  • i live in maine

  • this is a great vid i dont know who would not like this

  • It was the same FatKatz, crony capitalists, Wall St. banksters and traitorous tycoons who wanted to throw-in w/ Hitler and save the U.S.A. from Communism by devolving into fascism w/ Hitler and Mussolini in Italy. Prescott Bu$h, the grandfather of the last GOP pResident, made the Bu$h fortune by supplying Hitler w/ money, steel, fuel, et cetera. Fritz Thyssen : Nazi

  • @sheikaa That's because he people that you are sharing your mendacious knowledge with, already know that you're full of sh!t when you accuse FDR of being part of the fraud.

  • @Tabularastaify Grace to you. I lie not of this matter. Because you have been educated in public schools or private schools that are guided by those that have enslaved the whole of mankind. You will not easily change your opinion on this matter with out your due diligence of research. Go to, us vs usa. info/ . This site will show you the evidence in support of my accusations. If you do not research, your ignorence will lead you into the distruction they lay for you.

  • Sound familiar?... Look around.

  • I have no idea why were building the way were building? How and who the heck would build the entire world with bridges, buildings and farms. Are we just following the system (the way of old)? Is the Government (City Hall) relying on resources from corporations to pave roads for people to drive? Or is it just a corporation (wall street or bank) wanting to build on American soil for the currency?

  • We were not as well informed as the youth of today. Please try to understand. He gave us hope when there was no hope and so when he died,...it was like our daddy had died??We were not as informed as you young people are now???

  • @1chichimec1 Nice point.

  • c the prob is that the new one we will face will b far far worse becasue 1 everyone is on credit... 2 is because the gov was the ones that baled the people out of the first 1 that is nto the case this time because the gov is broke themselves!! prepare ypur selves people it is goign ot b a horror you have only seen in nightmares!!

  • It is important to remember that not everyone was depressed.

  • Outstanding documentary, as a Brit and a Yankophile find this fascinating, thank you.

  • @TheChrisrg It's good to see fellow Englishman, as in People who speak the English language, appreciating American history. I like you guys parliamentary style party system, I wish our country has something like that. I really dig the way you can cal for a referendum.

  • @CentristFiascox3 Cheers man, I am a big fan of your great country. Some people in this country start with "they have no culture" rubbish. Great art, great literature, some great leaders and from my experience great people.

  • the music reminds me of when my grandmawould play the panio with me when id play guitar, love the music.

  • Be happy for what you have... :)

  • very interesting to watch this I just hope we are not on the verge of another great depression.

  • ww2 start because market collapse in usa..bot nobody talk about that....bankers got free and millions died in europe

  • @salvadoraugustus you're trying to blame america for ww2? How about Europeans don't invest so much in our economy then if you seem to think we caused ww2 because of the market crash. I bet you're blaming this current crisis on us too right? Europeans claim to be more sophisticated than Americans yet they just blame everything on us and don't take any responsibility. Have fun with you're eurozone collapse and if you think it won't effect england then you're wrong.

  • @tyseibert i dont blame usa for ww2 but this is how it start ww2 ,,,with market collapse ...

  • @salvadoraugustus No, world war 2 started because all other European countries forced Germany to pay crazy reparations to the rest of Europe for damages even though Germany didn't start ww1. Germany tried to print money to pay for this and caused hyper inflation and therefore had a shitty economy and decided to go elect hitler and go to war.

  • @tyseibert ok..here u are half right

  • @salvadoraugustus lol ok then

  • This is the best vid I have ever seen on The Great Depression. Well done!

  • hehe very nice :D

  • Tooo sickkk

  • I think I mite use this for my project

  • @SydneyCarter16297 ME TOO BRO :D

  • FullHD please!

  • thanks so much this? helped a lot!!!!!

  • YOOOO who doesnt want to subscribe?? I LOVE this channels videos and PLEASE upload the next video faster soon!

  • WOAH I SUBSCRIBED!

  • This video is so cool, im going to check out your other videos

  • I searched for videos such as these because I KNOW something isn't right in the air in America and the West these days. We're pushing fifteen trillion in debt - 100% of GDP. If you include such spending as social security, medicare and medicaid - you can tax EVERYONE in America 100% of their income and we would still be in deficit! CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN! HOPE! YEAH!

