cd before that one is describing how his parents divorce affected his life. His love for his wife was still so strong and he deeply regretted his choice and you can hear the desperation in his music throughout the cd. it is really heartbreaking. anyways i love william fitzsimmons because of this dance. so thank you for dancing to this song. It is truly beautiful music with a beautiful heartbreaking story behind it.
your story and i realized how beautiful it is to see the same dance and hear the same song and think two totally different things and still be touched by it. After researching the song and song writer and even after getting an email from him i know that the song is an attempt like his whole cd to share the story of how his marriage fell apart after making the horrible mistake of cheating on his wife. when i first saw this without knowing the song or your thoughts about it i first thought about the girl and guy being dressed up for a night such as prom maybe possibly reliving the past. the words to the song made me think this could be about a night where he took advantage of her and she resented him for it. like he stole her innocence. Any art is objective, and not really about what the artist intended...it is, in my opinion, about the ability to grab the observer and make them feel something, then assists them in determining what it is that they are feeling,and why. The art helps conclusions to be made about themselves.
I can just tell and sense all the passion and love you put into this number. Emily, the way you dance and the way you express feelings through dance is remarkable. these dancers are so amazingly talented. you should be so proud. speechless.... beauty... marvelous.

you can see on her face at the beginning how hopeful she is that he will notice her, she sort of goes up on her toes when she is doing her hair. i love that, anticipation. but as the dance goes on you see the change. i like at 1:11 how she ruffles her dress and grabs him, she wants him to understand, i love little things like that in a dance. Kelsey and Teddy you are both unbelievable! and Emily... you are AMAZING. (and thanks for getting me obsessed with yet another song!)

like I dont know how to explain my feelings toward ur work or anything u do without sounding like a total cheese ball but i feel like I should when i watch your dances to me they dont seem like dances I dont feel like Im watching dance I feel like ur pieces have a way of telling a story through movement & u dont even really need an explanation to understand them The story u wrote was almost the same story I had & for people to understand ur message wtihout explaining its very powerful.
i think the two versions seem really different. i personally like the black and white better but im not sure why exactly. but maybe it was more intimate. the one in color... was performed in front of a lot of people. the other one was late at night in a dark studio and they were tired and they barely knew the routine or each other yet. and i like the delicateness of that.

that is my favorite line of the whole song. reminds me of all the things that have shaped me. and how these young dancers are living and doing great things and capable of limitless stuff, even though they are young.
i think my childhood, teenhood, growing up time was the most important time of my life.. as i was "in the making."
and as i watched kelsey and teddy this past weekend.. and i remembered that they are kind of just kids... so young... it made me smile. because it proved the point that i always believe... everything you need to be inspirational and full potentialed is already there... you just have to open your mouth, or body, and release it.

I love this. It's done to perfection. especially when Teddy 1st comes up to Kelsey. that moment is captured as if it came right out of a movie. That's how good it is. It's that scene where it shows the girl's hope. feeling beautiful. and willing for this man. and he comes and it all just blows past him in a second like okay. okay. to have not noticed that little something that's been there in front of him. yet, he has his own story, his own feelings. leaving the girl again with only her hope.
sooo i kinda have this idea that you should like try to put your vids on itunes so that people..like me..that obsessss over your vids.. like this one.. can just buy them and not have to go through converting and blahblah to put them on ipods...ya know?

I don't think I've ever been so moved by a piece before. I am sitting here with such an aching feeling in my gut... but the good kind, ya know? The kind that comes from feeling the emotion that the dancers are feeling. As a choreographer, you are truly in a class of your own.

i think i will be i oklahoma until i cant dance anymore. then i want to run away with the man i love and travel the world and shop and learn to draw. like, i think the work i get to do here.. i think it is the work of the best days of my life.... so, i better enjoy and savor and celebrate. don't think it gets better than this for me. maybe. but man, i don't know.

Wow. This is incredible. The story is clear even if you aren't a dancer. I love the explanation and the dancers portrayed it beautifully. You should be proud of how they danced in this dance. I have watched all of your dances but I think you have outdone yourself this time with the choreography.

i was very proud of how they danced. like, it really was one of the best moments of my life... being a part of this duet... or trio, i guess. it made me feel grateful and a bit undeserving. but very proudly in awe of both of them.

like I dont know how to explain my feelings toward ur work or anything u do without sounding like a total cheese ball but i feel like I should when i watch your dances to me they dont seem like dances I dont feel like Im watching dance I feel like ur pieces have a way of telling a story through movement & u dont even really need an explanation to understand them The story u wrote was almost the same story I had & for people to understand ur message wtihout explaining its very powerful.

i think the two versions seem really different. i personally like the black and white better but im not sure why exactly. but maybe it was more intimate. the one in color... was performed in front of a lot of people. the other one was late at night in a dark studio and they were tired and they barely knew the routine or each other yet. and i like the delicateness of that.
i wish you could have came. kelsey said, you should text taloa. but i got a new phone and my contacts didnt import.

i thought i liked color better better but i just rewatched both---i like black and white. its like woosey, or delirious or dream like. almost soothing and sad. color we r in our heated argument- i am glad we got to perform it both ways tho. its really cool

that is my favorite line of the whole song. reminds me of all the things that have shaped me. and how these young dancers are living and doing great things and capable of limitless stuff, even though they are young.
i think my childhood, teenhood, growing up time was the most important time of my life.. as i was "in the making."

and as i watched kelsey and teddy this past weekend.. and i remembered that they are kind of just kids... so young... it made me smile. because it proved the point that i always believe... everything you need to be inspirational and full potentialed is already there... you just have to open your mouth, or body, and release it.

ok...I just read your description of this and wow....that is exactly the image I got from the story of this dance. This is what makes you so damn brilliant! i think my favorite part about this is that yesterday when i watched this fifty billion times and i was trying to figure it out for myself, i interpreted it the same way as you wrote about. and thats exactly why you are such an amazing artist. if someone doesn't understand a piece of art, they are not dense. the artist simply didn't do a good job of communicating the meaning. but you DO communicated the story perfectly each time you choreograph a piece. i applaud you.

I love this. It's done to perfection. especially when Teddy 1st comes up to Kelsey. that moment is captured as if it came right out of a movie. That's how good it is. It's that scene where it shows the girl's hope. feeling beautiful. and willing for this man. and he comes and it all just blows past him in a second like okay. okay. to have not noticed that little something that's been there in front of him. yet, he has his own story, his own feelings. leaving the girl again with only her hope.
