I get the fact that you don't believe because they have no proof. But burden of proof is not on only them. If there is no proof for existence OR absence, science has no opinion on the matter. Thats why scientific research truly has three answers:
1.Yes, it is true/factual/existant/etc.
2. No, it is not true/factual/existant/etc.
3. We don't know, there is either not enough data or a lack of any relating data to find the answer.
So don't be so irrational about it, use some logic next time.
Evidence and Proof are basically the same thing. Evidence doesn't have to have truth. Proof has to have truth. There is plenty of Evidence, just no proof. If you thought about it though, all philosophy is, is the ideas of one or more man put to paper, that has no particular truth behind it. I get where your going with this but no matter what you do, your not going to sway any radicals and all your going to do is attract attention to yourself, in a bad way. I'm not saying stop, just be careful.
3: HaAH! Look at what you wrote: «to find the answer». Yes, we don't have the absolute answer to wheter God (or unicorns) exist or not, BUT! If we add the notion of freaking PROBABILITY, your argument just fall apart. Is the probabilty of God/Unicorns/Fairies/zombies fifty-fifty? NO! The fact that there's no proof is a REALLY good reason not to believe it exist in the first place (without saying that it's 100% sure they don't exist, we can say it's higly improbable.
«So don't be so irrational about it, use some logic next time. »

I belive in God much Fsmdude, you see when i spotted all this hate and pain around me, i spotted that is needed GOOD and i discover that ONLY ONE uncompromising think that giving that is FAITH - THE CHURCH. And, when i start to try being good for people i discover that God exist. Thats the way. I wish you all the best.

Yeah, sure. The catholic church of course, not the muslim church, the jewish church, the pastafarian church, and you just ignore all the bad things that the catho church does. Nice for you...
Since i was born i was in Catholic Church, but as you know Vatican is trying to make compromise with other churches, so you can be in any church that is mono-god like muslim, orthodox, english church etc. There is one God, and there is a life after death, thats the main way. The most important is to be a good man, because it make life good and easy, here and after. I wish you belive with all my heart. Dun hate man, thats bad and make you suffer, just try to forgive people what they did to you.
You can't prove at all. Thats why is belive word, that means you need to belive, not to know, i mean like science knowleadge.
To your first part, hm, first you must try to trust on word. Then you will get proofs that it is truth. Someone told me this is the way to know, and now i agree. Thats Gods faith test. Btw in many languages, my lang too, faith and belive is one word, in latin language - fides. Belive me man, its worthless.
If you want, good for you. Believe in unicorns, fairies, UFO, and all that stuff based on what people tell you that they saw it. Don't expect others with a minimum of skepticism/logic/education to do so.
«Someone told me this is the way to know»
See what I'm talking about?
«Someone told me this is the way to know, and now i agree. Thats Gods faith test»
Yeah, to know and faith, 2 words that don't go together pretty well.
If you want live good you must belive on word first. This is like, we got house (faith, God), and some people inside and outside. Outside is cold, snow, blizzard, death (hate,no love). You are outside and you are cold, starting to shaking, your thin clothes not giving you warm (no immune for hate). From inside going out a man (someone send him probably), telling you there is warm and nice people inside and want to take you there.
The problem here is that you suppose that atheists choose NOT to believe in god because they hate him. The truth is: It is false that atheists do note believe in god. Atheists do not believe that god even EXISTS.
Being that said (and is not as if you will understand, as it isn't a matter of faith or illumination; is a matter of ideas and facts), you will know why your example is so wrong.
Or more simple: You are an ATHEIST, to an extent. Do you believe in Odin, Zeus, or Krishna? Why not?
There are windows, gold light from there, but you cant see, because blizzard (hate) is too big for your eyes, so just take the hand and follow the man, and you will see what is there.
Go there where is good, use mind and heart not only mind, that always want proofs. But first realize yourself where is your pain, what hurt you the most. You see faith is like cold compress when you have high temperature. All this pain, this hot hate inside just disappear. People belive on word first to feel better and it works. You becoming not angry, is peace and bless quiet inside. Try that you will not be disappointed.
And after this you will experience God, you will know he exist, it's like light, unvisible hand around you, that rectify your ways. It's happening every day. Thats why people telling they experiensing God.
A Unicorn, if there is such a thing all it is, just a horse with one horn on his head, I don't find that hard to believe that something like that exsists. Weather or not they are magical, probably not.
I love your work, I think there may be a number of people who are prejudiced because you have minor pronunciation errors with your English and Mauvrian McSmiley doesn't.

So Christians think it's their God and their Bible that create morality? Guess that means every member of every other faith on the planet can't be moral either; why pick on us atheists? Go chase down some of those Buddhists and tell them they're doing love thy neighbor wrong.
People generally behave morally in spite of religion, not because of it.
I didn't think the first part of the response (about morality) was very good, but then, I doubt any Christian can actually show how their morality is "rationally supported" within their faith.
I mean, great, I can't justify my actions...so? I do what I want, just like you. I cannot control what I want, just like you. Whether we're slaves to our genes and experiences or ultimately to God makes no difference.
"It's all meaningless then!" Of course. And? "I'm sad now." Boo hoo.
you cannot even prove that you don't believe in God, you only prove that you don't believe in a certain definition of God---and even the latter may be proven to be an illusion.
the fact that we have consciousness leaves the field open for the existence of higher forms of consciousness
God or No God, the fact that there is countless amounts evidence we haven't discovered is evidence enough that there is not a more rational choice between these two faiths (the belief in no God is a faith).