  • Great video. It's nice to see what's coming

  • stupid germans voted for hitler because of this great depression, I dont understand people who are indicating USA as responsible for what happened, was it only Germany who stopped receiving the after-war-time-loans in 1929?

  • Since I am unencumbered by emotional distortions of FDR .by looking at what he did to me FDR was more of a Fiend than a Friend.

  • God Bless FDR. We could use a leader like him today.

  • @Lochfynne Actually, FDR's socialistic policies actually extended the so called "Great Depression" to last much longer than it otherwise would have. If it were not for his death and World War Two, it probably would have lasted much longer.

  • great stories, stories of courage and a hope for a better tomorrow, looks like we are there again today, may we one day all know unending happiness and stop wars and corruption, this earth is a hard, hard place to live sometimes, peace to you all.

  • There was not as "MANY" people back then as there are today. In 1930 there were 122,775,046 roughly. As of April 1, 2010, there are 308,745,538. Not including illegals.

You can imagine what is about to happen. Only the strong willed and body will survive.

If you do not have a gun, get one. If you do not have bullets, good luck in finding them.

  • go to usa vs us. info if you want the truth.

  • The great Depression was no big deal. We need to Impeach Obama and get someone like HOOVER. So we can have the fun again. We are almost their now, we just need to default on the dept deal. Vote Obama out. We need to remind the nation the GOP is good for something. DON'T listen to the liberals who fear of a depression they are dumb a clueless. These people really enjoyed those days, black berry pie sounds good.

  • @MegaELECTRICEYE I dont know why but I could not post comment here.

  • @shiekaa LOL you just did.

  • @MegaELECTRICEYE oh yea, sounds like tons of fun, except this go around it will be illegal to have a garden, and you cant even have a lemonade stand without a permit. This would be a wholeeeee different beast compared to that depression! The ONLY way you might not be hungry is if you know which wild foods to eat, and they dont cut that off too!

  • @wheelori814 No kidding, oh yeah we think Crime rate is high now. We have not seen nothing yet. And there want be enough police to handle it out. Where I live they have cut back on some of the police. We still have plenty though. But it would not be enough to cover it major crimes at once broke out. But serious from what some of see whats going on. We are heading to another one. And sad enough we have NO LEADERSHIP. Even the GOP Candidates are a Joke.

  • This is kinda going off track of what most of you are talking about ,but imagine what would've happened if the influenza epidemic hit during the Great Depression! We would've been wiped out =S

  • @flirtwd I feel sorry for you. I almost cried. You are going to suffer greatly when we are living under a fascist state. You are going to find out what we all know. "Some are more equal than others"..but you are not of them. Thanks for the votes that keep the fascists in office. Continue being afraid of socialism -- Medicare, Social Security, Police, Fire department, Hospitals, Welfare for those in need; 25 million white folk, the unemployed, those receiving unemployment due to job loss.

  • @flirtwd if you add the cost of fuel, shipping, etc., the average labor wage of a chinese employee, which has skyrocketed anyway, jumps to a total cost offering no advantage over an American employee. This is why homeshoring is picking up--because unskilled labor is only good at certain things, like plastic toys. Plus, the Chinese economy requires foreign consumption and low fuel prices to grow.

So, in addition to being poorly informed, you fail at trolling, and just make me look better.

  • If you see poverty coming your way, move to the state of Tennessee where the mountains and streams are, do not move to any state like California or Arizona where the mountains are dry and desert. Move to Gruetli Laager, Tennessee, where there are mountains and streams by the thousands upon thousands of acres, and live in the wilderness paradise up here and GET OUT OF THE CITIES WHERE CRIME WILL BE SO RAMPART IN DAYS TO COME.

  • the great depression and the holocaust was my favorite topic to here about in history :)

  • In the first 100 days of the Roosevelt administartion, 15 laws flowed in and the leadership of our country kicked into high gear to help out the struggling middle class. He wanted action, and he did it--immediate hope and change.

In the first 100 days of the Obama administration, nothing at all happened. No help for the middle class, no manufacturing jobs, just a cheap stimulus and spending our tax dollars to bail out a few more of the rich.

Where the hell is our hope and change!?

