@fatalenergy666 Is momentum a 'Magical force' or something? The body produces the energy required to lift like this and that's how the body works in real life. What does boxer do? Stand there and just push his arm out?
Please do your research before commenting, otherwise it just makes you look ignorant.
@MikeEves1 Oh but it is magical- not only that but it's "cheating". Furthermore, we should all listen to these keyboard warriors who so rightly put these people in their place because they must know what they're talking about, if they didn't then someone would probably tell them to shut up and try to actually do some of the things that they spend all their time criticising.
@Z6R And when you ask them to post and show the 'Correct' technique... surprise surprise they go all quiet - human nature never changes. I would love to see them jerk a KB of that size. Would be very funny.
that looks like it would be a whole lot harder than he made it look ...if you get what I mean-that would be hard with a normal dumbbell and I bet the kettlebell is even harder!
@Pantowski1999 lol, i can only give examples but a pound is 2.2 kilograms. it takes 16 ounces to make a pound so it takes more than 30 ounces to make 1 kilogram. a bottle of soda would be about 16 ounces or 1 pound. an ounce is just a smaller unit of measuring things that weigh less than 1 pound.
@Pantowski1999 im not concerned with weather you care or not lol, you asked me a question so i answered it so if you dont care then carry on not caring lol.
the funny thing about kettlebells is how tiny the range of motion actually is. look at how he's jerking this. 75% of the ROM is just rotation...if you look at the vertical displacement it's like half a foot.
This is a common criticism of kettlebell sport and strongman events generally. The tradition of strength athletes is the art of "moving the body under weight" which might account for the smaller range of motion. Fedorenko in this video appears to be leaning far enough over that he is actually executing a jerk bent press, which limits range of motion to accommodate more weight. However, I will say that pressing 200 pounds one armed with any form is a feat of strength.
honestly, i'm not even criticizing it. i don't criticize powerlifters for taking more than half of the ROM off of their bench. this IS an INCREDIBLE feat of strength, and no matter how small the ROM, it requires impeccable form to do this. i was just observing that with the right training, it really is tiny, not only due to the rotation of the kettlebell, but the fact that he's jerking it instead of pushing it. still...definitely agreed that it's ridiculous.
fedorenko is not the person lifting the weight, as for form it is good, kettlebell lifting is not about isolating single muscle group but whole body movements.
does any1 have an idea of how some1 like this trains in general...would he exclusively use kettlebells of varying weight or also use squat/dead/etc...
Amazing: his strength, in total contrast to his almost under-built body, astounds me; also, my toes can hardly help but bite their nails after watching him lift that bell while wearing sandals.
i tried it once back in highschool, i made it through one and on the second my shoulder popped out. you have to be tougher than fucking nails to do this shit

jerking more than his bodyweight overhead with one arm, 7 times is very animal! interesting to have seen what he was doing hanging off the pullup bar afterwards....

Well have to agree to disagree on the potential for orthopedic injury presented by swinging around what is essentially a small wrecking ball with a handle.
As to being overpowered by someone, I'm not concerned with that. I'm 6' 6", well over 250lbs and, most significantly, I have a concealed carry permit and a .40 S&W.
you are a fucking idiot. you disagree with 271975hctruth;s statment but you offer no evidence to dispute it. and 6'6 250 is fucking weak I bet you cant bench 200. usually taller guys are weak as bitches because they have no leverage since thier limbs are so long. pull a gun out in a fight and get ready for jail. unless you are posting from prison I assume you have never used that gun nor will you ever.
The fact that you referenced A. my height, and B. 200lb. inclines me to believe that you are a puny dwarf with a chronic case of shortman's disease.
You show a woeful ignorance of the variegate nature of the law. In my state, there is no obligation to back down from an assailant. One can legally defend oneself with deadly force. So, hobbit bitch, if you want to--best case scenario--spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair, shitting into a bag, try me.
wow I guess that I am right about how weak you are! 200 must be way more than what you can do. and you are full of shit too! if you shoot an unarmed person simply for starting a fight you will go to prison. the states dont have the authority to say what murder is dumb fuck. that is up to the feds maybe your fag boy friend will beat me up after I knock the teeth out of your queer head. oh wait I forgot!! your state lets you kill people for that! you must live in a state in some 3rd world country.
Funny thing about it is that he basically looks like a pizza delivery guy. Somewhat built I guess but you really wouldn't look twice at him. A lot of the kettlebell people are like this-- not all that large but they have cuts that look like a mountain range.
A lot of this is "skill," meaning that someone who SHOULD be able to lift that huge weight (not like this guy) would very likely be unable to do that exercise the first time they tried it.
Even so, DAMN, kid is lifting 200 lbs above his head like it's nothing!
@sambaldwin: I'm already big naturally. I want to get massively strong. Cut wouldn't hurt too much either :(
It is unique lift in that regard that it requires static strength in your obliques and shoulders that you usually don't train enough in other exercises to be good at jerks without doing actual jerks. But don't be fooled, it is strenght alright.
The impetus for each component of the movement comes out of his pelvic girdle which is home to some of the most powerful movements available to the body. The hip motion in the second part, when he presses it, is similar to some judo throws where there are some 1200 pounds of leverage if I remember right.
Kettlebells are a great way to workout and so are dumbbells and barbells. They all have their purposes. I don't see why anyone should limit themselves to any 1 when using all of them would get you the best overall shape.

very impressive but the guy still does not look in very good shape, all very well lifting heavy weights if your body does not look ripped, I would rather lift light weights and get a ripped body...
That bell is mental, i wish every time i looked for heavy kettlebell lifts though that they werent always jerking the thing, ive always thought of jerks as the best way to get used to a bell you cant press until you can, it seems after the 60kg mark that people just jerk everything, the only guy ive seen doing anything different is oldschool valentin dikul with 80kg snatches and flips, respect to the featured lifter though, is he a pupil of filikidos?

