Some say Franco changes his guitar playing as time progressed but i absolutely disagree. Franco was at the center of this unit and it was through his creativity that TP OK survived that long . I can not imagine the music would have been this good without his influence especially his string playing his voice and the way he arranged the band. Songs like Mario and Mamou can never be copied to the same standard because he played in them although they sound simple enough they are not.
@Zappowx The song tells the story of who woman who does not want to find her own husband. She prefers married men and the song is warning that kind of women. This kind of stories never ends well. The title means : "Stop asking"
Abou you are in Kazakhstan? I just wonder how you got your hands on this national treasure from Congo? anyway do you plan to open a online shop? Frnco de mi-amor a genius a foe and a friend for many people.
I have listened to Tabu ley and other numerous Congolelese musicians and the way the words are pronounced do not sound as good as when Franco. With Franco you cannot help but stop and listen and whatever he says sounds so captivating that u sometimes just listen to the lyrics even though I do not understand 99% of it.
To j1981o: "Lukaka ya yo mobali ozua biso mpe tolinga ye oh dit e." find your own man/lover/boyfriend/fiancee so we can love/appreciate/admire/fancy him too, but you only like/love your friend's lovers/men you'll end up in trouble/sick.
About lingala language; one respected Nigerian pastor in London recently said that when our ancestors were building babylon tower the language used was similar to linguala. Not far from being the Afrika lingua.
Do you even stop to think about somethings you people say ?
When did Nigerian pastors respected or otherwise become authorities on languages and this ancestors building babylon tower , you cannot sound any crazier.
Well, it is also known that crazy people are not far from the truth as they don't have censorship anymore. We ahve to believe in something, even if it is crazy to you. I am sure you'll say that, Egypt civilisation was never black.
Lovely language, true. It is not lingua franca for the same reason that Hausa, Zulu, Sukuma or any of the numerous ethnic majority languages are not. Pick one and you exclude all others, a recipe for disaster
Great piece, could easily pass for a Tanzanian music probably by Mlimani Park or Msondo Ngoma, my opinion. Siddikh, are you sure you did not mislabel the song because I can hear the "Maestero" as the lead singer whom you do not mention in the profile? Just a thought.
By the way this is one of the few productions that you can prominently hear all the instruments involved.
Yes of course Franco is doing the lead vocal, I suppose I thought it as just too obvious to mention... By the way, YT has recently gone stereo, you might find many of my older postings will sound clearer now.
You are unbeleivable Saddikh, do you ever sleep? I am in the Western Hemsphere I thought you were in Europe which means you would be sleeping at this time of the day. Anyway, I hear "Lukaka" a lot which led me to believe that would be the title of the song. Or is it the title of perhaps the Album?
Great music, just listnening to the instruments and the presentation since I do not understand the theme.
tough music..i like it!!siddikh you know the unique Luambo..with real fillers.what is it talking about..''ndoki yakoyakosula mabeo...lukakayayo mobaliyozua misepoteyo lingayodiye ..''cool stuff!! but i have no idea what Luambo is talking about...sauti ya simba!!

Words are pronounced so cleanly that I see no reason why this language, Lingala should not be Africa's lingua franca!
