  • Uncle Jun is gonna be prick to the very end. He takes this shit to grave. Real fucking hard ass criminal.

  • Such a sad scene. Damn, that finale was really something else.

  • Also the last shot of Tony walking to camera.

Something they would always do throughout the show.

  • Best show ever made

  • oh how the mighty have fallen

  • @whatsgoingon07 hahahaha , thanks for reminding me of that scene

  • Such a powerful scene

  • His uncle looks like the mascot for Six Flags great america. What a freakin loser.

  • @TheFireWithin2779 fuck off you dick. watch the show or go eat your mother out.

  • @dinuccij

    LOL

  • @TheFireWithin2779 he's an old man, wtf do you want? it's gonna happen to you too unless somebody puts you out of your misery early

  • Very sad scene.

  • I think at this point Tony realized that there was no sense in holding a grudge due to the fact that Junior was out of his mind when he shot him. I do believe that deep down he cares for Junior a great deal. Of course that kind of numbed it a little bit when he shot Tony. I do believe Tony forgave him for it.

  • I had tears in my eyes when I saw Tony had tears in his eyes at 2:47.....

Gandolfini and Chianese were such great actors in this series.

Love and Respect to these two wonderful actors from South Korea.

  • Great scene performed and delivered greatly.

  • I like how he got into so many fights with Junior over the course of the series, but he still genuinely loves him here at the end. As opposed to Christopher, who he seemed so close to but then finally snuffed him out.

  • wow

  • Chianese is simply sublime in this scene.

  • Junior has a hit out on Tony at this moment. His 3rd attempt.

  • Tony needed cash from his uncle?

  • We used to play catch....my bullets.

  • Would love if as Tony was walking away, Junior just troll faced at his back.

  • I cried when i saw Junior's amazement. He really didn't believe He was a vicious mafioso.

  • "this thing of ours"

amazing line, amazing delivery. Highlight of the whole show.

  • no dislikes, keep it that way people

  • Junior has the same look as my grandma, who has Alzheimer. Great great scene

  • This was one of the best scenes in the whole series. Very sad too.

  • "....this thing of ours...."

    "...I was involved with that...?"

incredible delivery by Uncle Junior. One of my favorite moments of the series.

  • @memoryburn7 Thats one of my absolute favorite line in the whole series too!...I rewind it a few times whenever i watch this episode lol. Its just the way he delivers that line, like you said. This is one of the best scenes. Another between these two, is when Tony is at Juniors after Jr wondered off. Tony telling Jr he knows why hes being a prick, because hes sick. Tony asks why when Jr repeats things its always mean, Tony asks Jr "Dont you love me"? Jr just looks away with tears in his eyes.

  • The Sopranos Legendary

  • That's such a great but sad scene how Tony just walks away with out saying a word

  • Such a sad sad scene

  • alzheimer's truly is a horrible, debilitating disease. Junior looks so fragile and weak here, absolutely brilliant portrayal by Dominic Chianese

  • well thats niceee... jnrs face is brillaint 2.35

  • Comment removed

  • I can't tell whether Tony started to get emotional or if he just figured fuck it. "The old man completely lost it."

  • @CertifiedGooner729 I think both. You could see a look come over Tonys face when it hits him that Jr really has lost it and hes feels hes wasting his time, but when he walks away he seems like hes trying to get out of there without breaking down or possible fainting

  • No other TV show or movie captured humanity quite this way.

  • There is a theory that Uncle Junior was still faking his memory loss. Because as you notice there are some moments it's clear to him who Tony is. He responds to Bobbie's name and also when tony talks about his "stash"(money) he nods in understanding. Facial expressions change from serious to lost ones. It's just a theory though.

  • @Trinder3467 ya that tru i agree, i think he can learn that trick from tony mom when she was faking her memory lost

  • @Trinder3467 He could have Alzheimer's. It tends to work funny like that. Memory loss can be highly sporadic.

  • Yeah I am very lonely 2 I wonder sometimes if I will ever get like this after getting cancer and surviving & not being able to find jobs cos the economy took a dump & I have no social life or love life cos I cant find a job & those are girls rules always no matter what, most of my friends are married have kids & divorced & were not friends to begin with, Im catching up with time. Been sick for 6 years almost at age 19 I was, Im now 29 just got into college after being depressed for so long.

