Absolutley beautiful commercial, love the final stage part :)! I drive an 09' Cadillac CTS and im in love with it! Cadillac is without a doubt the most classy/luxurious brand out there!
@usa1america You do realize that Cadillac is a largely black=operated company, right? You stupid, ignorant, ugly, white piece of crap!!! I hate white people!!!!!!!!!!
@CoreyForeside What the fuck are you talking about? Cadillac was founded by two white men and even now the GM board is almost all white. Not saying that black people can't do it but wtf?
@captwasabi I'm talking about Cadillac, not GM as a whole and there are a large amount of black people working for Cadillac in comparison to other car companies.
The SRX has problems, my Nav screen malfunctions and goes up and down on it's own, the rims are fake and the $1,000 extra I paid for the platinum ice white looks crappy. Don't buy a GM.
Sorry dude, you got screwed. Mine is OUTSTANDING! I've been wondering where it's been all my life. If you are having such problems with the Nav screen, take it back. That's what the warranty is for. And if you paid extra for something that looks crappy, didn't you see it before you bought it?
@brucetownsend: You are full of it! That screen has no glitches whatsoever. You posted to keep everyone from buying. Thats sad. If you dont like the car, just state that. You dont have to make up negative stuff about it. Geez! Its 2010. Who do you think is actually going to believe you? Where are your pics of your SRX, btw? :D Inquiring minds would like to know...
BS. You dont own an srx, my family just bought a fully loaded one and its the most incredibe car we have ever had. You wish you had the money for one.
Would You like to sell or buy this car? Rapair? Make a fan club? Or want to know more about it? Register and discuss about this car in _V6wall com_ ;)
@JesdaG: I dont know why you got de-boosted because a true car fan knows that you are right. The first generation SRX was based on the CTS platform. It was a rear driver with AWD optional. It also had the infamous Northstar V8 as an option. I guess it was too "wagon-like" for it to become popular like it should have been. This new one is okay but it is FWD based. :( Im with you though because you know what you are talking about! :D
@ Mrvegasirrocks: A better stereo? Whats wrong with the one in there? Its a 10-speaker Bose 5.1 Cabin Surround Sound System with a 10 GB music storage hard drive! Not to mention the navigation system, ipod and usb hookup, and bluetooth capability it features. That one is optional, the standard radio features 8 speakers but is still a Bose setup though.
Clever, but everyone fails to comment that Cadillac is ripping off Lincoln's advertising campaign; i.e., space / mission control / lift-off. Time for some original thinking, not copy-cat, me-too-ism.
All car bias aside, this is a very cool commercial. I think that Cadillac did a great job. I love how the camera angles and voices over the radio looked and sounded like a launch from Mission Control.
You've obviously haven't heard that the CTS-V has dethroned Europe's precious BMW. I am not lying look it up on Youtube. I love the fact that Cadillac has become the punch to the face that silenced all those people that claimed America could not build a good car. @xGore220 What ever country you are from, you STILL haven't been to the moon, so kiss my ass, our technology is still ahead of yours and you've had 40 years to catch up.
So cool. I am hoping that people will try to figure out why these explosions are occuring. "break the sound-barrier," the famous shock-wave front first defined by the mathematical physicist Bernhard Riemann back during the middle of the 19th Century. To do that incorporates the fact that Cadillac understands that new rules and ways of thinking to accomodate change.
Very cool video but, none of those cars looked like CADILLACS! I know Cadillac wanted to tighten things up after decades of soft cars but, they've gone way too far in the wrong direction.
These "Cadillacs" look like every other visually dissonant box, cube, SUV, "crossover", Tonka Toy, or other such themed cars in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
How about backing WAY UP and returning to your body-on-frame roots? Conjure up Harlow Curtis and let him show you how automobile styling is done
nice video, GM is not a bad just about every car factory have made bad lookin car in a time or 2 & also they needed a little help but its just like us somtime you need a little help & ford car just started to look good. Ford car look good but under hood the motors look cheap but at the end of the day it doesn't matter when you need a car a car is a car GM or Ford
My mother said the first time she saw the CTS that is was the car she wanted. After buying her '09 CTS, she then said that Cadillac out did themselves with this car and if they stayed on track that GM & Cadillac would come out even stronger. This video proves all was true. Having family that work/worked for GM, I am very proud and truly America needs to take note: "We have Re-Ignition!"
I have to say Cadillac has finally made it. This commercial is by far the best car commercial in the world. Its so captivating and there is no way to keep your eyes off the TV without the curiosity of knowing what its about. I thought Infiniti had the best car adds from any luxury brand but now Cadillac has stepped up their game. The Cadillac Srx commercial is really cool too, everyone wants to know the music in these adds.
I love this commercial! I'm a college student and a cadillac is a little out of reach. But I'm pumped to get one after I get a job and can pay cash for it!! Keep up the good work GM!!
I agree it kinda looks like the Lincoln MKS commercial with the guy looking like hes going into out of space, but the commercial is pretty nice either way.
And the reason for the SRX to delpoy second stage is by model year people. It's a bit obvious, CTS was the first reinvention of the cadillac image today, followed by the Wagon just being launched, then the SRX and upcoming CTS Coupe.
Because after all the hardware that has to get added on to meet American emission regulations it wouldn't get 45 mpg anymore. That extra hardware also adds cost. The Diesels sold in America are expensive and don't get very good mileage. In addition Diesel fuel is more expensive than gasoline in America.
Lots of Americans claim they want more Diesels, and yet the diesels that are available to s sell very very poorly.
This is the first car commercial I've seen that really made me want to "buy American". All the other car commercials seem like they're begging for your money, whereas this one is proud and confident. The concept for the ad is great. It's so powerful because it reminds us of what America is capable of. The comparison to the space program reminds us that America makes some of the most advanced things in the world and that our cars don't have to be crappy tin cans. Brought a big smile to my face.
I agree, it looks great, the data sheet is great and the commercial too. But we'll have to wait till it comes to the dealers to give a final judgement, especially looking at the quality. I know the journalists who were allowed to take a look at it and take a seat were enthuastic about the quality, but the question is if they will pick up the quality from the concept and bring it to the production car . I hope they will ...
I saw this video on sunday! i was like that is the coolest cadillac commercial ever. i really like the V-power commercial when they shoot outta the tunnel like a bullet! im lovin' it!
There is not a doubt in my mind...the Cadillac CTS Coupe will definitely be my next car. Of course, mine will have to be a CTS-V Coupe. Cadillac, please confirm the V. Please.
I'm waiting for the CTS-V Coupe too. I hope they get the colors right. I hear CTS stands for Cadillac Touring Sedan, so I think the Coupe should be the CTC.
Whatever it's going to be called, I want it. I'm very proud of GM, and this commercial made me feel even better. Ahhhhhhh
That is incorrect, they kept the names of DeVille and SeVille around by doing DTS and STS... same with Catera.
look at the first gen STS it was called a Seville STS or SLS standing for Seville Touring Sedan or Seville Luxury Sedan. Same with Eldorado when it its final years was called ETC. Eldorado Touring Coupe.
No one seems to complain about all the major banks actually stealing money by manipulating stock options and absird bonuses. If GM were allowed to break free of legally binding union contracts and the absurd CAFE standards then they would not have needed bailing out. In any event the Feds own stock which they will sell at some point to repay the tab.