I dont believe it. No way. The strongest guys in the world that compete at the arnold classic compete with 200lb dbs and its nuuttts. They all come from plin, olyliftin, and strongman background. this is defin fake no quesiton, maybe 140lb kb, no way 200 pounds.
i saw him do it in person. he can jerk 2-110lb bells for a total of 50 reps non stop. most impressive display of lifting i have ever seen. the bell is a comp 32kg ball filled with lead and with a lead attachment connected to the bottom. he is or was at that time the jr(under 19)world champ in kettlebell sport. that makes him in his sport the same as arnold champ, oly champ, ...

Yeah. Everyone that is stronger than you MUST be on steroids. It's the only explanation for being able to lift heavy weight, because without drugs, the human body just isn't capable through hard work alone ;)

wow I guess that I am right about how weak you are!

Fedorenko (coach in the video) told us at a cert. last year that this guy is only a teenager.
enamayan 2 years ago
Funny thing about it is that he basically looks like a pizza delivery guy. Somewhat built I guess but you really wouldn't look twice at him. A lot of the kettlebell people are like this-- not all that large but they have cuts that look like a mountain range.
carcosa 2 years ago 2
thats the best part. looks are decieving and no one thinks twice about us. though we could probably lift and move more.
nascarfreak45 2 years ago
that's fucking crazy strong
crazy technique
he lifts it with his thumb
sam14641 2 years ago 2
A lot of this is "skill," meaning that someone who SHOULD be able to lift that huge weight (not like this guy) would very likely be unable to do that exercise the first time they tried it.
Even so, DAMN, kid is lifting 200 lbs above his head like it's nothing!
@sambaldwin: I'm already big naturally. I want to get massively strong. Cut wouldn't hurt too much either :(
carcosa 2 years ago
It is unique lift in that regard that it requires static strength in your obliques and shoulders that you usually don't train enough in other exercises to be good at jerks without doing actual jerks. But don't be fooled, it is strenght alright.
Apjooz 2 years ago
The impetus for each component of the movement comes out of his pelvic girdle which is home to some of the most powerful movements available to the body. The hip motion in the second part, when he presses it, is similar to some judo throws where there are some 1200 pounds of leverage if I remember right.
carcosa 2 years ago
strength is a skill

Wow those are the REAL kettlebells
Trashjack101 2 years ago
Kettlebells are a great way to workout and so are dumbbells and barbells. They all have their purposes. I don't see why anyone should limit themselves to any 1 when using all of them would get you the best overall shape.

very impressive but the guy still does not look in very good shape, all very well lifting heavy weights if your body does not look ripped, I would rather lift light weights and get a ripped body...

what is the proper way to pick up a 200lbs kettlebell?
alex708 2 years ago
like a deadlift, back straight, using your legs.
ams914 2 years ago
That bell is mental, i wish every time i looked for heavy kettlebell lifts though that they werent always jerking the thing, ive always thought of jerks as the best way to get used to a bell you cant press until you can, it seems after the 60kg mark that people just jerk everything, the only guy ive seen doing anything different is oldschool valentin dikul with 80kg snatches and flips, respect to the featured lifter though, is he a pupil of filikidos?
jimmyjimmyf 3 years ago
It's possible. I've seen a guy power snatching 240 lbs with one arm.

I dont believe it. No way. The strongest guys in the world that compete at the arnold classic compete with 200lb dbs and its nuuttts. They all come from plin, olyliftin, and strongman background. this is defin fake no quesiton, maybe 140lb kb, no way 200 pounds.
tunnel2vision 3 years ago
hi,
i saw him do it in person. he can jerk 2-110lb bells for a total of 50 reps non stop. most impressive display of lifting i have ever seen. the bell is a comp 32kg ball filled with lead and with a lead attachment connected to the bottom. he is or was at that time the jr(under 19)world champ in kettlebell sport. that makes him in his sport the same as arnold champ, oly champ, ...

200 lbs and in capri pants now that is impressive
justin591R 3 years ago 7
That's pretty amazing.
What's most impressive is that it seems like he doesn't lower himself as much. It's almost like a press. A LOT of strength going on there.
Unless he's just really f'ing explosive... then that's impressive, too.

That is amazing. I'll bet he's popping roids as big as the bell, though. I hurt just watching it. Great inspiration.
DEFishback 3 years ago
Yeah. Everyone that is stronger than you MUST be on steroids. It's the only explanation for being able to lift heavy weight, because without drugs, the human body just isn't capable through hard work alone ;)
