  • He's definitely talking about Noel Fielding at 2:00.

  • Hahaaha epic :D

  • Bless - he's so happy to be given a go at the comedy.

  • Comedy is great but it doesn't half attract some horrible people as the comments on this video show. If you don't like a comedian why say nasty shit about them?... go and wank over Ricky Gervais.

  • fuck off he was actually quite funny (but not as good as ricky) if you don't like him don't watch it and shut the hell up.

  • its awkward watchin this :/ i dnt find him funny at all.

  • @JonathanBones fucking hell mate, calm down. i don't see how little robin ince can inspire such a monumental amount of hatred.

  • @bennyboyjones Don't you? Didn't you watch it then?

  • Tough crowd.

  • guys got small thumbs

  • See Robin any time you get the chance - He is totally unpredictable but always funny

  • @tomsega- a far superior stand-up but not funny??? isn't that the point of stand up? . In stand-up, funnier is better..... That's kind of what stand-ups are aiming for... I don't think they are aiming for 'professional'.

  • hes not a funny person your either funny or your not thats why gervais has give him no parts in anything he does

  • He's funny live when he's with Unchanged Monkey

  • @DrLeonardBonesMcCoy Infinite Monkey Cage?

  • His delivery could use a bit of work, but the material is A+.

  • His Morrissey impression is brilliant.

  • why weren't they cracking up as hard as i was at the morrisey part?

you'd think gervais' audience would dig that more.

  • he's so lovely. i may pretend to be Morrissey for the rest of the day

  • @IIB20VTEC no he dont

  • tell poppa truth

  • I always get the urge to burst into the toilet whenever Robin Ince is inside.

  • This was such a fanstastic gig! So much better then Ricky Gervais was.

  • AHHHHH ROBINN!!!

  • Robin is very underestimated I think. He has some really fantastic gags.

  • His material is every bit as good as Ricky Gervais'

But he should pack it in and tell Ricky.... : I will make YOU look good. PAY ME!!!

  • yeah ill second that. good material, but he looks a little nervous. the ecstasy in the field gag is great but he tries to validate it by shaking his head... i guess it's down to taste. so it's pointless to argue for or against him.

  • @colinfirth07 it kind of depends what you mean by funny. listen to the podcasts he did for paramount comedy with josie long and guests, they are very funny and show he at the very least an incredible natural wit.

  • His matierial is good but his delivery is awful. He should write for other comedians.

  • Like Ben Elton.

  • @ElectricSexPants i find his delivery brilliant (although i will admit its better live than on this) its just not tailored to mass audience.

its a kind of driven to the edge of madness, paranoid bitter angry defeated romantic (best shown on his dvd when he repeatedly rants about teenages fucking against his bins etc) persona that i love.

i also think some of this (travelodge in the rain) are subtle, hilarious, delivered well but just fall flat on the audience

  • I agree - I think his delivery is awesome.

  • its just that idiots dont get it.

  • No, it's just that people don't find it funny.

It doesn't make you smarter or unique for liking it. Don't be a cunt, mate.

  • His Morrissey impression is really good!

  • i agree

  • surprised by the negative comments given how he compares to the other comedians being successful at the moment;katy brand, michael mcintyre, david doherty, the awful sarah millican, zoe lyons, russel howard and all the rest.

he's a smart comedian. he isn't a naturally funny character though i'll give you that.

  • I agree, except david o'doherty and Sarah Millican are good stand-ups, it's just that you have probably only seen some of their TV work (which is rushed). They're at their bests on the comedy circuit, hence why they both won the if.comedies last year. I agree that Katy Brand, Michael McIntyre, Zoe Lyons and Russel Howard are shit though!

  • sarah milliacan, is, in my opinion the worst of the bunch. i saw a fair bit of the act she won the if award for and it was dreadful. awful set-up lines that didn't work just for the purpose of a punchline, lame observations, lazy cliches. I was stunned and frankly angered that she won.

mcintyre actually had some good jokes a few years ago, he has just spread himself too thin. can't blame him, we've all got mortgages to pay. o'doherty didn't deserve the most prestigious award in comedy imo.

  • I was surprised too, I personally like him and i can understand if you don't but then just don't watch, he's hardly being forced down people's throats.

  • lol

  • he wasnt too bad i laughed a few times... he did a good job really :)

  • As a concise professional he's actually a far superior stand-up to Gervais, he's just not naturally funny.

  • true say

  • @tomsega Nope. Stand up is based on who can get more laughs, thats it. Ricky wins.

  • @tomsega i disagree, i think they're both 'naturally' funny.

i just think his is a more cerebral type of comedy, + ricky's is more instinctual/visceral.

one isn't better than the other, they are just two equally valid but different flavours.

  • @taffysaur Still, Ince seems like someone who probably went to university, did a bit of public speaking, studied a lot of stand up, decided it was something he wanted as a job, started playing small clubs, thought and planned and became a professional over time.... Ricky just seems to have fallen into the role because he's a fucking hilarious bloke!

  • "YOU'RE THE KING OF NOTICING STUFF!!"

  • His thumbs aren't that small...

  • OMG. his morrissey accent

  • haha i really like the bit where he goes "look at you in your heshen amarac you deserve to diie!"..just me :)

  • i raelly liek what he says, im just not mad over the way he delivers it

im still gonna see him if he comes to york

  • I love that his munchies were "shortbread and cheeses from around the world in a presentation dish" lol! I love him!

  • Aah it's Robin! Isn't he lovely?

  • haha

  • no. theyre best mates

  • lollollol

  • He should slow it down...where's the fire?

  • He lost that audience

  • LOL, his Moz impression is quite good, this coming from a moz obsessive who won't have a word said against him. LOL

  • Glad mine was the 6th thumb's down.

With this thumb's down you also get a free "you're a twat". You twat.

  • Lol. What a great response to perfectly mild criticism of Ince. Calm down, sir.

  • Haha not too much offense intended.

  • The Morrissey impression is great!

  • You finally managed to check this out, then?!

  • Yes! I've seen this before but shockingly I don't remember watching the Moz bit.

    Robin loves Hull.

  • "MY TROUSERS ARE MADE OF POPCORN!"

    Best line ever! XD

  • lol! I read that comment before I got to it in the video. So funny in context!!

  • i saw Robin live in Epsom and he is fantastic. The funniest comedian i have ever seen, and i've seen the Chuckle Brothers!

  • I'm in love

  • He's really really good, why weren't the audience laughing more!

  • Robin Ince was brilliant. But why do you think the audience weren't laughing more? They were there to see Ricky Gervais!

  • They were probably laughing quite a bit but the place was only 2/3 full, the rest were still the in the bar.

  • HAHA! =D Great