  • Franklin Delano Roosevelt: a truly wonderful politican, Bush's antithesis, one who reduced our unemployment rate from 1/4 to 1/6 and look out for our country during those bleak days. If it were another man who was president in the 1930's I'm sure America would have faced civil war and political unrest in our country like so many European countries at the time

  • F.D.R. was part of the fraud that has taken place in America. He and the world bankers have turned us all into "Debtor Slaves" but the good American people seem not to be able to be awakened to this truth. When ever I try to share this info with my fellow Americans they seem to be blinded by pride and willing to wear the cloak of ignorance as a badge of honor . Wanting to rely on the politico and the talking heads that continue to lead them further into fascism and away from freedom. Peace

  • @shiekaa Please explain what you mean by this. I don't understand.

  • @gustavusadolphus1632 Between 1916 & 1933 most of America's gold was rounded up by the "privately owned" FED RESV BANKs and shipped off to the FED owners in England & Germany. The reason for this was that FED RESV notes could be redeemed in gold and the use of FED RESV notes carried an interest penalty that could only be paid in gold. The American people were defrauded into trading their gold for (worthless) paper with green ink on it. United States notes had no interest go to any coin shop & C

  • @gustavusadolphus1632 The reason J.F K. was murdered was because he was reissuing United States notes interest free! Go C @ any coin shop 1963 U.S (not federal reserve note) note. 1933 bankruptcy declared in 1933 required Americans(misdirected) to turn in all gold coin, gold bullion and gold certificates by May 1, know as "May Day" the Bday of Communism in 1776 the Bday of the IRS celebrated globaly as "International Workers Holiday" a unholy holy day to Satan and his people.

  • @shiekaa You gotta be kidding. Did your actually live in those days or listened to somones BS to say this. So is the FDIC a fraud also? It must be since it came about under FDR. Do you understand why he had to redo the financial institutiions? Oh and by the way FDR being a fraud he was relected more than anyother president. Of course people in those days did not chat much BS on the internet either. Well I rely on my info from those who lived in those days.

  • @shiekaa you can thank Reagan and the Bushes for us being debt slaves.

  • @shiekaa so true

  • Buy Gold and Silver Bullion, because there's a good chance this will happen again... Soon

  • this gov needs to forget about the rest of the world and start working on our own country.we are headed toward this very thing and all our gov does is send money everywhere else while taking from the people here.

  • Yeah, well the stock holders that practically own wall street intends to take it all. Why does lust for power always seems to go hand in hand with greed? IDK....

  • This is probably the best video on the great depression here. It is very informative and helpful. Thank you.

  • communist propaganda tripe. ...........

  • nothing like a great bank bust to usher in communism. Big government is nothing but slavery. Continue to go down this road Amerika. That's what you WANT. The U.S. of A will eventually go the way of Russia. Good hardworking people WILL NOT continue to work hard and be good when the government takes it all away. Look around... already there are so many on disability and housing and welfare. It won't be long now. Free State Project New Hampshire... that's where I'm going.

  • I cried doring the hole film, it so sad to see what people went trough with the great depression, to think that thanks god this days we have food, clothes and a place to leave.

  • Wow that was some hard times for man, women, and children. I am shocked to see what they had to go through. :'[

  • So many people are gonna be absolutely screwed with this coming depression... sooo screwed wow i dunno what to even think :S

  • @CrazyEurazion The scariest thing is most people cant even see it coming.

  • The right to LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Health its a part of life. We established a government to serve the citizens. People who shoot down government healthcare as some socialist evil are mindless idiots who don't understand that the government is FAILING to meet it's basic requirements of serving it's citizens. It's one of the first things they failed at! No, these people are just greedy, and don't want to let one penny they paid in tax to go to anyone less fortunate.

  • @richfiles - health is a part of life, food is a part of life, sex is a part of life. I think you are taking it a bit too far. The federal government was created to do the things individual states could not do on there own such as a national defense. If your state wants to pay for your healthcare, great... but don't make the rest of us pay for it.

  • I really want to dig the roots of the stock market crash.

  • Ok, say I buy a stock that costs $100. Then I decide to sell my stock, and get $50. I would have to pay the stock broker $50. And I would get no money back. If you are still in school, you could ask a history teacher to answer your questions. Or you could ask me.

  • dummies ,Why they should of just printed more paper money ,bail out wall street banks & give bankers Bonus

  • @louis12346

Because that would make the dollar worth less, and the inflation to the economy would have been too much for America to bear.

  • What happened in the great depression? Did the Stock Market fail or did Banks fail?

  • @heartlessvietboy

What happened was that people invested too much in the stock market. While doing that, they also borrowed money from the bank. At that time people thought it was a good idea because the economy was doing very well.