  • @MrDNK1981 if it makes you feel better and it wont, most people in this economy are in the same boat. in fact, never has there been a time quite frankly where you could tell a girl you were unemployed and it wont phase her, cause chances are she is also in danger of losing her job like lots of people she probably knows allready. so its nothing to be shamed of.also, there are no cinematic deaths. we all go out in a sad depressing way. anyways,we are all struggling.have fun as best you can.

  • Whaddaya gonna do?

  • this is really sad

  • @htownmiguel No , the scene is so close to what I see everyday living with an alzheimers family member. They nailed this scene. Also despite all the Sherlock Holmes who think Tony was killed at the end of the series, I believe after Phil Leotardo was killed that Tony was out of danger. That is except for the FBI.

  • In the end, after everything that junior did to him, Tony still felt pity for his uncle. A really moving scene.

  • My grandpa has alzheimers and he doesn't appear as depressed like Junior.. However i really feel bad for Junior

  • this scene make me in shock!!

  • @unluckymonkeyboy pretty symbolic. Its the only thing they really have.

  • thats nice

  • How could anyone feel bad for Junior? He was the male Livia Soprano. He bitched and moaned constantly, it's like he told Tony, he was the kind of guy who held a Virginia ham under and his arm and cried because he didn't have any bread. Not to mention he tried to kill Tony twice, themotherless fuck. Not that Tony was any better, if karma is real then T definitely deserved what he got in the finale.

  • 0 dislikes for a reason

  • This scene, along with Bobby getting killed, always get to me for some reason

  • i'd like to see the unedited parts ,I think there was much more said between them , which is why tony walks away with the look on his face .

  • TO JUNIOR!

  • Hands down the greatest soprano scene.

  • Poor uncle jun. I miss sopranos so much.

  • This scene makes me extremely sad. I loved uncle june. Really fuckin sad.........

  • this scene is so sad. corrado is one of the most tragic figures in the series and it is sad to see a man of power fall to a shell in a wheelchair, no teeth and no memory.

  • When I watched this scene I had goosebumps. Probably the most intense and dramatic scene of the series, which is the best I ever saw. Tony basically forgives his uncle. Hallo to every paisà in America, from a 100% italian who lives in Italy.

  • How many elderly actors would allow anybody to film them with their teeth out?....NONE.

Dominic is an outstanding actor who is willing to put his pride aside to make an outstanding scene. Awesome.

  • This is an incredible scene. Well played by both.

  • When Tony walked out of there, Junior didn't even turn around to look at him goes, he didn't do nothing. That part really broke my heart.

  • Beautiful scene, very moving

  • This Scene Really Touched A Nerve

  • Heartbreaking

  • powerfull stuff. maybe the greatest film ever made. just happened to be a tv show

  • From 2:20 on Says it ALL Baby!!!

  • anyone think that Tony, If he lived would have starting helping Junior?

  • @Cjrrmr Most likely not, without Silvio's management of the Bada bing, it's highly likely that someone less-experienced would take over, and because of losing Vito, Tony lost a lot of money, he would have had hardly any money left, and I don't think he would've spent it on helping Junior, he still holds it against him regardless, he'd probably view it as disrespectful that Junior doesn't even remember Johnny

  • saddest part of the series. Great acting though.

  • The black nursing home is a reference to born on the fourth of july

  • heartbreaking

  • Very sad scene if u watched the whole series

  • alzheimers

  • one of my favorite scenes

  • this scene makes me a little sad

  • he totally fakes his mental illness

  • @G0odf3lla Nothing fake, as someone who has family members with dementia, this was great acting and uncanny realistic to what I see on a everyday basis.

  • @GOODY61 you may be right, i'm not arguing, but Junior was clever enough and vicious enough to really fake it, in my opinion.

    I guess we'll never know ;)

  • @G0odf3lla I have to disagree. Livia was clever and vicious enough to fake it like that. Junior wasn't nearly as smart as he thought he was and had too much of an ego to take it that far.

  • @GOODY61 If you knew what a snake junior is then you would see the high rate of probability in him faking it.

  • Comment removed

  • @GOODY61 It's a common discussion and a conscious choice by the director to make it ambigious for the viewer if he is faking it or not. Things like that are what makes the genious of the series.

There's really no reason for you to be fuckin childish and rude... unless you lack self confidence.

  • @sucramnormark Just a little sarcasm with your statements about the high rate of probability of Junior faking the dementia. Quite obvious from the last couple of seasons that Junior level of reality and memory were going downhill. If you can't take the heat , don't make the posts.