Ugh. Another "driving in the desert" car spot? Please.
The only good thing is that they aren't overtly saying "Cadillac is for women" as they are with every other ad. Decent cars but no man will ever buy a "chick car" and that's how they're positioned.
Boooooo! They could of done better...not inspiring at all. The ad grabs your attention in the beginning, but then the repetition makes it lose its hype. The cars are ok, yes just ok. The competition is stiff with new Audi's, Benz E-Series, Lexus Hyprids, Lincolns...I also agree that their Cross Over does not look like a Caddy...it looks more like a Chevy/Buick...CTS Coupe was cool, but you can barely see it with all the dust and distance in the shot.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The car keeps on getting worse after each explosion. The little CUV is a joke, look like something out of Honda and the last one look like a snake's egg or something.
Cadillac was never a "performance" brand, They were soft sprung old people cars with luxury they wanted (big wide seats and complete seclusion from the outside world) It's only now that they're trying to change that image.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Really a sad attempt at a new commerical, that is derivative of their STS-V Super Bowl commercial a few years back.
It just goes to show how far the LUXURY standard of America has fallen under the geriatric control of Bob Lutz, who should, for all intents and purposes, be dead already.
Cadillac is forever irrelevant in the luxury car market. And that is truly sad.
@bryesq You know what is truly sad? How exceedingly ignorant you are. You are a complete idiot and obviously know nothing about automobiles. I'm glad you don't like Cadillac and hope you never buy one - you're too stupid to be a Cadillac customer.
Cadillac has always been a performance and luxury brand. If you really believe there is nothing luxurious about these cars the you've 1. never driven any of them or 2. have a skewed view of what a luxury car is.
hahahaha oh my gosh u crack me up. Nothing luxurious about Cadillac? R u kidding me? Cadillac is a total luxury brand and for your information the Cadillac CTS won many awards and is a legit player in it's segment. And i think that Cadillac is trying to be both Luxury as well as performance just like BMW. so i a gree with Kevindanza, u r extremely ignorant.
Excellent advertisement. Beautiful cars. The only thing I think, is that they should be associating their brand with the rest of the world, as opposed to JUST america. Just my opinion.
Neat visuals, cool messaging. A nice attempt to connect the dots of their new lineup, and build a little anticipation of the new CTS coupe.
However, it lacks the sense of edginess that their Kate Walsh ads always have, or the sense of art and refinement Infiniti and Lexus are able to convey in theirs. Thematically, it is a bit of a cliche to equate a car with a rocket launch, isn't it? So in the end, there is a certain sense of being dated - a dangerous association that Cadillac wants to avoid.
This add is meant to associate Cadillac with America. Nothing does that better than this. Powerful successful rockets are as American as Apple Pie. So is Cadillac.
This commercial is great. What a great reference to compare your line-up to space age, technology like the space shuttle. It captures the imagination. Well done Cadillac. Would love to have any/all of those cars in my garage.
LOL, true! I do see your point. (Not sure Cadillac wanted that connection haha) The point I was trying to make is that it captures the imagination. The shuttle may be old, and yes, about to be retired, but I think most would agree there is an intrinsic portion that still wows people today. And GM is showing us that we can say, wow, about one of their products. I dunno, just my opinion...