Then the stock market crashed, and people had no money to pay back the banks, so the banks closed because they were so in debt. Then people who used to be rich had no money left, because by the time they got to the bank, they were out of money. Hope that helped!

  • No, its the same answer i've been getting. Why did the Stock Market Crash?

  • @heartlessvietboy

The stock market crashed because at first people saw their friends making a lot of money in the stock market, so they invested too. But, suddenly because each share of stock was so high, people started selling their stocks. Suddenly stock prices dramaticly dropped, and people who had to still pay for buying stock in the first place found the benefits of stock to be less than the price of stock.

    Anything else?

  • How can you sell your stocks yet still lose money? Nobody has givin' me answers to why the Stock Market really Crashed? Is the Government hiding something?

  • @Chocolatemaymay it was intentionally caused by the world bankers by way of the Federal Reserve act & and the privately owned Federal Reserve(not part of the government). F.D.R. conspired with w/bankers to give them control of printing the currency for the U.S. Gongress which is supposed to "coin the money and set the value there of" constitutionaly any way. But my control of the media they put in to print lies telling the public certian banks were failing causing panic and runs on banks.

  • This is so awesome with the "1911" music.

  • "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself" my favorite quote

  • Are past is going to be our unpromising future.

  • 2 things, people won't have to worry about depleting their savings this time as they don't have any and the Gov won't be starting up any CC camps as the don't have any money and the EPA wouldn't let them work in the creeks, ditches and swamps anyway, it's really to bad that most people don't even have a clue as to whats coming towards them..

  • @dave4854 Your sentiment is very very sad, and so very true. Folks are going to be starving to death, and watching their kids starve to death because they have no money and no home, and don't know how to grow their own food even if they DID have a home.

Americans are a pretty sad lot right now I'd say. Most Americans would not work in the CCCF camps. Are you KIDDING me? No way lazy fat Americans will want to do that back breaking kind of work.

  • @patriotgirl65

what jobs? Remember the government at the time of the 30's didn't actively work against the people, if you believe americans are fat and lazy and don't want to work, you are listening to government and media propaganda. Today the government believes the average working people are useless eaters, they want to depopulate the population.

  • @wolftreetree I'm sorry but I don't listen to the "government"...my feelings about we American are from pure personal observation. As long as the hg tv and the wii and the American Idol are still working, THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN about anything. No...we need a real good DEEP depression in this country to shock us out of our complacency. Of course Americans are lazy...if not, there would not have been the opening for all the illegal "immigrants" to come here and take the jobs Americans won't do.

  • @patriotgirl65 Believe it or not, I've never even seen american idol, kind of thought hg tv had to do with do it yourself home improvement, not lazy if your improving your property yourself especially if you are having trouble finding paid employment. May not be a good investment though. Heard the mexican government is releasing its prisoners and gang members at our boarders and telling them they never want to see them again or they will be put back in jail. We need border security.

  • @wolftreetree All of what you said is true. But the way things are going, people like me with health problems are going to be allowed to croak anyway, so....I have cancer...no insurance, no way to see a doctor...so fuck it. I'm gonna die because some rich fucker in Washington thinks I deserve to because my bank account is smaller than his. That is the reality of our situation here in the US. Anyone who is considered "poor", WILL be allowed to die. Period.

  • @patriotgirl65 As far as the Mexicans go, well, as soon as rich american business people stop hiring those loser mexicans and other illegals, they'll stop coming here. As soon as rich american business people start getting put in jail for hiring them, or sent to mexico with them, they will stop hiring them and they won't come here anymore. It's all very simple. Too simple for our rich politicians and business people who are making profits off of them.

  • @patriotgirl65

Don't give up, you can push for your healthcare, but if it was me and my own body I would be doing the health and herb route. I deal with cronic pain so I do understand the frustration, I had a wholistic dr. sugest cancer with me too, but my husband refused to believe that was even possible. Anyway, look up essiac, polk root tincure (only one drop), must prepare it yourself. Then do a search on secret cancer cures, including run from the cure. Herbs for cancer there are many.

  • @patriotgirl65 Perhaps the reason your still hanging in there is that you haven't had the funds for the Drs. They do what they have been taught in med school, alopathic medicine, it doesn't work all the time. I will keep you in prayer, try to find some support.