  • @GOODY61 Wow, you're seriously suggesting that there is a rule of posting that you have to be rude against people you disagree with? Well, that might be the case for 10-year olds, but youre 49 years old ( I assume) and that's just tragic

  • @sucramnormark Not a rule but it's possible. Depends on the individual's current state of mind when he is posting. Pretty common on youtube, my statements are mild compared to the average posting. Again, if your thin-skinned and can't take the heat, then don't make the post.

  • Comment removed

  • @sucramnormark Another point- Tony thought Junior was faking it but he realized at the end he wasn't when he made the statement "You really don't know who I am". This kind of closes the case on your theory now. Nothing ambigious about it. If you also notice Junior was experiencing dementia even with patients at the home and others not affiliated with the mob. I don't know how many strikes you have but I think you are now officially out.

  • @GOODY61 I see you flaming everybody here. Sad how a 49 year old would feel the need to do that.

  • @sucramnormark Let's see, your replying to my reply to another poster. I'm just voicing an opinion when I see comments I disagree with. It appears you are doing the flaming. By the way, I have not looked at your profile to see how old you are because I really don't care.

  • A boutonnière is a floral decoration worn by men im not to sure thats what he said xDDDDDDDD

  • He says "Fuck you want, a boutonnière?" Anyone who disagrees is a fucking idiot. Google it.

  • JUNIOR is BOSS better than fat fuck tony

  • Thats nice.

  • We use to play catch...

  • Junior was without a doubt one, if not my favorite character in this series. Funny and Old School. A real genuine "Class Act".

  • I think he says "Boutonniere"

  • No he says boot in the ear why would he say boutonniere a French word unrelated to the conversation?

  • Why? Because he has lost his mind? That's the point. Also, Boutonniere is commonly used in English language.

  • A butonniere is a flower worn on a buttonhole on the lapel of a tuxedo's jacket.

  • Gandolfini is such a talented actor.

  • A Sopranos movie should be made to explain what happens to the surviving charecters!

  • one final tender moment even after all the hatred and violence ..Classic scene !!!

  • loved the sopranos

  • I felt sorry for Junior, you don't see him for a number of episodes and even then he wasn't as messed up, old or even as dead brained as he is in this one...

  • its crazy if you look at where junior was boss (technically) of the family in the beginning of the series and the slow descent into the dementia that he probably deserved. that one part he says he used to play catch made me almost get choked up.

  • why did he become like this

  • dementia in his old age

  • Were there any blood members of the DiMeo fam that were on the show? and how come the Mob Family name did not change from DiMeo to Soprano?

  • the reason DiMeo does not become soprano is because each Mafia family is named after the last name of the first boss, thats why the Lupertazzi (New York) family in the show doesnt become the Sacramoni (Johnny Sack) or Leotardo family. Its kind of honoring the original leaders I guess.

  • thats johnny ola in the godfather movie!!

  • What's so powerful about this scene is that it reflects the basic message of the Sopranos. Psychiatry works.

Tony got professional help for his problems - Junior didn't. The scene perfectly reflects the end result of those two paths. Tony isn't perfectly healthy, but he's a LOT better off than his uncle.

  • I don't see why this comment was thumbed down? It really is a constant theme in the show - Tony's psychiatry helps him in administering his authority.

One of the main themes of the show is characters deny that they have problems when their mental issues are very real. From Tony to AJ to Janice to even Jackie Aprille (with ADD). Americans like to believe that its all about personal responsibility and "mind over matter." But the mind IS matter and it can be damaged just like any other organ.

  • Because you're gay

  • Thumbs up....very well said

  • Junior isn't like that because he didn't have therapy, he's old. He's got dementia.

  • Psychiatry doesn't really do much for dementia..

  • Both. I think part of Junior's mind vaguely remembers Tony, or what he represents. That's why he says "we used to play catch."

At least part of his brain may be deliberately not answering Tony because its too afraid and ashamed of what happened, and its too difficult to deal with.

But Junior is DEFINITELY mentally sick - no doubt about it.

  • i was VERY disappointed with the last episode... but this scene made up for, truly sad very movin

  • Very Sad indeed. "This thing of ours" Remember Johnny Boy? Junior has some recollection, as he intently looks at Tony explaining to him, and then gets a semi charmed daze,. At that point ook at the sadness in Tony's face when he realizes that the Alzheimer's got the Best of this Uncle Jr the Family Boss . Throughout the series Tony never really trusted him, he still managed to put up with his bullshit, and deceitfulness only to keep the Northern New Jersey Family unified. This was a sad scene.

  • junior is a fuckin good actor

  • "Hmm... well that's nice."

