  • Whats a good amount of time to wait between food types?

  • @gringolazlo Between a watery, acid fruit to a more dense fruit like bananas or dates, I would wait at least 10 or 15 minutes. Between sweet fruits and fats (fats being 2nd), I would wait more like 20 to 30 minutes. It could be more or less depending on your physiology. The more you pay attention to your body, the more you'll know what the right timing is for you. :0)

  • Alicia you are so precious. I love all of your videos.

  • @mnktafrzna1 You're welcome! The banana, almond milk and berries don't make a great combo for sensitive stomachs. I would try just bananas, or, banana/date, banana/peach, banana/mango, banana/blueberry and be sure your bananas are ripe with spots. That's another important key to good digestion...ripe fruit. Keep it simple. With proper combining I think you'll be just fine. :0)

  • @healthyfitguy76 30 minutes is a good average, probably even quicker for acid fruits and melons.

  • Thank you so much!! Very very helpful!

  • @Consistency87 That's correct. You don't want to mix concentrated proteins/fats with carbs from fruit or grains.

  • Thank you so much for explaining this so well. now I know why I have so many problems with my intestines, I have had 3 surgeries and have always requested information but never have been given information like this.

  • Excellent advice here thank you so much for taking the time to share!

  • The lettuce photography at 5:34 is so perfect

  • I smoke, if i'm not ready to quit smoking yet can i still start this diet and get the good feeling you always talk about or will it not do anything for me'

  • @napoli424 I would definitely start this diet if I was a smoker, especially for the antioxidants in all the fruit and veg to fight off those free radicals. I can't say for sure because it may be different for each individual but I would imagine the diet would make you feel so good you wouldn't feel the need to smoke. :0)

  • ABSOLUTELY BEYOND FABULOUS ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

  • thanks for this!!!!

  • Great video and information, Alicia! Love your bracelet too! (: xx

  • Haha so my fave banana strawberry orange ginger smoothie isn't proper food combining? Bummer :) I think I might try food combining again. Sometimes it helps, like when I'm stressed, but other times it doesn't effect me.

  • Hey Alicia, do you still do the no poo -hair thing? Your hair doesnt look dirty or anything, just wondering...

  • @thatfruitarianchick Thank you...yes, I still wash my hair with clay and love it! :0)

  • Thank you so much for posting this video! You have demystified this topic and broken it down in a manner that is soooo easy to follow. Thank you as well for the food lists and charts. I am extremely grateful to have found your channel. I love your videos and the way you explain everything is very helpful to "newbies" such as myself.

  • @geovyvaldes You're welcome. Thank you for the request and your sweet message! Really happy you like the videos and find them helpful. :0)

  • Thank You

I think I may adjust my morning banana and strawberry smotthie to a banana and date smoothie. Then have the berries a little later by themselves :o)

  • cucumber is a fruit.

  • @amirprog True. I think of it as both a fruit and a green but it is technically a fruit.

  • @rawsynergy, I am having difficult printing the chart, it say you must enter password to print chart.

  • @ebonybeautyful I had the same problem with that chart too. I forgot that first one is protected. You can always take a screen shot of the chart when it's on your screen and then print the image from the jpg or just print out one of the other charts. Sorry about that.

  • @rawsynergytv Thanks for the response, I printed one of the other charts, I think I like the one I printed better than the other one.

  • Hi Alicia, thank you so much for this!! Lots of ppl on 30BaD have chastised me on bad food combining but no one ever seems to have such a thorough explanation on how it works.

Question: where do other berries like blueberries and blackberries fit in? I have been making lots of banana/berry smoothies lately. It sounds like banana/strawberry is bad since that combines an acid with a sweet.

So how about banana/blueberry and banana/blackberry smoothies. Is that bad food combining too?

  • @IronCladBen You're welcome...Thank U! Blueberries are sub-acid and would work very well with bananas but the blackberries are an acid fruit and aren't the best combo. Banana Peach is a great combo to try when peach season comes around again. :0)

  • oh my gosh..this is such excellent info..thank you so much Alicia x

  • But what if i have a protein shake with fruits and some flaxeed oil for my heathly fat ??? Help plz

  • its all bullshit what about high fat fruit like durians all fat and sugar

  • @MzBarbiiebella I´d say stay away from anything in a powder form and with a titel "Protein...". Also the fat and the fruit is not good together at all.

  • @MzBarbiiebella Well, that's the thing...if you don't notice any issues with it, don't worry too much about it. For me, that combo would leave me in misery. It's all up to the individual. A large banana, or banana date, or even a green smoothie would give you a better combination without the need for extra protein or fat but that's up to you and what works best for you. :0)

  • wow thank u so much for this helpful info

  • thanks so much for this! I'm one of those fortunate people with pretty rock-solid digestion, but I'm also a believer that anything can be made better. I'll work on incorporating this :)

  • Excellent video Alicia :- )

Do these 'proper food combining' tips also apply to smoothies?

  • @0xNEVVG3N Yes, it also applies to smoothies. :0)

  • do tomatos belong to the sub-acid group? thank you for this informative video. i think i will print out the "rules" and food lists and put them in in my kitchen cupboard (-:

  • @diluculi Based on the link provided it looks like tomatoes are an acid fruit, not sub-acid.

  • @diluculi Tomatoes are an acid fruit.

    You're very welcome!

  • Great video, thank you!! x

  • Informative and easy to understand, what a nice change! Thanks ;)

  • Great video!
