  • Nice

  • I heard pan am is coming back? I checked there website and they said they are starting of sometime next year? Not sure

  • excelent films, subbed. pls

  • i feel sorry from pan am as they've been in some of the worst crashes eva

Lockerbie and crash of the century

  • I've always loved Pan Am, especially since Pan Am flew an Airbus A300 named after one of my ancestors. "Clipper Myles Standish"

  • If Pan Am would be existing, would have the follow fleet today:

    A320 family, A330 200, B747 400, B777 200&300.

    orders: B787 800&900, B747_8; maybe A350 XWB

  • Just say hello to Pan Am!

  • This is lovely ! Ill make one of EL-AL

  • :39 Check out that BOAC/BA VC-10!

  • What flight simulator software aircraft did you use to take those pictures from the windows looking at the wing?

  • @flightsimer747 - I used the Vistaliners 727. The wingview is in the virtual cockpit, I scrolled the camera back to look at the wing.

  • @GordonExpress Alright, thanks. Great video by the way!

  • Pan am resurected in Dominican Republic: PAWA

  • good old BOAC VC10 in the backgound at 0.39

  • so i hav a question, for all the airlines that hav fallen for whatever reason, if someone wanted to bring the AIrline back to buisness, could, and how would one do it?

  • A LOOOOOOOOOT of money and patience.

  • Pan AM's been resurrected several times as a railroad company, a Miami island hopper plane company and is still in business today, cept you need to be flying to a tropical island down south

  • is there a massive spike coming from the front of the plane all the way in back at 1:40 ?

  • this is quite funny that spike i think is actually attached to the front of a concorde except u cant see it

  • that spike was a censor that was put on the airplane during test flights.

  • it be great pan am was resurected.

  • It was, just not in airline form. It's a railroad near where i live, and even if its not a plane, its nice to see things with the Pan Am logo nowadays

  • Can I share this on Facebook? There are a number of Pan Amers there.

  • Go ahead.

  • Gone but not forgotten...

  • Had one of my best and most odd flights on Pan Am, a few months b4 they left. JFK to Moscow. I had been to Europe so many times but never this flight went over North Pole. Major Turbulance! I wanted to believe was normal. I fly a lot but am terrified of it. I ask attendant if it's normal and she says "no"! AHH! Landing in Moscow cool, though. For many miles fly very low, over endless pine forests 1/2 hour, 40 meters above, then boom, down. 1st class, too. Nothing can compare these days.

  • the song should sadly be

    'Say goodbye to pan am!'

    :(

  • once an airline goes bankrupt is this a possible way to bring it back? just wondering great video

  • Nice video. Would have been even better if you'd left the computer images out and instead included more photos of real planes. :)

Does make you remember aviaton's better day though.

    Cheers.

  • Pan am : a great airline I wish i could fly it but i never got to because it was gone by the time i was born :( I just wonder what made it so bad for Pan am i mean i know they had like atleast 2 crashes maybe more and right after the lockeribie crash they were gone.and my second wonder is what happen to those wonderful planes they had!

  • That was one remarkable airline. I have flown on Pan Am since I was small with my mother from and back to South Africa, and also on other routes. It was an affordable airline and had quality service on board. Things began not to go well for the airline in the late 1980's. They had changed their color scheme as well, it looked rather drab and billboard like. But the memories of the old Pan Am were great, especially the 747SP. That was my favorite jet and flight.

  • Long live the great late Pan Am. What an airline it once was. I sure miss it!!!!

  • oh! beautyful-music

    ...say hello to Pan Am...

    I,like old-america

    with, old-tokyo

  • i think pan am has regained service back in 1998 and is still operating but its only a small airline at the moment operating 737-400s

  • What a great video, as a former employee of TWA, it reminds me of those grand airlines which are obviously still in our hearts.

  • i believe this airline was the biggest in the world, a symbol of america. But can someone explain why it really went bankcrupt and what happend to all their planes ??

