  • i heard this played at a circus :)

  • #4 ON THIS VIDEO IS THE COOLEST ONE OF ALL!

  • I love Terry Gilliam!

  • Why didn't nostalgia critic add any of these to his list of mindfucks?

  • Google "Benny Hill considered funnier than Monty Python" there are now thousands of postings at google by that title.

  • This video is getting quite silly.

  • @JordanAP96 Yes and no one enjoys a good laugh more than i do well maybe my brother....and my niece in fact most people enjoy a good laugh more than i do but thats besides the point now lets watch some cartoons. :)

  • The fourth intro sucks!

  • @Duvmasta Why?

  • Got cardinal Richelieu, got Hitler, got the german iron cross...what other references are there, anyone get them?

  • @riffraff875 British humour is more sophisticated, I suppose..

  • The key in Season 3 is different

  • Mind f*&^k!!!!!!!!

  • I just love that foot!

  • 0:21

    Is that cardinal richelieu?

  • I'd like to see a full length (90 mins) animation by Terry Gilliam or one in CGI!

  • 天才..=)

  • The Series 4 opening was the best i think

  • Does anyone think it's cool that for Series 3 they made the theme slightly lower pitched?

  • Monty Pythons A-Flying Circusssssssssssss!!!!

  • Benny Hill considered funnier than Monty Python by two TV stations (WOR and WLVI)!

  • LOL @ 1:41

  • Series 3 always had my favorite opening animation. Thanks for the upload!

  • Sounds like the Gumby sketch announcing on series 3... And the weirdest one is the first series.

  • you didn't include the early season 1 intro where cleese says 'monty pythons flying circus' without the silly voice.

  • IT'S--!

  • I still like the 1st, but I like the raspberry sound with the foot from 2 and 3.

  • Best shit ever.

  • the third season was the one i most liked, it also

remind me the pipe screen protector from window 98!

  • I know this is Liberty Bell, but , I'm sorry, this will always be the Monty Python theme to me.

    I love it.

    XD

  • @PoopFaceNina, I think it will always be the "Monty Python Theme" to everyone. It's probably one of the most well known themes of all time.

Oh, and I love it too! :-)

  • @PoopFaceNina You speak for most of the world's population.

  • the Monty Pyton's opening, followed by the other pyton's opening, oh, and the other one... and now with something completely different... the Monty Pyton's opening XD

  • Pretty scary.

  • @ 0:22

    Cardinal Richelieu!

  • It creeps me out !

  • Yeah, it was kind of freaky looking when I first saw it on WNET during the '70s, though I don't feel that way now.

  • 2nd and 3rd! XD

  • What was the name of the Python theme song? Was it an old military marching song?

  • John Phillip Sousa's, "Liberty Bell March"

  • lol, this march is ruined for all eternity. everybody will remember monty python when hearing it. imagine a serious parade and every 2nd-3rd person starts to collabs into laughter when they start to play this melody...

  • Ruined? I would say that makes it even better!

  • lol, hell yeah. XD

  • It's sad that when my school band plays this song, nobody knows what it references to except for me. We don't have a raspberry at the end and I usually end up making it, much to everyone's annoyance......

  • I agree with JayWC4 It makes the occasion funnier, they'd never play this sort of thing as a funeral march, or anything too innapropriate, so it just adds to the festivities.

  • @TheEmperorOfMankind

Well if John Philip Sousa really cared about his music he would have stayed alive forever to renew its copyright!

    lulz

  • @TheEmperorOfMankind well that's the sense in it, isn't it?... it's the same as advertisement. who doesn't think at "The Sting" when hearing "The Entertainer" by Joplin... he didn't want it either maybe. or the swastika: it was a ancient symbol for something like "blessing" before hitler made it to what it is now...

maybe nobody would ever remember the march "liberty bells" today, if it wasn't for Monty Python. moreover, i think we have far enough marches to go without this one

  • @TheEmperorOfMankind On the Bright side, they also played it at Bill Clinton's , George Bush's, and Barack Obama's Presidential Inagurations.

  • @TheEmperorOfMankind they apparently played this song during Dubya's and Obama's inaugurations. Mr. and Mrs. Obama must've been laughing up their sleeves, while Dubya was probably too oblivious to know about the Monty Python connection.

  • Can anyone tell me who says the words "Monty Python's Flying Circus" in each clip? The voice in the third clip sounds like Arthur Mullard but I know he was never a Python.

  • The first two are John Cleese - I suspect the 3rd is as well

  • I'd wager that the third is either Terry Jones or Michael Palin--Palin, now that I think about it--doing their "Gumby" voice.

