Animals are beautiful <3 I made the choice to be vegetarian this summer, and I think that they should live naturally and not be painfully killed in factory farms because they living creatures like us. And then my stupid family says "Well god said to eat the animals and the bible says its okay" Did the bible also say to kill them this painfully and treat them like that? No that was completely our decesion. And even if it did say that, I dont care. Animals are mis treated.

Most animals actually AREN'T vertebrates. That doesn't change the message, but it's always discouraging when documentaries say things that are not true, especially when they are trying their darndest to convince you of the truth.
I saw the whole thing in one sitting. I didn't allow myself to react to all of the horrific images this documentary had brought to light. It wasn't until the end, with the closing message, that it all became too much and I cried. It was the first time and only time I had ever doubted, even hated, mankind and its humanity. Not because we are omnivores, but what we inflict and allow to happen to animals.
If everyone became vegan the world would be great. Someday all the animals may be gone for meat. What will people do then, the anwser what vegans do now. Grow crops, don't hurt animals! They cannot save themselves or protect themselves from humans. Think if am animal came up to you stole you from your family and slamed you aganist the ground just for meat. This video makes me become vegan.
I'm a huge animal lover and I chose not to eat me, not just to make me feel better, but because even one person can make a difference. I plan to make a difference and to help them in my way. I don't ever want to see another animal suffer
This documentary... this is what really made me put my foot down and say "that's it, no more meat for me." It took me 4 days to watch the whole thing... I had to keep stopping because I either felt like crying or throwing up.
I probably ate those kind of meat back in the 1990's-2000's.. I am sure that still exist today. I regret eating meats. I am glad I made the best decision to go vegan
I agree that animals shouldn't be abused with weapons or hormones. I believe animals were put on this earth to feed and nourish us, but many of the cultures around the world over consume meat from animals. I think we should limit our diets on how much meat we eat. Once or twice a week.
Be therefore compassionate and thoughtful in all we do, and the world will heal as our environment returns to health, all our children will be properly educated, we will all thrive in a Resource based Economy, we will no longer be disease ridden as animals are respected & not eaten and humanity will thrive in all ways as we usher in healthcare for all, where it does not exist. i think when children go to school, they should have to learn about the dangers of shit food. Fat people are expensive to have around, sounds harsh, but it's true. If people ate less crap, and more fruit, grains and vegetables the hospitals would be half empty, animals (my main point) would suffer far, far less. Go vegetarian!

@animalfreakize The lions and tigers have no choice. They cannot survive on plants alone... Even if they could - They can't walk into a super center to get them. As humans with the ability to understand the value of life, it is our responsibility to not deliberately harm life. You "want" meat... But there are a lot of things in life we all "want" - But do we "need" them? Or can we justify killing in order to fulfill our "wants"? As you know, killing animals is serious business.

@animalfreakize Actually most domesticated dogs and cats adapt very well on a vegan diet... My two dogs are in excellent health without meat or dairy. My vet approves of my choices - So flesh is not necessary for canines or felines. Animals in zoos? Are you supporting the idea that we need to kill innocent animals in order to keep other innocent animals caged for our amusement? Nothing healthwise is lost on a vegan diet.I haven't stopped eating animals for my health - But theirs. ;)

@animalfreakize Yes, that is how poorly we've "managed" our "dominion". We've actually had to put some species in lifetime cages in order to "save" them. Sad. One of my dogs weighs 85 lbs - He does great on his plant-strong diet. Think about it - Is it really "natural" for domestic dogs to be eating factory farmed pigs, birds and cows? AND other dogs and cats? This is part of "pet food" - It includes roadkill & remnants from animals killed (by drugs) in "shelters". Search: "what's in pet food?"

I don't understand how someone can watch this and STILL eat meat. So many people I know have seen these videos of the meat industry exposed and are still stuck on eating meat and dairy. People live by their tongues and it's terrible.

The main disjunct human beings need to overcome is that we are the same as these animals. It will never happen but I believe every person needs to comprehend that animals and humans are simply inhabitants on the same planet. There is no hierarchy to that.

Did you know that commodity animals like pigs cows and chickens, raised on corn, consume more grain then all people combined. It takes ten pounds of grain to produce one pound of meat. If you get all of your nutrition directly through meat it would take 1200 pounds of grain where as if you directly ate that grain it would take only 400 to sustain you. Maybe that could be fed to the starving children. Do some research before making ignorant claims, about things you know nothing about.

@thinkppl Im too lazy to look up my original comments so I wont argue... but since we always were omnivorous (meaning our main source of food was plants and fruits, meat and bones were only on the second place and even then we were mere scavengers - at the very beginning) it is not quite accurate to say "we evolved the enzymes"... they were always there. we only learned to cook what we eat, thus making it easier to digest the food.