  • There are many theories on how PAA went under. It was mostly due to their order of the 747, and the departure of Jaun Trippe. When Trippe left, PAA lost its way. The final chapter of PAA can be started with the purchase of National. PAA's CEO at the time got into a bidding war, and spent more money than National was worth. Had the CEO backed down, he could have used the money to start a domestic carrier for PAA, while PAA focused on International Travel.

  • RIP Pan Am,TWA,Eastern and many others.

  • So sad, those were such good airlines too.wish they never went out of businesss!!!

  • Well done! Loved seeing the ole time prop planes.

  • where do you get the 707 and 727 and how do you get the pan am ai trafic

  • at 1:26, that is pice of history:a bunch of Pan Am 747 and 2 Air France concorde:)

  • @daciuss yeah its amazing

  • hello, Pan Am....

    a suziestew misses you so...

I miss all of my co=workers and the days of 747 bound West Coast or Cross the Pond...I miss you all so much...

    JFK BASED

    1988-1991

  • what happend to pan am why does itt fly anymore

  • they went bankrupt

  • Once a good airline, sadly got bankrupted, For all who flew this airline for all Americas this airline will not be forgot.

  • One of the greatest airlines lost but not forgotten. I going to miss this airline. But nice tribute and where did you get the song?

  • What other airline did the following:

1/. Maxim's de Paris catering (First class)

    2/. Petrossian caviar on demand

    3/. Vintage champagne on demand

I could go on and on but it will make me sad.

  • Is that Frank Sinatra singing?

  • Thats what I thought when I first heard this song, but I doubt it is. I have a few friends that like the old music, and they say that it is no him.

  • I also thought it was Frankie, and I searched for this song for a long time. It was actually sung by Julius LaRosa. The same Julius LaRosa that used to sing for Arthur Godfrey. There is a whole legend about that.

  • Yes, if you'll look further down at the earlier comments, you'll see that I identified Julius LaRosa as the vocalist quite some time ago.

  • I miss Pan Am and TWA.

  • Which of those planes had the Virtual Cabin

  • It wasnt a Virtual Cabin. Those are wingviews that I got with the panel for the 747SP

  • Oh...i see, those panels are good

  • Pan am was a good airliner. And now is Pan am clipper connection no more the last flight for that airliner was at 29 march 2008 The aircraft a boeing 727

  • Pan am was in the time before you where born dude. :P

  • This (and associated PAA video clips) brought back wonderful memories of the "World's Most Experienced Airline." "Gone But Not Forgotten"

  • were you also using flight simulator X?

  • Just FS9.

  • You named the song, but can you name the person singing it? I recognized the voice as soon as I heard it. Can anyone else here guess who it is? If no one can figure it out in the next week, I'll post the answer.

  • That would be Mr. Frank Sinatra! :)

  • Good guess, but not correct! By all means, though, please try again :) If no one gets it in another two days, I'll provide a hint. And then if everyone is still stumped by Sunday, I'll reveal the answer.

  • Yes he did sing it because it is on his album you can purchase. Oh well... either way I love Pan Am! :)

  • No, I guarantee you that's not Frank Sinatra, because I know precisely who it is. But I'm not only willing, but curious, to explore the recording by Sinatra to which you're referring. So if you could tell me specifically on what album you believe he sings this number, I'd be happy to check it out.

  • Okay, I threw this question open to the members of a Yahoo Group called GoldsAndDings, to which several of the ladies from The Golddiggers and The Dingaling Sisters of Dean Martin Show fame belong, and the answer was correctly guessed by one of The Dingalings (who, despite the name of their group, are in real life very savvy).

So for everyone here, this hint before I reveal the answer: The mystery singer of the Pan Am jingle became (in the 1950s) the first person ever fired on live television.

  • Well, no visitor to this page has been able to guess the identity of the talented gentleman who sings the theme that can serves as the soundtrack to the excellent montage put together here by GordonExpress, so here is the answer: It's JULIUS LA ROSA. His career began in the '50s on Arthur Godfrey's TV Show, and despite Godfrey firing him on air, continued for many years thereafter, including a long stint on WNEW Radio. He sang on lots of TV ads, and I'm happy to report, remains alive and well.

