  • Hhmm, I'm not sure but the guy standing beside the bridge looks to be Rob Tapert the producer. I never noticed that before.

  • I saw the second film first have yet to see the other 2 :-)

  • i watch 3 then 2 and then 1 lol

  • I loved drag me to hell! was the first horor movie in a looooooooong time that was original and any good!

  • But I also thought that Drag me to hell was scarey

  • I am sorry but I disagree, because evil dead 1 was a really good horror film and I loved it, but evil dead 2 is like a comedy horror remakeo of the first film, and the 3rd one where Ash went back in time I loved it

  • I wish I had seen this before I knew what your next movie was, I could recognise Ricardo Montalbans mouth from a hundred paces. I can even pick that scene! "Buried alive! *buried alive*". RIP :(

  • Oh yeah! I forgot. The world is a little less wierd and awesome with Montalban gone.

  • I think its Ricardo Montalbans mouth too!

cool look back on Evil Dead. I never noticed that guy standing by the bridge , what a amateur error. I love the evil deads. Just a little bit on his new stuff " Drag me to Hell" I thought was good, it was funny, and he goofed , i didnt see what was so bad about that, it was very AOD, mixed with Boogyman ( ghost house pix)

SM3 however the emo look jazz club scene slaughtered that movie. and Franco as random flying surfer bad guy was a big wtf.

  • Correct. The mouth of a champion.

I just think 'Drag Me To Hell' was presented as this big, scary movie, but it was just silly fun. It seemed like Raimi was trying to scare me with lots of camera angle shifts and long scenes of walking around in the dark, and then he threw in his over the top mouth spewing. It was just really obvious to me that Raimi doesn't actually like scary horror films.

  • He doesn't take the genre serious, so you could be on to something. However Raimi has a style that he sticks too, that goof ball 3 stooges part of him can't seem to break away from. Maybe he's just making parodys to the genre because he feels horror has taken a wrong turn and disagrees with other horror directors.

  • I LOVE this Movie!!! Easily in my top three. This 8 1/2, and American Beauty are so inspirational to me. Whenever I need inspiration I can watch Evil Dead and be inspired. It stimulates my mind somehow. It's amazing how much they were able to fit into this one movie. And make it work! =D

  • Awesome. Glad to hear the shared Evil Dead love. American Beauty and 8 1/2 aren't on my list, but I also dig those films. I got a 100% for my essay on American Beauty at uni a while back. Love it.

  • The Evil Dead trilogy is Amazing. Just like you, I saw Army of Darkness first. After seeing that I had to see the rest of the Evil Dead movies. I would say that each movie is almost three separate genres. Evil Dead 1 is a horror. Evil Dead 2 is a horror comedy. Army of Darkness is a fantasy comedy.

I thought that Drag me to Hell was OK. It was nothing special but it was not bad. You can defiantly tell it was a Sam Rami movie.

There is no way I can guess next weeks movie.

  • I bet you can. That's a pretty distinct mouth.

    Nice genre distinctions too :)

  • Distinct mouth OK , Hmmm. OK I have a few guesses. Either Silvester Stallone in Rocky because he has that paralyzed part of his face. Or perhaps Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry because he always has that grinding his teeth look. My last guess is the guy from Mask. Not the one with Jim Carey but the one with Cher. That guy was so deformed he scared me as a kid.

  • All fantastic guesses... but no.

  • Damn ! OK one more guess. That weird looking guy from Goonies. If I got it wrong again your going to have give me another clue. It's really driving me crazy. I know once you tell me I'm going to be like "Duh, I knew that all along."

  • Nope. Clue: It's a science fiction film.

  • OK, this is my last guess. If I am wrong I'll just wait for you next video. But, I think I am right. I'll give my answer in just one word. "KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHN !!!!"

Although, I never thought of him having a distinctive mouth.

  • CORRECT! Get this man a no-prize, stat!

  • Hooray ! I finally got it right !

  • great video

  • Cheers

  • wasn't a huge fan of the first 'Evil Dead'. Had a lot more fun with 'Evil Dead II' and 'Army of Darkness'. I also think his intent was to make the second and third films humorous. Their brilliance was in being the first of their kind. They're some of the very few movies I can watch over and over. Catch you on the flip side my brother from down under.

  • Yeah I definitely agree that comedy was Raimi's intent with 2 and 3. I found 'Drag Me To Hell' kind of annoying because it presented itself as big and scary, but it was really just more jokey horror.
