You can get a magnaflow and have the sound tuned, even quiet.
my INDY pace car, the old collector who had it before me, let a hole form before the muffler, and it actually sounds really good, even though its a bit loud...lol
My other car, has a quiet exhaust and its tuned and modded, and its really nice, I got a muffler thats almost 2x larger on that car...lol :D

i have a stick 85 celica supra.....well, i say stock,,,its n/a with large exaust and custom intake. i have alot of fun blasting mustang gt's between redlights...its just a 5m-ge. these are the 2jz...in this case a 2jz-gtte. this is hands down one of the greatest engines ever designed...built...dreamed up...whatever you want to say. i will admit...a 351, or a 350, or a 289, or whatever other american engine do what they do well....the method and madness of japanese engineers is facinating!!
My opinion and which I think is the right one in this situation is that american muscle V8 are real true engines. European engines are more about logistic and boost from you must say it crappy stock engine if you remove all the logistic from it. It's a personal choice, you buy real or you buy new

I know a guy with a Honda S2000 with over 400 Hp with a 4 cylinder engine. Power to weight also has to be taken into consideration, and just because a car moves 400metres in the quickest time in a straight line, doesn't mean it's fast, meaning hadling is also very important.

Small displacement are sometimes lighter, V8s (or larger displacement engines including 6 cylinders and above) produce more power easier with less stress on internals. So what if North American and English sports cars use huge V8s? Thats like saying the supras engine is too big and should be reduced to a 3 banger.

Ya but conversely, there's only so much you can squeeze out of small motors. The old adage of "no replacement for displacement' is often very accurate. Additionally, these motors need big turbos with large boost levels in order to match some V8 and V10s. Despite the turbo influence culture of Supras, there's a reason not many are tuned without turbos, because once you start increasing HP, you don't want to stop, and you have to if you don't use turbos. Not as much a problem for v8s
@levelvtl Just to let you know an 02 mustang gt weighs less then a 94-98 supra N/A. Twin turbo weighs over 200 pounds more then the mustang. So why dont you look up your facts before you go saying this crap. Yes a 4 cylinder weighs a good amount less but 6 cyls weigh about the same as alot of v8's.

Because a 4" exhaust does not mean much if your manifold is restrictive...lol
(I'm excluding engine size, I know a 4 cylinder, that is plenty for a manifold, even if it was a v6, maybe it might be a problem...lol)

@MrTimothyalex @MrTimothyalex and just for your info there are plenty of 4 cylinder cars out there that would destroy a big block V8. I know a guy with a Honda S2000 with over 400 Hp with a 4 cylinder engine. Power to weight also has to be taken into consideration, and just because a car moves 400metres in the quickest time in a straight line, doesn't mean it's fast, meaning hadling is also very important.

@SuperGunnas I know plenty of people with a 350 v8 small blocks that have huge amounts of power and still have great handling in a light weight car. And I'm saying a 4 cyl loaded up with turbos and shit like that cant beat a big block. But it's gotta be one poorly running big block. I'm done having to keep up with the comments on this damn video. with over 6 litres cc. But imports, 2 litre turbo and still beats the shit? out of most cars that you see on the street with engines at least 5 times smaller. That is impressive. Honda S2000, 2L, 240HP. 120 HP to the liter, and light weight for the track. No american muscle can do that!

@levelvtl exactly. the guy that i know has over 400hp, his car is a rocket and is capable of a lot more power because he isn't even running that much psi on the turbo, reason being is because it's a street car mainly

@levelvtl Gotta love internet racers and muscle car and tuner extremists. Muscle died a long time ago. We dont have big heavy V8's anymore. Different engines have their pro's and cons. Small displacement are sometimes lighter, V8s (or larger displacement engines including 6 cylinders and above) produce more power easier with less stress on internals. So what if North American and English sports cars use huge V8s? Thats like saying the supras engine is too big and should be reduced to a 3 banger.

@mustangified That was not my point, I just wanted to say that a this Supra isn't rice and that there is other things that big block V8 that are good, someone else was saying that ONLY V8 are good... But don't get me wrong, I love the sound of big old V8 and brand new V8, nothing has THAT sound and it's great, I love it, but in comparaison with a Supra... The Supra wins in my opinion.

@levelvtl you do realize the 2jz is cast iron, and the ls1 is all aluminum... and most turbo setups will equate into a heavier vehicle. why do you think people opt for v8 swaps? better balance and more cubic inches to to start with, but just to let you know ferrari's v8 now holds the record for most hp to the liter... before you bash, i have a 2jz powered vehicle

Ya but conversely, there's only so much you can squeeze out of small motors. The old adage of "no replacement for displacement' is often very accurate. Additionally, these motors need big turbos with large boost levels in order to match some V8 and V10s. Despite the turbo influence culture of Supras, there's a reason not many are tuned without turbos, because once you start increasing HP, you don't want to stop, and you have to if you don't use turbos. Not as much a problem for v8s

@levelvtl Just to let you know an 02 mustang gt weighs less then a 94-98 supra N/A. Twin turbo weighs over 200 pounds more then the mustang. So why dont you look up your facts before you go saying this crap. Yes a 4 cylinder weighs a good amount less but 6 cyls weigh about the same as alot of v8's.

@levelvtl and by American muscle ur refering to any car made in America right? true muscle cars disapeared around the late 70s, and HP is just measured to how high an engine revs, torque is what moves 'em out. America has cars made to perform too, plenty to have brought this almighty supra and others of its class down. 900 HP Eg's getting smoked by 400 HP camaros. btw the modern ls v8 engines put 700+ HP from factory n/a so stop living in the past.

this is true, levelvtl is trying to make someone look bad, then making himself look bad for being ignorant himself. The V8 is a very good design (why would bmw use it in the new M3 if not? ), but so is the inline 6 and also the inline 4 vtec all good motors, so please stop hating. different cars and engines made for different price ranges, fuel consumption, power outputs and use- I like most cars:)

Also I believe that any performance car will be good at what you tune for, wether it be from America, Japan, Germany, etc. Ive seen beasts at the track from all countries.