Animals are beautiful <3 I made the choice to be vegetarian this summer, and I think that they should live naturally and not be painfully killed in factory farms because they living creatures like us. And then my stupid family says "Well god said to eat the animals and the bible says its okay" Did the bible also say to kill them this painfully and treat them like that? No that was completely our decesion. And even if it did say that, I dont care. Animals are mis treated.

I saw the whole thing in one sitting. I didn't allow myself to react to all of the horrific images this documentary had brought to light. It wasn't until the end, with the closing message, that it all became too much and I cried. It was the first time and only time I had ever doubted, even hated, mankind and its humanity. Not because we are omnivores, but what we inflict and allow to happen to animals.

i think when children go to school, they should have to learn about the dangers of shit food. Fat people are expensive to have around, sounds harsh, but it's true. If people ate less crap, and more fruit, grains and vegetables the hospitals would be half empty, animals (my main point) would suffer far, far less. Go vegetarian!

@animalfreakize The lions and tigers have no choice. They cannot survive on plants alone... Even if they could - They can't walk into a super center to get them. As humans with the ability to understand the value of life, it is our responsibility to not deliberately harm life. You "want" meat... But there are a lot of things in life we all "want" - But do we "need" them? Or can we justify killing in order to fulfill our "wants"? As you know, killing animals is serious business.

@animalfreakize Actually most domesticated dogs and cats adapt very well on a vegan diet... My two dogs are in excellent health without meat or dairy. My vet approves of my choices - So flesh is not necessary for canines or felines. Animals in zoos? Are you supporting the idea that we need to kill innocent animals in order to keep other innocent animals caged for our amusement? Nothing healthwise is lost on a vegan diet.I haven't stopped eating animals for my health - But theirs. ;)

@animalfreakize Yes, that is how poorly we've "managed" our "dominion". We've actually had to put some species in lifetime cages in order to "save" them. Sad. One of my dogs weighs 85 lbs - He does great on his plant-strong diet. Think about it - Is it really "natural" for domestic dogs to be eating factory farmed pigs, birds and cows? AND other dogs and cats? This is part of "pet food" - It includes roadkill & remnants from animals killed (by drugs) in "shelters". Search: "what's in pet food?"

The main disjunct human beings need to overcome is that we are the same as these animals. It will never happen but I believe every person needs to comprehend that animals and humans are simply inhabitants on the same planet. There is no hierarchy to that.

This is such an amazing video. The chimpmunks wrestling was such an eye opener. And the bird chasing its own tail.. tear wrenching. And the dogs jumping off the pier into the water was soul jerking. This video has shown me the way and I will surely give up eating chimpmunks. They're just to cute!

what happened so long ago? what happened to the trading of items for items who created money thus creating a corrupt economy which causes people to not be able to afford food, why do we need oil,and money? what is important in life? being rich? or having a happy existance? the RUSH is what is speeding up the depletion of this world. what is it that people want truly? well...i watched the entire movie.i was not impressed.
sure, this movie is invaluable to point out the horrible mismanagement and inefficiency (not the cheapest ways) in our food and commodity industry.
but all the appeals to emotion, horrible misuse of ignorance of the public (WE NEED ANALOGS FOR TESTING!) and the horrible hypocrisy of drawing the line at everything that has a developed spine, has completely left me disillusioned with the message. we are all earthlings ey?so are plants.

Did you know that commodity animals like pigs cows and chickens, raised on corn, consume more grain then all people combined. It takes ten pounds of grain to produce one pound of meat. If you get all of your nutrition directly through meat it would take 1200 pounds of grain where as if you directly ate that grain it would take only 400 to sustain you. Maybe that could be fed to the starving children. Do some research before making ignorant claims, about things you know nothing about.

nobody ever said anything like that so you can as well stop claiming, that people who eat meat perceive other living creatures only as food... we are omnivorous which means that nature herself gave us her consent to eat other creatures if we decide to... just like other omnivores do... cows are wonderful and (mostly) gentle creatures, just like pigs... but they are just too damn tasty, thats all there is to it... could an omnivore be blamed for eating you? feeding is a means to end our hunger.

@thinkppl Im too lazy to look up my original comments so I wont argue... but since we always were omnivorous (meaning our main source of food was plants and fruits, meat and bones were only on the second place and even then we were mere scavengers - at the very beginning) it is not quite accurate to say "we evolved the enzymes"... they were always there. we only learned to cook what we eat, thus making it easier to digest the food.
