Beautiful camera that can actually demonstrates weather sealing, rather just caliming it like canikon One problem with the K-5, it is grotesquely overpriced. It should be a ~$1200 camera.
I showered K20D + DA18-55WR few times, but I noticed mysty foggy droplets inside lens. So I DO NOT recommend doing that for fun and I DO recommend to put camera with lens into dry-box after. Seriously.
Is the 40mm 2.8 pancake or at least the 70mm f2.4 weather sealed? I really want to have this micro dreadnought K-5! Also, are Pentax bringin' out a new and homefully sharper 16-50mm f2.8 any time soon? Merci
LOL that wasn't the shutter firing ..it was malfunctioning! - Joke.
Very impressive!
Risky though, as 'water proof' (so as to be covered by warrenty) will relate to mostly incedental spashes & average rain. NOT deliberately soaking it in a shower!
If this cam was privately owned & the shower operator just fucked it.. I'd LMAO! & serves him right.
Seems slow in clearing the buffer? Unless they were RAW images?

What, for people who like to photograph themselves in the shower? Seriously, who purposely stands in a shower-like downpour and takes photos unprotected?
It's for people that actually GO OUT, you know that place outside your home...? It rains outside sometimes, believe me it does. And when it rains and you have a K-5 you don't have to stop taking pictures since camera can take it. You really should try to use that brain sometimes...
@Redzo79 : Having abrain has nothing to do with holding a goddamn DSLR under shower trying to prove a stupid point, dip shit. As a Pentax owner, I see nothing intelligent about this demo and find your retort just as positive as a lump in a ball sack.
@MichaelTrendsetter Why is demonstrating the weather sealing - a feature some people pay a lot of money for - a "stupid point"? And putting the camera under a shower seems as good a way as any to demonstrate this.
@MichaelTrendsetter You don't get out much then I guess. Weathersealing can mean the difference between having that one awesome shot, and not having it.
That's what i call a weather resistance camera
i have the D7000 and there's no way my d7000 could Survive that punishment!
with the k-5 there is no worries about weather amazing!

@jeng0312 it's WEATHER-sealed, not WATERPROOF. So, it's not a good idea to take it with you in the sea ;)