Just because something pisses off millions of people does not count for anything... When the idea that the earth was not the center of the universe came up, it pissed off millions of people... Does this mean it was not true??? No...
"The fact that the very concept exists, and the ability the human brain has to posit the existence counts for something"
That just shows how much humans can delude ourselves. It's a pathetic excuse because for thousands of years everything that was not explainable was called an act of god.
That fact that we are still capable of thinking this way just shows how much further we need to come as a people. When we can throw off the chains of pointless faith we will finally be free to see the true nature of the universe.

Your mind is living in the edge of craziness. Considering absurd possibilities for the sake of "not being enough impartial" is idiotic. I could come up with whatever crap my mind makes up when I'm high and call it God. My poop is God. I'm God. And you cannot disprove them.
This arguments is the lousiest ever! Seriously, it's the very opposite of what you preach:impartiality and openmindness. Human brains also have the ability to disdain religion like mine. What, you're gonna say I'm sick? Did you know that there's a close relationship between schizophrenia and religion?
Seriously, would you consider the existence of a flying spaghetti monster? Hell no. You totally missed the point: your argument is weak because it states that, because most people believe in god (which is a relative stat btw),he must exist. It lacks logical strength and cannot be taken as a proof, just a value judgment.
Do you consider that there are religions with multiple gods? Don't forget about them, my little fallacious friend. Besides, your conception of god is so funny, that even my ass is God. People assume the existence of deities because, by nature, we are afraid of what we cannot understand/grasp about the Universe. Plus, we have a strong survival instinct that makes us invent metaphysical definitions of life. Most people can't handle the fact that someday, they will be nothing.
You're terribly fallacious to jump to conclusions that there is a "fact" that someday there will be nothing. Asserting this as fact, is just you being a hypocrite, the burden of proof is on both sides. No side can say they're right outside of a faith statement. Atheism is just as much a system of beliefs any religion.
Jumping to a conclusion by using lack of evidence as evidence is fallacious..
You assume there's no God because your logic can't stick it. You're just as bad as Christian nuts.
Debunked by the religion fanatical atheists making as big of faith statements as any other religion.
You choose to remain as closed minded as your enemies, you're intellectual capacity is limited to regurgitating other people's opinions who are just as butt hurt as you, because God wasn't what you wanted God to be.
You result to immature name calling to compensate for your lack of logical comprehension.
I'd say we both are being fanatical, I being fanatical towards open mindedness and concepts that are logically possible.
You are a fanatical basing a system on one polemic direction.
"My God" is something that I have never defined, because I have never defined God.
God exists, that's a fact, be it just a word, a concept, as an "imaginary friend", or as something more. Therefore, the fact that God exists (even if it is just as a word) means that God cannot be "nothing".
We have to this date found no soul inside the human body, no mechanism which could allow us to somehow transcend our material bodies. Therefore it is logical to take the position that nothing remains of a person after they die. As soon as there is sufficient evidence pointing at a different conclusion, we will change our position to match the evidence.
Secondly, you are afraid that humans cannot understand/grasp the universe, so you get rid of God, which you cannot understand. You assume the absurdity of existence, which makes sense to you, and you carry on the deluded notion that human beings are closer to the truth.
Ive stated only possibilities. If the evidence for God was right in front of your face, even then you could choose not to believe it. You can, at anytime deny reality by delusion.
Western Christian morality is not as supposed by those who have white-washed history.

God exists, that's a fact, be it just a word, a concept, as an "imaginary friend", or as something more. Therefore, the fact that God exists (even if it is just as a word) means that God cannot be "nothing".

A Christian? Under what circumstances have I defended Christ?
I'd more define myself as a Universal Absolutist...do I believe in Jesus? Yes, it is a fact that he existed.
Do I believe in God? I believe in the possibility, I believe in possibilities, just like quantum physics is based on probabilities.
I forsee it possible that this God YOU call mine, to exist in a universe of other Gods. I accept that 100%
For some religions God is simply Truth, and by that definition, there is no fallacy.

correction I defend the possibility of Christ, but I never "personally" championed for Christ in the previous posts.

We have to this date found no soul inside the human body, no mechanism which could allow us to somehow transcend our material bodies. Therefore it is logical to take the position that nothing remains of a person after they die. As soon as there is sufficient evidence pointing at a different conclusion, we will change our position to match the evidence.

fair enough, and a much better argument than I have been receiving.
but I believe this research lies in the limits that science has on studying the mysterious nature of consciousness.

and that still doesn't make it fact, in fact although I do understand your logic, I find it more of a cop out rather than better logic.

Also, I never stated "[my] conception of God"
Secondly, you are afraid that humans cannot understand/grasp the universe, so you get rid of God, which you cannot understand. You assume the absurdity of existence, which makes sense to you, and you carry on the deluded notion that human beings are closer to the truth.
Ive stated only possibilities. If the evidence for God was right in front of your face, even then you could choose not to believe it. You can, at anytime deny reality by delusion.

Badass response. I loved the dances, the cracker ownage, the rebuttals to the canned, tired old apologetic bullshit.
"HOW DO YOU HAVE MORALS? HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS IS WRONG? WHY DO YOU THINK YOU KNOW GOD DOESN'T EXIST?"
