  • What's with missions?---Philippines is already 99% Christian of one stripe or another.

  • my wife is in the phillipines right now on a missions trip, I was watching your video to see what it may be like for her over there right now. Thank you for posting this video.

  • I never denied that she didnt hurt for that. I cant imagine the pain but that doesnt make her immaculate. She was a sinner and eventually had children with Joseph. If she lived perfectly and sinless then she could have died for our sins and we didnt need Jesus. Your worship of Mary comes directly from the Catholics taking in pagan practices of the day.

  • The Saints are not God. They cant hear the millions of prayers at once like God can. Why pray to your false gods when you can pray to God. I can talk to God, I dont need to talk to Peter, Paul, or Mary. God listens and answers prayers. It is through Jesus that I have faith.

  • Jesus started the Church. It was not Peter. You need to look at the story of Peter and being called Rock in greek. You will notice that Jesus calls Peter a pebble but then says a rock is what He will build His church. What Rock? The rock was the faith or the statement Peter made, That Jesus was the Christ.

  • The sacred traditions are in the Bible. We are given everything we need by it. If you read members of the early church they did not teach many of the catholic traditions. No where in the Bible is prayer to saints and mary taught. infact the Bible teaches that all Christians are saints. Meaning if you have been born again and saved by Christ then you are a saint. Also I am sure that the orthodox church would assert the same thing you said about following traditions.

  • Read any Greek Bible there is NO word "Sola" (only) ex Fr. Martin Luther OSA added this word in Fides (faith) and Scriptura in his September German Bible

Early Christians were called "saints" since the thy are sure to die for their Catholic (Christian) faith they were doomed to be martyrs. ..., each holding a harp and a golden bowls full of incense which are the prayers of the saints. ~ Revelation 5:8

SAINTS MEANING THOSE WHO ARE IN HEAVEN

  • Saints means believer. When Paul wrote to the churches he called them saints. He wasnt talking about the dead and nor were every single one of them killed.

All of thee traditions that Catholics have added not only are not in the Bible, most of them are contrary to Biblical principle.

  • because God has to give in to magic tricks and magic words. If you cross your fingers and hold your tongue as certain way and repeat something a bunch of times then God will have no choice to listen to us earthly humans. Mary is dead and is not God. She can not hear your prayers. Jesus is alive and is God. He can hear our prayers.

  • I was moved to cringe at every painful blow inflicted on Christ. I could feel the emotional torment that Mary endured as she watched her son tortured"

~ a person who saw the movie The Passion of the Christ

Marys prayers are especially effective on our behalf because of her relationship with her Son (John 2:111).

  • For one to put a quote from someone who saw a movie as authoritative is ridiculous. Also to assert that because Mary was Jesus's earthy mother that she can hear our prayers is stupid. Why pray to her when I can pray directly to Jesus. I can talk to God that father. I don't need mary. I love her for her obediance and see her example. But she is not God nor perfect. Jesus even said that those who follow Him are his mother and brothers. Christians are his family. He listens to my prayers.

  • PREACHERS ARE SENT

Since we have heard that some of our number (who went out) without any mandate from us have upset you with their teachings and disturbed your peace of mind Acts 15:24 We have with one accord decided to choose representatives and to send them to you along with our beloved Barnabas and Paul.. Acts 15:25

Meaning Apostolic Successions = passed on to Apostles to the Catholic Bishops to Priests.

YOUR MINISTERS DOES NOT HAVE AUTHENTIC Laying of Hands from THE APOSTLES

  • You make a giant leap of logic from sending representative to apostolic succession. You assert that since the apostles sent out representative that they must have meant for apostolic procession. For one the orthodox church can lay a higher claim to that succession but it doesnt matter. Acts 15:24-25 is talking about false teachers and putting approval on Pauls ministry. It is a great leap of logic to say this authenticates the Catholic church.

  • Very nice I am sure you have already been blessed. As you know, and has it is already been proven by some posts, percecution is very much alive. I wonder what hardships these negative posters put themselves through for the sake of the poor?

  • you are so very welcome

  • your welcome

  • anyone who goes on a mission trip and thinks they did a good thing is an idiot. How is it a good thing to go into another country and take advangage of people that are in a bad state to spread your religion. your pretty much bribing them with food and clean water and hten you go home feeling all good about yourself. the church has brainwashed you quite well

  • Thanks for watching the video but Im afraid you have missed the point. We are not going overseas to take advantage of people. I know that everyone who goes with us absolutely love the Filipino people with all our hearts. I would gladly die for any of them. It is out of this love that we give them food, water, financial help, and most importantly the Gospel.I would challenge you to go share kindness with your fellow man.Christians give more to charity in one year than atheists of all time.

  • umm your takeing advangage of them because your giving them food and water, and then teaching them your religion. and they pretty much will listen to you no matter what and throw away there own culture just because theres nice american people with food and money that wanna teach us about christ. and you wanna tell me thats not takeing advangage fo someone im not sure why you can't just give them food and water and leave religion the hell out of it. That would be a moral thing to do.

  • Well, if what we believe is true, then God truly did tell us to go spread the gospel. He didn't say to only spread it to the rich. We would still be spreading it even if their country was in a better condition then ours. We are not brainwashed. I can assure you of that.

  • im just not sure why you cant just help these people and let them keep there own culture. Do you have any idea how many different cultures christianity has destroyed?

  • Dont you understand? We are not forcing religion on them! We are telling them about Jesus. It is a matter of life and death, not a matter of culture. If we do not go to them when we have the opportunity to, we are responsible for their deaths.

  • Whoever you are, you have no right to criticize these missionaries who gave up the comforts of this country to spread the word of God on a third world country like the Philippines. Instead of criticizing and complaining you ought to try going to a pooerer place & you will learn how fortunate you are. To this missionaries who have visited my place of birth-Thank you.

  • Thank you for the nice comments

  • I pray for the person posting the last 2 responses you have, not worthy of discussion tho! I like the video & we are starting to "Get out of the Boat" at our church & get out of the country in His name. We were so blessed for our Haiti trip and I might look into the Philipines for 2010.

How did you compose your movie? I use Photo Story but I do not have the ability to put in moving pictures (like your opening ocean waves). Please reply if you can!

  • Hey thanks for your nice comment. I use pinnacle professional editing software. It is not too hard to use but can allow you to do all kinds of stuff.

  • Obviously you didnt get my metaphor. Go figure.

  • oh i got it. but God is not a biggoted tyrant.

  • How did i get to this video? Well anyways, thank you for robbing there cultural and teaching them a religion that involves a biggoted tyrant with a gun to his followers head. Yeah, that is real love.

  • huh? We don't steal their culture but actually do a lot of good things on our trips. We build churches, help pay for students to attend school, buy food, clothing, and many other great things. Christianity has nothing to do with a biggoted tyrant nor having a gun to our head. Thanks for watching but we could have done without your hatefilled comments.