  • @patriotgirl65 The only problem is that with socialized health care it seems like you are paying less for your healthcare but in turn you are actually paying more when it comes down to the tax increases that occur. I feel very sorry for your situation but I don't think that it is the government that should help you

  • @GuitarMan5670 Really? Tax increases? I DON'T PAY INCOME TAX. I'm retired, and living off of my husband's VA Disability payments.

    Tax increases my ASS.

Healthcare won't increase my taxes one little bit.

I'd rather pay more taxes for healthcare than pay more taxes for BOMBS AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL WARS.

I'd rather Americans have healthcare from my taxes than THE ISRAELIS. I'm sick of funding EVERY other country in the world, while our own suffer, and will now start DYING.

  • @patriotgirl65 Why should it be the government that should pay you money out of other people's taxes if you don't pay taxes yourself? Why should it be compulsory for people across the nation to fund a SOCIALIZED healthcare plan? If you feel that the government should pay for your healthcare and other necessities then take a flight over to France or England and you can live a happy life in your socialized fantasy because their system is definitely working for them right?

  • @GuitarMan5670 Yea it is working great for us actually, thanks for noticing :D

  • @patriotgirl65

A deep depression would leave alot of our most vulnarable members of society in dire straits, this would include our elderly, children with special needs (we are saving many that would have died at birth a generation ago) britle diabetics, anyone dependent on the government in any way, anyone who is handicapped. Some say these would die first in a SHTF situation.

  • We don't have to worry today - money isnt tight, we can just print more :)

    LOL. /sarcasm

  • They should have stopped butting in and intervening. Thats the real problem

  • humans are cancer

  • Well im about to live it up because the 2nd great depression is around the corner. No one gives a shit about anything in this country anymore. WE as a society have become lazy and ignorant much like the last days of the romans. THIS WILL BE OUR FATE AS WELL

  • we're here for a good time!!

    not a long time!!

    so have a good time,

    the sun can't shine everyday!!!

  • @phxfreddy this is not realli 4 u,but-no disrespect-your father.i realli hate the fact that some ppl hate obama b/c hes black.ppl never mention that obamas half white(mothers side) and half black(fathers side)thats probabli tha reason y so many ppl voted for him(i didnt like McCain aniway-i think i spelled his name wrong)hes lik tha best of both worlds 4 those ppl who onli care about race.also hes realli smart and has done alot 4 this country in his few years-at least,he didnt mess up lik bush

  • the new deal help employment but what got us out of the depression was WW2. not to mention the New deal favored mainly white males.

  • Break into prison to get fresh food.... damn!!!!!!!!!

  • Hoover's view of the economy was more laissez-faire. He didn't believe the government should interfere. FDR engaged in deficit spending and creating federal jobs in order to boost the economy. Obama has tried to stimulate the economy by deficit spending, which is why the debt is higher. But the same thing happened under FDR before the country eventually recovered.

  • I honestly believe that we are headed for another Depression that will make the first one look like a merry go round. All it will take is another term of Obama, the most inept and inexperienced president ever elected, I don't care who runs against him in 2012, but that person will get my vote.

  • The United States entered Great Depression #1 with no national debt. We are about to enter Great Depression #2 with a national debt equaling the country's GDP. We are much worse condition this go round.

  • @MaryWaterton yea the u s a debt right now is starting to go in the trillions

  • @MaryWaterton except we don't have 35% unemployment and we still have gdp growth. Trust me, we are a lot better off than these people were. Don't be so arrogant.

  • @MaryWaterton your country is doing a shitload beter than this on idiot, as an outsider I can see it, you wont slip into a deppresion anyway

  • @MaryWaterton ha ha!!

  • @MaryWaterton I agree, everthing seems to be just like it was way back then. But your right we did not have a national dept. It has taken this country the pass 30+ yrs to get to this point today. And plus add on alot of more things. I don't agree with issues Obama has done. But I will say the next president want make it better. WE have no leadership. On both sides of the aisle. And this say no compromise GOP congress is worthless.

  • This was GREAT!! Thanks for posting!!!

  • A liberal propaganda film , why can't we get film makers to be honest an just tell the truth about history. Big government has created more problems then it has solved FDR's policy'd have lead America down the road to ruin.

