If you're a beginner and you want to do string tricks, get pretty much any $20-$40 butterfly yoyo. (DM2, pgm, legacy, etc)

if you want to do looping tricks, get a modified shape yoyo like the loop 900, loop 720, yomega fireball, etc.

if you want to do offstring, go for a big butterfly shaped yoyo with a rubber edge.

I love playing around with yo-yos and make tricks. Especially loop tricks, Sometimes I can do them for hours without being bored. One day I took my yo-yo to school and my classmates were stunned what I could do with that yo-yo instead of just letting it go up and down. And I only was able to make really simple and basic loop tricks.

I had to do them over and over again until the string ruptured. But that string was old anyways. ^^

Yo-yo choice matters alot no matter if you r in a compertion or not. Imperial has a small area meaning that it is more responsive and easyer to loop. Butterfly is a string trick type of yoyo, with out the width it would be exstreamly hard to land on the string. And modified type of shape is good for looping and also the basic string tricks. Please pick your yo-yos carfully. FERRETMAN9 if you hate yo-yos then don't watch the videos and bihala1 i buy mine from Yoyoz.co.uk its a brillient store.