  • It sounds like Tony Bennett, kinda...

  • If Pan Am were still around today what aircraft do you think they would be

operating. I would say for long haul

Boeing 747-400 and 777-200ER with some

787s on order. For narrow body a toss up

between Boeing 737-800 or Airbus A-320 and

    A-321s

  • WHATS THE SONG??:)

  • "Just Say Hello to Pan Am"

  • My Dad was a flght engeneer 747 with Pan Am. I remember messing around in the flight sim @ sfo. Dad says what did in Pan Am was Al Frinke when he moved everything to florida, to this day he says Pan Am was Frinked!

  • I remember I took a Pan Am flight from México City to Miami in a 747, and from there to Orlando in the same airline with a 727. Pan Am was so good that then. I miss it.

  • Thanks for that video. For us in West-Berlin PanAm was our link to West-Germany so it guaranteed that we were a part of the free world. For that purpose the women and men of PanAm renounced to strike.Thankyou!!!

    PanAm - Die Flügel Berlins

  • For me, this video was, a Sad Farewell to the 'Grandest Ole Gal at the Ball"

    SSG Duane Cleveland

    Aunited States Army

Pan AM Clippership Waterwitch, Last Flight from Daharan to JFK, May, 1991

  • Why is Pan-Am no longer???????????

  • Started with teh '73 Oil Crisis. Then Cherynoble. Bad management after Jaun Trippe left. Sold off the valuable Pacific routes. Sold off Heathrow ops to UAL & DAL. DAL bought them out in '91. Cut funding December 4, 1991. Thats about it.

Anyone else think they should have done this:

Sold off Carribean routes, Sold Heathrow ops, and kept the Pacific Routes? Those are the only routes that continue to remain profitable.

  • Thanks, Being born in "83" seem's like there is an oil crisis every decade!?

  • As a former employee of Pa n Am, this tribute brought back some incredible memories. There was nothing like sitting in first class on a B747SP traveling from JFK to Tokyo. I miss those awesome times!!

  • I'll never forget how I felt everytime I put on my uniform. The pride we felt then will never again be duplicated in the airline industry.

  • And DC-10??

  • As a former Pan Am Purser I loved this video. Brought back a world (literally) of wonderful memories. What a shame that Pan Am and all that they represented have flown off into the sunset. Those of us who experienced it, however, will never forget!

  • As a former Pan American flight attendant. I loved the video. We were the true hallmark of class, diplomacy and defined the flying world. I remember taking 4 minutes to make the annonouncement your flight attendants are able to speak "X" amount of languages. We were the stewards for the UN around thew world; and the ambassader for this nation "You Can't Beat The Experience" "Gone But Not Forgotten" Pan Am

  • It gave me goose bumps when I watch all the flying Blue Meat Ball clipperships which I used to worked in. Pan Am was a lifestyle. And I am proud to be part of the classy glamorous travel history of yester years. Pan Am was a fine Waterford Crystal and a American icon.

" You call it the World, We call It Home " Pan Am ad.

When you climb on board with us, we offered gracious service of multilingual crew from all over the world. And that " Exeperience Makes the Difference " Pan Am ad.

  • pause it at 1:25 there are 2 concordes

  • what is so wierd about that?

  • My first overseas flight was on Pan Am.I flew their "Around the World" fare twice...Europe,Delhi,Bangkok,Hong Kong,Sydney,Hawaii, etc. What a sad day it was that lousy 9th Century punks could bring down not only a flight but a great airline like Pan Am.

  • PAN AM the legend,my last flight was pan am 102 and i was in the second one after the crash over scotland

i was gonna be in the first one, bert, dnt fly too high ,islamic terroristand ? hahaha , u for real ? its the business war not terror my friend.. u burn my home i burn urs !