  • dont let it happen again!!!!!spread organic heirloom food seed far and wide, its called"johnny appleseed economics"or"gorrila gardens",spread more organic food. wake up everyone,do your part!!?IF YOU ARE angry, get seed and make a organic revolution your way.SPREAD THE ORGANIC SEED EVERYWHERE TELL OTHERS! INCREASE THE FOOD SUPPLY RIGHT NOW WHILE WE GOT TIME!! GROW VERTICAL GARDENS IF YOU DONT HAVE THE SPACE! START NOW!SOLAR ENERGY, HAM RADIO, WATER

tell others to get heriloom seed right now,

  • What does it mean "and you couldn't get anything for cotton"

  • I lived during the Depression, the way things are going I see another Depression, FDIC? what a joke. I remember when people said, Wall Street should be burned to the ground. I remember the Band Aid fix FDR did and now they are falling apart. I was a very young boy during the Depression and the Dirty 30s, Yes I remember what caused the Depression, it was Wall Street and their gambling with other peoples money.

  • There will not be another great depression people...Half of you talking about it don't even know the cause of the Great Depression. Even if banks did fail today, you're money is covered by the FDIC (it wasn't covered back then.) Most of the American people had their money in one basket (The stock market), because it got people rich so quickly, and then when it crashed..poof, you had nothing.

  • @JJxMxP your an idiot and have never studied history

  • @liveordie1966 Ya your right, that American History class I took last semester taught me absolutely nothing about American history. There's no stupidity in my comment buddy; Banks closed and money was not covered, money invested in the stock market was completely gone, leaving a majority of the American people poor. If you have a correction, please, try me...until then, study some history before you try to teach me. I'm quite positive my educational background far outweighs yours.

  • @liveordie1966 you're*

  • @JJxMxP Explain to me how the FDIC insurance company pays peoples monies to them when THERE ALL BROKE. The insurance companies won't have the money because it is in THE BANKS....also, the banks are only required to keep 10 percent of peoples monies in the bank and can invest the rest. So WHERE WILL THEY GET IT. On top of that the money even if they did have it with the dollar collapsed it's like confederate money. IT's no good.

  • Tea Party Patriots believe The Great Depression was Obama's fault.

  • hello i am awsome pwnd

  • Yes, tis next one is gonna be world wide, we have been readying for 10 months, still need more supplies!! Food water and a roof and ameans to protect our ffamilies.

911 won't be there and the way they are laying off police force? well, you are on your own, people!!

  • the next crash will be the mother of all crashes. PREPARE NOW ! The elite want to destroy the econimie to bring in the one world currency.

  • anyone know the song at 2:23?

  • Get some solid facts on what's going on in America and elsewhere I like these You Tubes: Peter Schiff, his are all good watch them all if you can.

Dr. Albert Bartlett, Titled: The Most Important Video You Will Ever See.

National Inflation Association, Titled: Meltup, and another one, Japan: Americas lost decade.

One last one that I just found is: Why Are We In So Much Debt. Have fun and God Bless!

  • i guess people didnt learn the lesson of overpopulation

  • @jesskazen That is the most ignorant remark. We could take EVERY PERSON ON EARTH and put them in Australia. We could have a half acre each and 3/4 ths of the country would still remain as the rest of the planet. The problem is not overpopulation but over CONSUMPTION...We have been ruthless consumers buying and raping everything. Raping the earths resources. Not implementing different fuels 50 years ago when we knew we would run out of oil. But you follow the money...ALWAYS....

  • @xXXBOBLOBLAWXXx Consumption isnt a problem, consumption is a perfectly natural human drive. When everyone lives on 3/4ths of an acre where will the massive quantities of food that they require come from? Where will the materials for their homes come from? where will the materials for clothing, learning, providing infrastructure, and lighting/heating their homes come from? There are too many people, too many children, and there isn't enough to go around.

  • @jesskazen i think what xXXBOBLOBLAWXXx meant is the OVER consumption of goods, i.e. buying shit you don't really need. though our technological advances and economic growth have made many things more abundant, sooner or later the bubble pops, and usually at the price of our environment, be it natural or financial environment. it happened in 1929, and it is still more than capable of happening today (2007 should be a perfect example.)

  • Why did the banks fail? Did all of them closed down? Weren't people working? Were they slaves?

  • that's a lie, that blacks were given the same jobs as whites. As always, whites got better jobs, or better treatment, and white men got better treatment than white women.

