@jonafier That may very well be true. But quite frankly my ears bleed when listening to her.
Yes a song has to be original BUT a song should also fit ones voice. And as "The Voice" does not fit her voice, it's simply impossible for her to sing it in a pleasant way.
It's great, it really is... But I'm afraid the performance of Celtic Woman of this song was better, as in the quality of the singer's voice. Te song will be forever amazing!
@MegaThilde Ha ha! "Norway"'s song from the previous year was actually a violin solo fron Fionnuala Sherry, who happens to be..........................yes, you've guessed it, IRISH! 5 in a row for Ireland you may say. Nevertheless, being Irish and all that, I think Ireland (oooops! sorry, Norway) should NOT have won in '95 nor in '96 either. This song "The Voice" is in my opinion a piece of shit! Maja Blagdan for Croatia was the most deserving winner and the girl for Estonia was fantastic too.
everyone has its own opinion.... either its the celtic woman or eimear ..... bless those angels that let us know this song............. just enjoy what we have ^^
Wow... um.. listen to Celtic Woman sing it and then listen to this version... it's a drastic change! I much prefer Celtic Woman. Their notes are clearer and they aren't as breathy as she is. " I " can sing better than that... sorry to all who like her, this is just personal opinion, but seriously listen to Celtic Woman's version of this and then tell me who does it better...
@pplbrk You are aware that Celtic Women don't actually sing over the loudspeakers at their concerts, right? They do sing and the first and second row can hear them but the rest all hear a precorded song.
I really wish the countries just sent songs that represented their culture, but I guess we can't do that anymore. We did it in 2007 and we came last :/
@lostteen08 WE represented our country in an awful and cheesy way. That is basically saying 'Britain is great, fly on our planes!! :D' THese guys went 'We are celtic, send in a celtic song.' What we should do is send in pop by all means but nothing that goes 'we are amazing', those songs very very very rarely do well. (By the way, I actually love Scooch and the song; I just know why we came last and live the singing was awful. :L)
@McGJane There's a lot of culture coming from Eastern Europe, not to mention that folk-ish songs are sometimes brought in by Ireland and Norway. Niamh Kavanagh had a folk ballad this year. ;)
i am the voice of your heart..........

Not bad.
But nowhere near the original.
Furthermore she can't reach the high tones properly.
As i've just sit here watching the original, i can clearly say she's horrible. Her voice does NOT fit this song.

@1Kapuchu100 I'm pretty sure the Eurovision Song Contest requires songs to be original, which renders this the original.

@greekstyle1988, I don't think the same. The ESC winner from 1993 represent Ireland in 2010 and came 23rd.

This is a great song and Eimear is a great singer.
She is a lot more mature and secure of her self, but is not enough to beat Lisa Kelly ;)
