X Factor are making it seem that it is easy to get into the music industry and its not, the contestants dont learn how to write music and lyrics, it is stupid. i want to be a musician and i get sooo annoyed because the judges brand the contestants as popstars and it is stupid, all they do is sing the production company do the rest. plus, there are more types of singers it is dreadful. and i swear the judged couldnt give fair comments and cant take that other people disagree!

Autotune still can´t compare to a naturally beautiful, well intonated voice. It makes the pitch "perfect" but it adds an unpleasant mechanical sound to the voice even when used sparingly. Sometimes it´s actually better to leave a slightly "pitchy" performance as it is rather than autotuning it. The A.T. often does more harm than good...

Using it to cover up vocals is an entirely different subject and covers the original vocals in a pop song to hide blandness in the vocals (or missing notes).

Thats wrong, autotune cannot make any old shit sound good. All it will do is correct the pitch of the note, it cannot however produce the natural resonance & harmonics etc of a human voice. If you were to sing with autotune it'd be blatant & sound robotic almost, if mariah carey was it'd be near impossible. As the person said ''it should be used on a 10 second note where in the middle the note may dip slightly''.

What ever happened to being able to hear the beauty of a good singing voice without computers getting in there and making it 'perfect'. If they banned autotune then nobody would ever want to listen to the artists currently playing on repeat on radio one. @gmfmusic85 i know, autotune isn't used in Cher's "Believe" until the end climaxes of the song, as Cher even stated, it was not originally intended to be in the song, that there was a fault added to the song, and that she would sue anyone or whatever who removed it because that autotune added that extra dance theme that would make it a hit, it had nothing to do with Cher's vocals. You get artists like Kesha using it to cover up their WEAK vocals...

They've put them high on a pedastal and if they decide that they dont want that person to go through the next round they cut the autotune and give them a bad song and let us hear how they actualy sing. They autotune ALL American music on the radio now, its awful...t really does take away from their voice ... Many of the artists, like Ke$ha...are truly tone deaf..autotune cannot save them 100% of the time, there are always those live performances!

This is appalling. Yet again ITV present viewers a 'faked' show. I thought Gamu sounded oddly processed on the night but couldn't believe they would fix the vocals. On viewing again it sounds like Owl City. ITV must intervene to ensure the shows are re-edited to remove autotune. They say the live finals will be 'live', but how can paying voters be sure of that without independent audit?

I still can't believe they used Autotune! Its wrong that we should have to vote for these autotuned voices with our OWN money! Pushing the acts through just so they can gain some money and get some "good" hits in the charts. "Good" meaning autotuned like every other artist. I hope they stop using it, because it's going to be awful on the live shows without it. The voices are going to sound "amazingly improved" and then they are going to sound worse, as if they have digressed with their talent!