  • Pan Am was wonderful, 'til the palestinian terrorislamists destroyed everything over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988. Saudi arabia financed that death and carnage just as they financed 9/11. When is the world going to wake up and smell the coffee?

  • I was lucky enough to fly on Clipper Crest Of The Waves back in 1983 (one of the first Boeing 747-100's off the production line and delivered to Pan Am in 1970) Such a shame we don't see the regal looking PanAm jumbo jets anymore.

  • This reminds me of the "Clipper Victor", the one lost on March the 27, 1977.

  • Pan American was America's airline to the world. I spoke with fed judge Jay Cristol in Miami and he told me he structured the bankruptcy so the airline could fly again one day. I loved Pan Am more then any other airline. They were so cool and beautiful. I loved the colors ---the light blue and white. Visit PanAm Dot Com.

  • I flew on Pan Am for the first time in 1969 as a teenager going 1200 miles away from home to see a girl friend shit what a wonderful world it was and what wonderful airlines we had in those days Pan Am made the going great it always did thanks for posting this

  • Can I shake your hand on that, you better

beleive it that flying was fin in those days.

What do you get today? Maybe fares are lower

but quality is not good like it was then.

  • blk24ga, I'm sure if you went on airliners DOT net you could find some photos.

  • any body have any pics or videos of pan-am in at monrovia, liberia airport?

  • What a great airline, I belive a Pan Am 747s pilots are the best pilots in the world.

    Thank you for this video

  • The only time you usually meet a better class of person now is if you fly internationally, but even now you meet all these morons GIs flying to Iraq to get killed, poor suckers. At least the flight attendants are sexy on the international flights now, I'm sick of all these fat ones on the domestic airlines now, what happened to the weight standards? Maybe I should just fly hooters.

  • Falconlem, I think you should have your head examined, your a sick puppy.....! Having worked for Pan Am for 25 years, Bos, Sea, JFK, I sure do miss the World Class Airline that it was.

I loved my job, and was proud to be a part of Pan Am......

    P.S.

I also would like to apologize to any of my fellow workers I may have offended during my alcoholic days. I loved working for Pan Am........ Clean and sober 29 years.....It's a miracle!

  • The good old days, when only people that made a lot of money flew, no "lower classes" on the plane then. No Big Brother, or Survivor scum reality show types on planes then. Actually my grandma flew on Eastern and she wasn't smart, but loved going to Ft. Lauderdale. this was back when tickets were 600 bucks in 1982~!! Jeez... boy was deregulation a mistake or what.

  • If Pan Am was still alive, which alliance would pan am join?

  • Pan Am tells me if you come back you'll get many doors open.

  • EXCELLENT-I miss Pan Am and TWA,The Pan Am today

is a joke to call that airline Pan Am.The real

Pan Am died in 1991 and let it rest in peace and

it is up in Airline heaven along with TWA,Eastern,

    Braniff and many others.

  • what´s the name of the song?

  • manoman432,

send me a message and i'll give you the links to where i got everything.

  • Oh and were did you get get the song??

    PS. Great Video.

    I Miss Pan Am Too.

  • Were did you get the planes for fs2004?

  • TWA & Pan Am were excellent airlines.

  • I think TWA was the best pan am was good as well

  • Say Hello to Pan Am!!

God I miss hearing "Clipper" on the radio..

  • The name of the song is, Just Say Hello To Pan Am.

  • whats the name of the 1 song?

  • Cool video, isn't it?

  • whoooooooooo! who diesnt love Pan Am?! man! i wanted this video on my myspace! oh well! i respect your decision! :]

  • Cool video but I still love UAL.

  • No offense but Delta is the best!

  • Delta is precisely the wretched traitor that pulled the plug on Pan Am and forced it to shut down!

And a hillbilly airline will never ever EVEN begin to compare to the World's Premier International Airline.

  • Come on! UAL is just a midwestern-mindset low profile pushover that cannot even dream to ever achieving a fraction of what Pan Am did alonng its just over 60 years of glorious history