    LOL

  • IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY IN TONY''s EYES AT THE END HE ALMOST CRYS HES BLINKING A FEW TYPES TO STOP TINY TEARS

  • junior played alzheimers just like i know it happens, R.I.P Grandma, btw, greatest show ever..

  • you people think tony would've probably spent the money?

  • Tony rakes in 150-250 grand a month. He doesn't need to spend Uncle Juniors money which I am sure is not a whole lot.

  • Boy, talk about a sad ending to this character. All that power and such a full life. And how does it end? What does he have to show for it? Unable to know your family and friends (presumably) or even your own name (presumably) sitting in a wheelchair in a room with crazy people staring out a window. Very sad to see Junior go out that way. One of the finest TV programs ever created.

  • Junior's like the most tragic character close to Bobby Bacala. I really felt bad for Junior, he never always got what he wanted, not really. He kept getting lonelier and more miserable as the series progressed and that's probably what led to his Alzheimer's, because his problems were too much for his old age to bare. Being lonely like this is worse than death. A very depressing and powerful scene.

  • @Omerta3000

I completely agree about both Uncle June & Bobby. For all his faults, Junior was a nice guy who just had a never ending streak of bad luck.Bobby? Poor guy, from is first scene to his very last he was always such a sweetheart. Was really sad to see him die like that.

  • Comment removed

  • @Omerta3000 He actually started to get memory loss after he fell and hit his head after his court case. Some reporter put a mic too close to his head and he turned around and hit it then fell down the steps. But then again you could be right too.

  • hes lost it......needs to be in a mental institute lockdown

  • when i saw tony's eyes start cryiing i couldnt help myself nither

  • gettin old is a bitch sometimes. I'm not normally moved by tv or movie scenes but I got that lump in the throat during this one. It was a sad end for Junior.

  • i believe since Janice had said in a previous episode that he had run out of money and that probably means that he probably wasn't taking the right mediaction for his memory like he had in "Remember When"

  • I think The most shocking part of this scene was when tony said "you and my father johnny used to run northern new jersey" and uncle junior just says "Thats nice"

  • @Dannyb0y24 Right after you see Tony gets tears in his eyes. Who would of thought that Junior would outlive Tony?

  • I believe Junior really didn't know who Tony was!

  • this scene was tragic, i almost cried when junior said we used to play catch

  • good question i wish there was an answer. this was the best scene in the whole series.but i dont think junior had a clue

  • this one was better

  • actually got choked up when i first watched this

  • what do u think was better this scene or the last scene with tony and paulie?its a hard choice

  • That's like adding a 3rd deminsion to something that's only 2 deminsional in the first place you just gotta remember that's the difference between real life and show so if you think about it logically then no, it's no way he was faking if the director/script writer actually did mean for him to be faking it'd be pretty stupid at this point.

  • ''Thats nice ''

  • I remebered when I watched this how tony made junior boss. Tony just walked out because he couldnt take it. You can really feel both of their emotions. before he left, he looked at him with what looked like a smile. It was like the one smile happiness finally after ten years of drama. I really loved this show. There was never one like it and there probably wont ever be.

  • A show where the writting made it what it was, epic.

  • Tony can be a very ruthless person, but he does have a heart. It was always great when these two worked as a team.

  • I agree that Junior is one of the greatest characters on The Sopranos. Dominic Chianeses acting is brilliant, and Junior as a character is very intresting. He's the guy that never really made it "to the top", even if he wanted it so bad! Great show, great cast. Best series ever.

  • I'm a grown ass man and this part got me all teary eyed man.

  • Good call.

  • Fanook !

  • why?...plus is not even spelled that way...

  • Junior Soprano is untouchable. The greatest character in the greatest show ever.

  • no junior was a great guy who got old and fuked up all the time and hes not the greatest character at all

  • man when are they gonna come back im dieing here

  • Perfect.

  • this seen is really sad, you see junior full force in seasons 1,2,3, etc. and now hes all fuckeed up.

  • one of my favorite scenes from the last season...thanks for posting...

  • I thought, right up to the end, that Uncle Jun was going to have been "faking". This one really made me sad. And it's so sad in real life when one of your relatives gets like that. I liked how grumpy Uncle jun was.

  • This was the best part of the finale. I got so teary eyed.

  • Poor old Uncle June... :(

  • "This thing of ours", I love how Tony said that in that manner. It almost came out like a benediction. And then with Junior's "We did? That's nice." Put a beginning to the end.... so sad.

  • that's so fucking melancholy