  • I'd say Michael Palin.

  • Yeah that's Michael Palin.

  • @eddiewillers1 The Third is Michael Palin, and yes, in their Gumby Voice.

  • It's.....

  • Lol @ 0:21

    It's Cardinal Richelieu.

  • What is everyone's favorite Gilliam animation ?

  • Google the name "Frank Worthen"!

  • season 2 is my personal favorite...john cleese kinda sounds like his french taunter character...Monteeee pyTHOn's flyying cirCUSSSSS

  • agree ! John Cleese's was the best

  • Anyone know who the woman at around 2:12 is?

  • best show ever

  • 1 of mi favorite shows!!! LOVE IT:)

  • I love this show! :D

  • Music end -Raspberry-

  • I have the entire collection. So good.

  • The guy with the teeth in No.3 is my fav.

  • the 1st is the best

  • I love the foot XD

  • monty python's flying circus must have the funniest openings then any other tv show!

  • agreed ;D

  • This show has some of the best intros ever!! "IT'S"

  • only the best >3

  • I havn't seen the one for series 3 before!

  • 1:30 the German Iron Cross on the Ground

  • @maandac2 The Maltese Cross.

  • Monty Python still the best, they have the most genious cartoons ever, i ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!

  • By the fourth series, I think they considered it an old tune, or a stuck record, what with the coin rolling into the slot, and...oh never mind. (Squish!)

  • And now for something completely different.

    It's.....

    Monty Python's Flying Circus!

    (Music Plays)

    (Music ends with fart)

  • Fact everyone:In series 3 the line "and now for something completely different" was shortened to "And now..."

  • Perhaps the opening credits for the special second season episode can be showed where the opening credits repeat like a broken tv.......

  • completely changed the way we see comedy and i know that comedy shows got sum of their comedic ideas from lolz

  • I wonder if people with foot fetishes get turned on at the end of the python credits ?

  • That's a thought.

  • i always love the ending of the intro with the foot

  • At 1:37, BEST JOKE ON BRITISH TEETH.....EVER!!

  • What was the joke?

  • In the Series 3 opening, the guy who is pulled up who has really long teeth explodes.

  • @MoeAnnaProductions its not a joke on british teeth...and plus british teeth are not bad

  • @MoeAnnaProductions This is a late reply but..it isn't a joke on British teeth. Just a random animation.

  • does anyone remember the title of the overture they used for this, ive completely forgotten

  • "The Liberty Bell March"???

  • Duh :p . No one will ever forget this tune... maybe in 200 years ^^

  • Benny Hill was advertised as even funnier than Monty Python by a UHF station (WLVI Channel 56 in Cambridge, MASS) than ran both!

  • You see, Monty Python is the SNL for the United Kingdome. And SNL is The Monty Python for America!

  • i definatly prefer the series 3 one - gumby saying 'monty python's flying circus' and the man who gets stretched and gets big teeth, that always makes me laugh :)

  • Thanks for uploading.

    Good job.

  • Not to mention it was in the public domain as they didn't have any budget left for theme music...

  • I love the song. On a trip to the US I found out it is actually an American song called the Liberty Bell March.

  • Wow... an American title song for the most British of British comedies! Who would've guessed?

  • As I said elsewhere these animations used to frighten me to death when I was a kid. But a friend recently reminded me that I was very partial to humming the tune as a kid."A Puff an editor puff-puff-puff pa puff pa puff pa pa,a Puff an editor puff-puff-puff pa puff pa puff pa,a puff editor-puff editor-puff pa-puff pa-puff pa-puff"

  • Season 2 opener was my most favorite. Gotta love the man...bird...thing that tows the Monty Python's Flying Circus sign before getting squashed by the foot everyone knows of.

  • great job! but what's the name of the font

    at 2:21?

  • I do not think that's a font. I think that the title card "THE END" that was used at the end of some episodes was used. That would've been easy.

  • oh yeah! that font, as i remember, was used

for the end credits. i could be wrong, but it also looks like the one in Emerson Lake & Palmer's debut album...

one more thing: the guy who says 'MPFC' in the intro is the same from all seasons?

  • giant foot FTW!!!

  • this is bloody fantastic

  • LMAO! *hums along to the tune*

  • great

  • *Hums along*

  • hums along to

  • hums along like everyone

  • before there was Saturday Night Live, there was Monty Python's Flying Circus.

  • The difference is that SNL sucks compared to Python.

  • LOL! MPFC rules 4 eva!

    and Terry Gilliams cartoons rock!

  • Best Show ever made!
