Hey, forget what the guys below say when they say you suck. You're pretty good, you just need to work on some technique and stuff. I've been playing alto for almost three years, and when I play the tenor, it's pretty hard to play in comparison, it sounds almost like this technique-wise. Anyways, good luck with playing, despite the fact that it's four years later and you're probably really good now. :P
heres a tip, try to experiment with notes other than the ones in the blues scale. ive only been player tenor for two years and its made my solos sound alot better
@TheDOBERMAX For me, the tenor just came naturally because my hand size was bigger, and my jaw pressure was so great, that when I played alto, my jaw would cramp! lol i still play it in pep band, and it's still a ton of fun even after 6 1/2 years! I hope you have as much fun as I did! :D
Nice. I play alto, and hate how it sounds. Well, I played alto. I haven't been playing much lately. I might continue with another version later in life.
lol i like lower sounds better usually...but i actually like the sound of the alto better than the tenor. Yeah..since the mouthpiece is smaller...it takes a more direct stream of air to make it sound better.
Look sax like anything worth doing is worth doing right the first time around. if there is a school band program look into taking it. im a semiproffesional player in an orchestra and do freelance gig jobs. your director will probably start you on alto sax.
before you get an instrument see if the school has one you can try out or sit in on an advanced groups practice.
ask the band director for a reliable source to get an instrument if you decide to go thru with it. but do this for yourself and have fun. and remember practice does not make perfect. only perfect practice does.
Being able to play improvisionally is a good skill to have, but if your tone quality is bad and your sound overall is just not up to standard, no one will want to hear it regardless. You should consider trying to control your air flow and trying a more dynamic playing style. Articulating but not sounding like a honking horn is also good.
Practice, practice, practice! If you have the money consider upgrading your mouthpiece as well.
You are pretty good, but in improvising, if you can't hit a high note, just keep playing, make it sound good, and make it sound like you meant for it to happen. Most people will not notice. And then you wont have to stop on a good improve jam that you have going.
But continue your great jobs.... your good im playing sax tenor and i can see your good continue like that and maybe in china they will cry your name everywere.... we dont know
just continue and never NEVER stop playing... and... Good luck
I really wasn't looking on papers. I was checking my laptop to see hoe much longer the song was and the camera angle was way above my head, making my eyes appear shut or looking downward.

Hand size don't really matter though I can play all the saxophones and my hands are small ...if you can play one you can play them all