Wow very cool advertisement- would make a great Super Bowl ad if a spot for one didn't cost more than an aircraft carrier the size of Rhode Island.

That was awesome and badass, but the ridiculous piano music at the end is totally out of place.

Ugh. Another "driving in the desert" car spot? Please.
The only good thing is that they aren't overtly saying "Cadillac is for women" as they are with every other ad. Decent cars but no man will ever buy a "chick car" and that's how they're positioned.
potatotruck 2 years ago
i love it. think its a great ad. reminiscent of the old caddy C series bang bullet/tunnel ads
gerbonium 2 years ago

The car keeps on getting worse after each explosion. The little CUV is a joke, look like something out of Honda and the last one look like a snake's egg or something.
Try harder . . .

Cadillac was never a "performance" brand, They were soft sprung old people cars with luxury they wanted (big wide seats and complete seclusion from the outside world) It's only now that they're trying to change that image.

I would have said the Converj is the final stage. That CTS Coupe is gorgeous though, I will be buying one.

And that is truly sad.
bryesq 2 years ago
@bryesq You know what is truly sad? How exceedingly ignorant you are. You are a complete idiot and obviously know nothing about automobiles. I'm glad you don't like Cadillac and hope you never buy one - you're too stupid to be a Cadillac customer.
kevindanza 2 years ago 2
What is Cadillac? A performance car brand? Or a LUXURY car brand.
There is absolutely nothing "luxurious" about the cars in this commercial. And that's the problem with GM's vision (or lack thereof) for Cadillac.
GM simply doesn't know what Cadillac needs to be. And nor do you.
bryesq 2 years ago
Cadillac has always been a performance and luxury brand. If you really believe there is nothing luxurious about these cars the you've 1. never driven any of them or 2. have a skewed view of what a luxury car is.
kevindanza 2 years ago
hahahaha oh my gosh u crack me up.

@ bryesq- I second that. Do us a favor and keep driving your Hyundai Excel Dbag!

Excellent advertisement. Beautiful cars. The only thing I think, is that they should be associating their brand with the rest of the world, as opposed to JUST america. Just my opinion.
roberth214 2 years ago
Nice ad. The 1st stage is really the 2nd stage though and so on.

I love the new CTS. That coupe will be quite a head turner.
3steban427 2 years ago 3
Neat visuals, cool messaging. A nice attempt to connect the dots of their new lineup, and build a little anticipation of the new CTS coupe.
However, it lacks the sense of edginess that their Kate Walsh ads always have, or the sense of art and refinement Infiniti and Lexus are able to convey in theirs. Thematically, it is a bit of a cliche to equate a car with a rocket launch, isn't it? So in the end, there is a certain sense of being dated - a dangerous association that Cadillac wants to avoid.
bombonyou 2 years ago
This add is meant to associate Cadillac with America. Nothing does that better than this. Powerful successful rockets are as American as Apple Pie. So is Cadillac.

Lincoln had a rocket-ship like commercial just a few months ago. Cadillac copied them; I think this one's more memorable though. Great commercial.

This commercial is great. What a great reference to compare your line-up to space age, technology like the space shuttle. It captures the imagination. Well done Cadillac. Would love to have any/all of those cars in my garage.

Except that "space age technology like the space shuttle" is 30 years old, too expensive, has reliability issues and is about to be retired.
MaxHedrm 2 years ago
what the hell are you saying... this has no relevance to the video.
HakemEX 2 years ago
