If some one packed humans that where slightly worthless into a truck and made to eat out of troughs with minimal water to be chopped up and made into dog food the person would be exicuted. But no just because there are horses they are given a warning to give them a little more room. How can we watch our pets eat there diner... This disgusts me.

Unfortunately many people in Italy believe that horse meat is better than beef, pork or chicken and they don't care about the suffering as long as the meat is cheap.

Personally I am a vegeterian and if I had my way, I would ban ALL slaughter houses.

Some animals are not meant to be a food source. Horses are not meant to be crammed into small trucks with several other horses. Horses are not meant to be tortured and slaughtered in an inhumane way. This is not racism this is the truth. If they cared for their horses and slaughtered them in a humane way I wouldn't have much of a problem about this. Confess that these horses deserve better treatment than this. Horses have worked hard for us and this is how we chose to repay them. It is a shame.

well, is it better that the horses are starving to death in someone's backyard? No, but I agree, the way they are being treated before they are being slaughtered are unacceptable! That is clearly the point, why must they be torture before being killed / slaughtered? Why can't they be treated with mutual respect for their last days..?

i love horses but ive noticed food forein people eat is wat we fight agenst but they dont fight about wat we eat and i think this is rasism i do love horses and think this is really unfair but many people are stoping this!

Italie is the largest european country that eats horsemeat,followed by belgium and netherlands.

Some people dont even now that they eat horsemeat cause they put it with beef and mix it.

Here in my country they mostly slaughter old and injured horses.Ore horses bred for slaughter,majority off the worlds largets horsemeat comes from USA

i wanted to take home one of the horses in horse and hound.

he looked so much like my pony.

and now he's gone </3.

it's so unfair they don't have a voice with which to scream for help.
