loves to mark up their guns but the SR1911 was only $670. I very nearly bought it but I'm saving the pennies for an HK P30 :)

  • Hickock how'd you like that S&B ammo? The price is certainly right on it.

  • @smith45acp , It's been good ammo.

  • Comment removed

  • @smith45acp This is excellent ammo. It is very consistent, (100% feed, fire, and eject), accurate in my COLT MKIV Series 70 Government model(2 inch groups @ 25 yards) , and the brass is very high quality.

  • @hickok45 When are you going to do a contest or something and invite a fan over for a video shoot? I'd love to come shoot on your range, it looks like a lot of fun.

Hope your not effected by the floods.

  • Hey Kickok--Is that a comptac holster you're using?

  • @kaos3124 Haha.

  • I like this gun,However as investment casting gets stronger so does steel forgings due to stronger modern steels,Forged frames for me,This gun has alot of great features for the money. But since its ruger im surprised the slide is forged as they have allways used alot of casting, in their revolvers,mini14,30,they even cast the receivers for springsfields M1a,So im glad they made the slide forged steel.Great sights on the gun as well. Not alot would have to be changed,Great gun out of the box./

  • @1911acolt1 Not only is the slide forged but the slide and bushing are from the same block which is great...

  • how far is the gong from where you are shooting?

  • @xXChamilitary 80 yards

  • what is a good affordable pistol, preferably a .357.

  • 32.86 lbs

  • 32 pounds!

  • Bet your neighbors think you hate wind chimes!!

  • I wondered how long it would take to mention glock. Do you think glock will make a 1911?

  • @smuger357 No never...

  • Hickok's Tennessee math........After fingers and toes........anything goes!

  • 16 pounds

  • I like Ruger firearms, having owned a Blackhawk single action in .44 Magnum many years ago. But their customer service policy requires you to send the gun to their facility for repair every time a part like a trigger or ratchet breaks, and these parts cannot be ordered from their retailers. My hunting revolvers see hard use and I go through a lot of spare parts. I have a machine shop now and can make my own parts, but for someone who doesn't, repairing a Ruger is time-consuming.

  • @Rachen30 too bad there isnt a place that can repair mutilated corpses you sick freak

  • thats the kind of church bells i love to hear, andi hope that wasnt real beer!

  • Can you do a review on a UZI

  • That magazine release switch seems to stick out pretty far: how did you like it?

  • hickok do you own a vz61 skorpion? if not could you ever do a shooting video with one

  • Hey hickok been watching ya for a while and just took advantage of that promo code :) granted im still in Afghanistan for 4 more months, but i'll have quite the supply of 357. and 38. specials waiting for me when I get back lol great videos they get me through this deployment

  • @dendokast

Hey Soldier, thanks for your service to our country, make it home safely.

  • @dendokast Thank you for your service!

  • @dendokast what branch are you in im only 14 but i want to join the marine corps

  • What's Hickok's email?

  • How much do one of those cost

  • 32.85714 pounds.

  • @ maximebuchi. your first consideration should be budget. if money isnt an issue, you should probly find a store that will allow you to test fire what you want to get. it should be more about what feels good to you than brand. ive seen guys with $1000 1911's sell them and get a taurus 1911 cause it felt better to them. just sayin

  • I want to buy a 1911 but I am a bit lost. Beyond personal preferences, tastes, are ratinal reasons to chose a brand or another? I am thinking Ruger or Kimber. Any advice?

  • Love watching your videos Hickok45. You need Bikini clad Ladies loading mags for you. Just a thought..

  • I love that new tree addition !! I bet that would be tons of fun. Id like to see if a .22 would have the energy to move it from one side to the other.

  • Gee, what a awesome video. I truly do like that Ruger SR 1911. I need to find me one those real soon. A big thanks to ammoforsale for donating the ammo to you so you shoot more...like the Ruger SR 1911. That is a very nice tree you and John put on the range. Keep up the great work and awesome videos.

  • hey hickok, I'm a huge fan of your videos, a gun afficionado and I believe in the right to bear arms (even if I say that over here in Austria- that is sometimes a difficult topic- sadly) Anyway. I'd been thinking on gettin' myself a Glock 21 and since I know you a huge Glock fanand probably know a lot about 'em: could or would you recommend me that one? Or should I rather go for something smaller (either in caliber or in size)?

  • should shoot duel wield...lol

  • 35 pounds

  • I'm looking to buy either a Glock 19 Gen 4 or 23 Gen 4. It'll be my first handgun purchase and have a couple questions for you. I'm a lefty, do Glocks have a lefty configuration or at least a mag release on the opposite side? Also, which is the best bang for my buck when it comes to ammo, both 9mm and .40 cal? Any help would be appreciated. Thx!

  • Hello hickok45, keep the good vids comming! My 4 year old son and I both enjoy watching your videos. While watching this one my son said he had to go get toy shotgun in order to watch you shoot at the range! :) Thought you may get a kick out of that!

  • You should do a video of how fast you shoot the tree target you got as accurately as possible and reloading as fast you can with all 8 mags! Like so he can see!

  • id pay the guy who touched that barrel

  • un saludo para mi abuelito hickok 45

  • no no, his math was correct, he said 260 is twice as much as 130. the error is that he isnt shooting 130 grain bullets lmao

  • Hehe funny guy, happy as a child while shoting^^