  • Our ancestors were so much better than we are now. These people had REAL problems and dealt with them with dignity and hard work. Compare that to these spoiled little brats breaking windows and starting fires while demanding that the Government do everything for them while typing away rude, sarcastic facebook statuses on their iPhones.

  • consumer credit and margin ruined us along with the smoot hawley tariff act that was the main thing

  • I say bring back the "fireside chats" and get rid of the "press conferences". Speak to the people! It would be nice to see Obama do something like that.

  • America needs another President like FDR

  • @sully0001 America does have a President like F.D.R and his name is Obama. Don't believe me? Just compare his policies to F.D.R's. Talk of jobs creation, govt' money for Infrastructure(public works) Farm subsidies, Foreclosure prevention for homeowners, Insured bank deposits( now at $250,000 per depositer) We are not headed for another Depression, we are already there! China is now threatening to dump it's U.S Treasury holdings(u.s debt). I don't look for things to get better any time soon!

  • What a load of statist propaganda. Apparently if not for FDR people wouldn't have been able to wipe their own ass

  • The New Deal, was a bucket of CRAP. Roosevelt insured the depression would last, by Government intervention. He gave jobs to Democrat areas, and after an election, he would pull the money back out. The government can't create jobs, but they sure can kill them, with taxes and excessive regulation. New Deal, Bad Deal. Making the same mistake 80 years later.

  • This time around will make the GREAT DEPRESSION look like a Sunday church event. Depending on how deep it goes up to 90% of the WORLDS population will die. Back then America had surplus and manufacturing roots still in the country, today we have neither! I fear most of us in this generation will perish.....either to war or starvation.

  • Those were the good times. Today sucks

  • t's Scary To Think About The Days Pay Was High And Everyone Has A Jobbb & Lived A Nice life Stylee & to Compare those Days To The Ones Now Where You Seee ENTIRE Families Homeless and Starving/:

But Some people Make Their Lives That Way,They Choose To Do Drugs & Leav Schoool & They Ask The Gov For Their Walfare Food Stamps&Shxt Like That!

Or the People Who Just Lie Abt Their Economic Status to Get money Out Of The GOV. Like WTF!

  • Obama = Hoover. Impeach that idiot before we all end up standing in the breadlines.

  • @saper321 no thats bush obama is like roosibelt but agiast us

  • Hoover's policies mirror Bush's more than Obama's.

  • @MCE8th

    Why is that?

  • The Great America. Franklin Delano Roosevelt and The Roman Empire. The Kingdom of Congo and the Swamps. The Great Depression and The Stock Market. Timmy O' Toole and Little Orphan Annie.

  • OMG! WHITE PEOPLE!!! ET PHONE HOME!!!

  • The USA is bankrupt.. insolvent.... if it were an insurance company, the CEO and board would be let to jail in chains and orange suits.

  • I don't agree with parts that Federal Gov is helping out of recovery. Fastest way to recover is let market run itself. Less Regulation.... Look what O B A M A is doing... more regulation. More Taxes. Federal Gov is one who created this mess. Federal reserve is not even gov. They are private entity.

  • @chrisyanginc

10 years of letting the market try and recover on its own is pretty fast to you?

If FDR didn't do anything it probably would have been longer

  • We've already done everything they did back then, and we still have deflation/deleveraging, and no recovery. In fact, it's about to get worse.

  • Watching what Roservelt did to the nation and what Obama is atempting to do now. Once Roservelt was dead the depression ended.

  • Least thy could find odd jobs. Along with many other issues, lack of illegal immigration reform has crippled job recovery. Arizona tried to simply enforce federal law and has been sued and condemed by the department of justice and the obama administration. 12 MILLION illegals mean 12 MILLION jobs that american citizens can't have. Bailing out major banks was also a big mistake. We need to END THE FED.

  • exellent :D

    thank you so much!

  • the black white photos being shown I remember them from high school history class where the time goes I will never know

  • i love this so much thank you so much best vid i seen yet

  • The greatest depression is on the way. With the current society and morals this country is finished.

We have become decadent, sordid, and immoral.

  • @welhungjohnson That's an interesting comment consider your user name. LOL

  • @welhungjohnson

That's very true. This giving money and tax breaks to billionaires has to stop!

  • During the Great Depression, neighbors were kind & charitable to each other. I wonder if Americans could ever be helpful to each other in that way if there was a 21st Century depression.

  • @MishuTaste We will find out soon enough.
