Every rocket that is fired, every gun that is built, every warship launched, represents, in a final sense, a theft from those who are hungry and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.
Half of all scientists today are employed by the war industries.
The money to construct that plane could have solved all of America's education shortcomings overnight.
Just to put it in perspective for you chest thumpers out there.
@tattat44 just gonna throw it out there for hippie--- I mean, Liberals and Progressives... the funding for the Department of Education bloats every year, while quality of education AND number of pupils does not change by any statistically significant amount.
Also,
seeing as how the bottom 30% if they do their taxes right actually MAKE money from the government, there is no 'theft' from the poor. The top in American pay by far the most tax to the 'evil war machine'
I wonder where you are getting that phrase "bloated" from, because for the past 11 years (as supported by the Dep of Ed's own budget which is available at their website), funding has been cut continuously.
The education crisis in America is only half the fault of funding shortages anyway. The other half is the outdated Prussian system of education that we use, No Child Left Behind, standardized testing, etc.
"seeing as how the bottom 30% if they do their taxes right actually MAKE money"
Wow, please explain to me in what way I've been filing my tax returns wrong all these years. I'd love to have the government pay ME come next April 15th.
The robbery from our society is not, as I have already explained, monetary.
Over half of all mechanical engineering degrees, chemists, electricians, etc. go into the "Defense" industry, which creates vastly overpriced contracts for its own benefit.
Well at least I get to see where some of my tax money goes! I'm glad it's on a SuperHornet and not on another one of our Globe Trotting Prime Minister's environmental junkets.
That is amazing, I'd feel bad for the guys if it gets blown up or crashes.
"Do you know how long we worked on that plane? How the hell did manage to crash that in a controlled training session? HOW? You gonna pay up for that coffee money now or later?"
Are you paying for it out of your pocket? If not, keep quiet. Some of us pay taxes as grownups. The f-18 is an amazing aircraft. No sense wasting my and other's taxes on a plane just because it is newer.
its ps3 boy and either way im going to pay taxes sooner or later its unavoidable... a full grown adult should know that. and its not wasting your money its improving wat we have now. we have f 22s because its an improvement from what we have now and the f 35 will be an improvement from what the fa 18 is. russia already has the su 35 which is better then the fa 18 in air superiority but the f 35 has a chance.
Nah, there are plenty of books around that give way better information. They don't show anything crucial on this video, no schematics, no closeups to anything that really matters. No performance data, nothing. It just basically shows how they're build, but only "shapes" of what they're building.
Let's see, if Australia buys both versions, it would be the AF/18-E/F??? So they have a digereedoo on the boombox on the aussie airframes? They should have bought the F-14s the USN junked and rebuilt them to replace their F-111 pigs. They they'd have a plane with the range/payload of an F-111 that could dogfight.
The F-14 wasn't exactly the most reliable plane either; replacing an F-111 with an F-14 is not an improvement. F-14 doesn't have the range of an F-111 and dogfighting today (Hollywood aside) isn't as important today as weapons delivery (bombing, anti-sat, etc). The F-18 was the loser YF-17 decades ago to the F-16; not sure why it became the F-14 replacement.
to slow i didnt like it

We can only begin to imagine how much work goes into more complex pieces of military equipment by watching this video.
Amazing.

I want to see an F-22 being built. Or a B-2 stealth bomber.
Now THAT would be complicated.

we need more f 22s and no more super hornet
IWIpartyhatIWI 2 years ago
The f-22 is an air superiority aircraft. The Super Hornet is for launching off of aircraft carriers. Grow up kid. Read up on wikipedia or something.
twntysevn27 2 years ago
ok but the f 35 could easily replae the fa 18 because it also laugh off aircraft carriers
IWIpartyhatIWI 2 years ago
Easily? You mean for billions and billions of dollars? Replacing what are already some of the best fighters on earth. Why fix what's not broken?
twntysevn27 2 years ago 2
they already have like 200 f 22s ready and more coming by the end of 2011 so why not do the same for the fa 18?

Hahaha well way to prove you know nothing. The f18 nor the f35 are air superiority planes you chimp. The f15 owns the su35 though. Good job.
