  • Andy's pants...

  • Comment removed

  • WHERE IS THE BASS COMING FROM IF HE'S NOT PLAYING?

  • @ryan85oh Play-back man

  • @ryan85oh - This is obviously a lip-synch, however I wonder where the recording comes from, since it is not the studio recording from Ghosts in the Machine.

  • @ryan85oh a backing track

  • the real music, justin bieber has to takes example. Return study before being able to pass in radio.

  • this is in the key of Dm instead of the original album version which is in Am. It was played live in Dm during the tours that followed

  • Then Kenny came out gay and had HIV. Funny the way things work out. Ha

  • See what you can do with a flyin V bass!!

  • Funny at 0:48 hahahahahaha still laughing right now

  • Hahaha!!! That's sooo great! KeatonsAnnex, thanks for posting!

  • YES!!!!!!!!

  • I can't stop watching this, Sting was so hot.

    The song is brilliant too.

  • GREAT VIDEO! British humour at its best!

  • funny stuff-that Intro....

  • This is a cool version of this song. It kind of sounds like an earlier version than what' on Ghost in the Machine, however, I still much prefer the original.

  • Dear Kenny...I really miss him.

  • One of my favorite songs from the band....Very funny intro...MORE fantastic ´80´s music on my channel!!!!

  • the can of worms moved closer to him, pressed hard against him, grew a tentacle and held him tight, broadcasting unheard comfort

  • @czech698 ...???????????????????????????????

  • If You Want More 80's Music, Check Out My Channel.

  • love this version

  • culd someone make me understood yhe meaninig of the last 12sec?

  • Music was great in the early 80s

  • Who's that ? ... the Police ... hummmm i'm not surprised ... Were they arrested ?

I looped this part a doozen times ! So hilarious comment !!!

  • great song great performance sting is a good actor!

  • Andy's guitar in this video is so awesome, how come he doesn't use it during performing live? By the way, what's the name of the bass guitar?

  • I think that's a Hamer Blitz 8-string fretless bass.

  • Yeah, it is. Both Sting and Andy were actually sponsored by Hamer around the Zenyatta/ Ghost-period, but on tapes and pictures I have, it doesn't seem they were used much by them, except for promo-pictures and such. You can see Sting playing around with this bass on "The Police around the world"-video (Soundcheck: "Canary in a coalmine"-rif). It has a distinct "octaved" sound. Sting also had a four-stringed Hamer.

  • @thepolice281 Im guessing because he was pretty content with using the Tele and also a few strats and maybe one or two oddball guitars. He may've used it live in that era ; theres not a lot of documented concerts from that era to show

  • @thepolice281 thats a Chiquita "travel guitar"....fully functional...just a pint size electric guitar whose claim to fame was that you could check it onto an airplane and it would fit in overhead...those came about i believe about '79 or '80

  • nice keyboard reverb

  • Name of that bass?!

  • This is an alternate take or a specially recorded studio version to lipsynch with this performance. Very interesting!

  • *rofl* kenny and the whole intro are hilarious!

  • i love this song so much, i wish songs today were written eloquently.

  • This was prerecorded live then they lip sync to it. i guess to ensure it would be real good... and to the guy asking about andy's guitar, it looks like an Erlewine "Chiquita" guitar, originally built for Billy gibbons of ZZ top for travel purpuses.. so you know it oozes tone if he uses one.

They are still available for about $600 bucks, not bad for a quality instrument....

  • I'ts funny! YOOOOOOO! EDY 0001 POLICE FROM BRAZIL

  • I hear bass but Sting isn't playing his, just holding it most the time. Hmmmm. Sid Vicious must be backstage ghost playing for him

  • It's not plugged in, either. And there are no mics anywhere on stage...

  • A lot of "live" perfomances in the 80's were lip synced to recordings. Cheesy maybe yes, but that's how they did it.

  • love to see this.

  • I just love to see Copeland drumming

  • I love that song.

  • I love this song so much...

  • What the hell is Andy playing? haha it looks like a tenor ukelele

  • excellent

  • Prerecorded live version of Spirits...nice find!

  • Man the intro is so funny xD

  • LOL!! That was too funny that part where he and Sting were rollin around! LOL

  • Sting=Smexi bass *KING!

  • Sting=Smexi bass kind!

  • wtf is up with that man?

    Dude Sting is straight!

  • It's English humor my dear. LOL

  • that was hillarious!!!

  • awesome footage, always happy to see new old stuff popping up on youtube.

  • OMG Sting is not gay. Are you trying to disappoint the millions of female admirers.

His wife would be surprised too. She'd be wondering how he came out with 6 children.

  • who the h*** dressed Andy?

  • I don't know micra but those shoes are hysterical.

  • I think he looks cute, love his outfit.

  • I wonder if Sting knew he was gay then?
