  • I understand your views her bud but who are you to tell Rick or anyone else by that matter that there isn't a God? You just did the same thing that your not happy about and honestly about 88% of Americans believe in some kind of God. Rick has said that he is against gay marriage. I am catholic and I don't believe in it either but then again who am I to Judge that is not my job thats God's job. Everyone makes their own decisions and have to answer to God in the end. Wish you luck man

  • @Twitchie015 I wasn't trying to tell Rick or anyone that there isn't a god. I said that to make a point, nothing more.

  • Love it. Keep 'em coming!

  • Marriages have to be blessed by God. Which is why atheists aren't allowed to get married. Oh wait...

  • Rob, first off, you explain your view very eloquently. It is easy to understand. I respect your views, however, because of my personal beliefs (Catholicism playing a huge role here), I have disagree with many of your stances. I DO believe that God exists. I DO believe that acting on your homosexuality is wrong. I DO believe that bestiality is wrong.

Despite my disagreements, I DO AGREE that you marry someone to be bound to them. It is about love and nothing else.

  • @RaeCharles394 Hi! I'm Tianna and I'm gay.

  • @RaeCharles394 I appreciate your views and I appreciate your not attacking me for mine, but you're missing the point of that part of the video. What I was getting at was that people who are religious can believe whatever they want, but lawmakers can't say "I'm a Christian, so I'm going to impose Christian values into social issues." It doesn't work that way.

  • @SpindipRob You make a valid point, but I think that it's hard for anyone to leave their values, Christian or otherwise, out of the decisions they make. Your life experiences and the way you were raised, form your values. I understand that a political forum is a place to put other people in priority, but those representatives are there because the people (or at least some majority of them) support the views (and values) of their respective representatives.

  • @RaeCharles394 When it comes to a social issue like this, you can't deny that religion has no place in terms of lawmaking. Yes, it may be hard for someone to leave their values, but we live in in a country with more than one kind of person, and the laws need to reflect that. Homosexuality is not a choice, it is a biological truth, measured and proven through science. A religious person can have any opinion they want, but they can't keep denying cold hard facts.

  • Very proactive to make this letter and I agree with what you said about people not all having the same reliegon, its very ignorant to assume so. I'd advise against discouraging people from believing in a god, thats only going to shut people off from hearing whta you say and it actually attract them to come and spew more of their homophobic remarks and anti-gay marriage beliefs. Also found it really funny how itgetsbitter pulled that 50/50 stat out of his ass abut the hiv!

  • @BrighterFutureForAll I appreciate your comment! But please don't think that I'm trying to discourage people from believing in a God. In fact, I wouldn't even necessarily call myself an Atheist. I only said "There is no god" to make the point that, while Santorum claims he is doing the "work of God," there are people in the world to whom that phrase will mean nothing. If he wants to be leader of this country, he has to respect the views of ALL people, including those outside his religion.

  • @itgetsbitter, you are a miserable bigot. Marriage is about love and happiness, why don't u ask married gay couples and see how they feel. Hatred is NEVER right, but love ALWAYS is. Also, ur promoting the suicides of LGBT teens with this hatred. No, it is not their fault, scientific research has proved that it is not a choice, it's imprinted in ur DNA

  • But when writing a letter to a bigot, u need to prove them wrong on their own playing field. Yes, I believe there is a god, but Jesus NEVER even mentioned it. The bible has NO DEFINITION of marriage.

  • Great video! Very clear, concise and well put! I did a similar video, but it was way too "talky"

  • prove my point? so you're saying you are the divine authority and you're belief that there is no God is going to make God not exist? you better hope you're right. not assume you're not gay, ok you're effeminate.

  • @Itgetsbitter What are you even talking about? I never claimed to be a divine authority and I never claimed to be in control of whether or not there is a god. All I said was that you need to recognize that there are other points of view aside from your own and not base laws solely on your own.

  • stay on topic. you're playing Russian roulette with you're life. 50/50 chances are you're going to get hiv, be bullied, have you're heart broken multiple times. should i go on. there is no such thing as gay marriage. only God can bless marriage. it is not up to you, America or the world. Marriage is only recognized by God. There for a state or country calling it marriage is deceiving you. What a joke. out of 7 billion people on earth you really think the world recognizes you marriage.

  • @Itgetsbitter You are proving my point. You clearly believe in a higher power. I do not share the same belief. We live in the same country, yet you're acting as if your belief means more than mine, and that laws should be based upon it. This is wrong, because there is supposed to be a separation of church and state in this country.

Also, don't assume that I'm gay just because I support gay marriage. Even if I were, homosexuality is not a choice, it's a biological characteristic.

  • @SpindipRob

"When fifty-three percent of the United States supports bestiality, then we can talk about that issue"←Both consensual homosexual sex and consensual zoosexual sex should be supported regardless of how many people support those. It's a matter of human right and not a matter of popularity.

PS: Plenty people support consensual bestiality, I don't know the numbers. I have talked with hundreds of them over the years, still, many don't support it publicly out of fear of stigmatization.

  • Rob - I support what you have to say here. I really do. But when you consider all of the stances that Santorum has taken, his gay marriage view is the LEAST alarming to me, at least when look at them comparatively to the rest of the Republican candidates. His desire to turn the United States into a Judeo-Christian Sharia society is the larger tragedy of which a ban of gay marriage is only a part. That said, thanks for helping boost awareness :)

  • @melkorsbane You are very correct, sir! I just commented on this particular view of his because it's the one that I know the most about.

  • When you stand before God and say I am sorry I did not believe in you, what will He say? Further more Rick Santorum is not going for your vote. He is going to ban gay marriage and enforce Sodomy laws. You also mention dedicating you life to a partner, partners, open relationships? Why do half of all gay men in the US have hiv? see Center for Disease Control and Prevention

  • @Itgetsbitter He will say "I understand why you didn't believe in me, but you were a good person in this life, so enjoy your next one!" Also, the number of people who have HIV has nothing to do with my point. If you wish to disagree with me, please stay on topic.

  • @SpindipRob I LOVE YOU.

  • @tiicklemyfancy I love you too!

  • amen. (irony)

  • Thank you.. You're so right..

  • 34 views... yea i'm sure santorum is definitely one of those viewers.
