Normally they're preaching against a backdrop of bleach-white walls and horrible fluorescent lights. Look how nice this place here is though. I think God is a much better interior decorator than the pastor is. Maybe take a cue from God? Put some plants inside the physical church building back in Tempe. Paint the walls green and brown. Turn the fluorescents off or down (make the lighting indirect). Make it nice looking. Doesn't have to be pretentious or gaudy. Just nice.

Bringing plants inside (especially during the winter) is a practice that goes back at least as far as Pagan times, when they used to bring in some evergreen plant during the Winter Solstice (Dec 21st) to remind them of their connection to nature and that "The light" would soon return.

Arizona thunder storms can be brutal. I lived there for 2 years. I went camping up in flagstaff, Me thinking hey Arizona is hot during the summer. Well i only brought tee shirts jeans and shorts. I froze my butt off.
