  • most epic crowd "VANGUARD!!" ever?

  • Well hello there, breakbeat.

  • Y'know...I always thought Regiment had Scheherazade written all over it....but DAMN did SCV do a job with this program!!

  • Best Drumline in DCI History right there!!!!!!

  • 3 dislikes huh? Anyone got three sniper bullets I can borrow???

  • man o man i remember seeing them live it was remarkable

  • holy shit this was their best show ever on the new millennium then.... meh i marched corps solely cause i saw this show in person fucking amazing

  • rotten.

  • Comment removed

  • omg i saw this my junior year in hs. to this day in still BLOWN WAY!!!

    :p

    GO SCV!!!!

  • im happy that our bands drill writer is the same guy that wrote this shows drill and all the other SCV drills before it

he's writing PR's drill next year, cant wait to see it :D woo Myron Rosander..

  • where can i see the whole preformance?

  • this is my favorite scv show of all time!!!

  • the pit is going crazy for the first bit... thats insane.. its non stop runs

  • 0:13 krackus?

  • Absolutely LOVE the drum break!

  • ooo dangggggg that brass at 1:20

  • This was my freshman year of high school, and i fell in love with SCV for this show! Unfourtunatly the next few show wernt as good. But they are still Badd Ass

  • Thanks, Mikey. <3

  • What High School is this? They're really good!

  • Fail.

  • are they a high school!?

  • wow

    no

  • no its this thing called a drumcorps da

  • Can't believe nobody has given you the Word yet about the legendary Santa Clara Vanguard...

    High school?!! Ha!

Check the other videos, look up "Santa Clara Vanguard", "Blue Devils", "Cavaliers", "Phantom Regiment", "Drum Corps International", "DCI", etc, and be prepared for a wild ride.

Welcome to Drum Corps: home of outdoor music's big guns.

  • Fail again. Dude, FUCK Travis Barker!

  • Yeah, I don't understand. I did however notice the difference between the Santa Clara Vanguard and a high school. Did you know these guys won drums that year? Go find the video of Travis Barker hacking on a marching snare. It's a gas.

  • 19.75 was their score, just adding

  • I like the way you resort to insulting him because you have no argument.

  • See, if you took the time to maybe view my profile you could clearly see I have an Idea of what I'm doing. You on the other handthinkTravis Barker is better then the BlueDevils. Even as someone who hates BD, I must say, your dumb.

  • I'm sure, I forgot your quality was going to be good using Hybrids on a quadropad. Pardon me. Oh, and I didn't rush those flam accents, maybe you should really try again. With that being said, I moved around the drums fluently, please explain to me how I did'nt?

And please explain what the magical taps I'm missing are?

As far as I have seen, Travis can not kick my ass, I have yet to see any proof of that. He plays a "boom boom tiss" and backsticking pattern, that's it.

  • HAHAHAHAHA thats the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Its like youre comparing two things that have nothing to do with one another. You should learn a thing or two before you make outrageous posts.

  • 2:23-2:22 best drill ever

  • are u watching this backwards??

  • You gotta love that Myron. Man, I haven't seena nything like this since.

  • SCV was screwed out of 2nd place this particular year. I think even Cavies fans' will admit that "Spin Cycle" was "fruity" (you all know what I mean) the show was executed well but it lacked substance. I was shocked That SCV did not surge past them finals weekend.

  • The Cavaliers show in 04 was 007...Spin Cycle was 03...

  • @Caviedrummer I thought Frameworks was 2003?

  • Nope. Frameworks was the 2002 show. Spin Cycle was 2003

  • And what do you mean by "fruity?"

  • yeah dude... get your years straight, it's 04' not 03'... and there is NO WAY this show could have beaten 007.. just noo way! oh yeah and Spin Cycle was awesome!

  • Cavie Drummer is right. 007 was 2004

  • RugieroD's comment is full of failure.

  • Cool this video was sent in 2005!!

  • There shows are so hard...by the end of the season its like....wow

  • holy marching.

    that was amazing.

  • without fail everytime i hear i crowd yell VANGUARD!!! instant smile. everytime.

  • "the crowd" lol

  • 4 words: tits in the mouth

  • lol chudigadut

  • Im not an Vanguard fan myself, I have a slight dislike of them. Im in a front ensemble and I have to say that I absolutely love the runs and the drumline itself was fantastic. One of my favorite Vanguard shows. Im still a BD guy though.

  • favorite scv show after phantom of the opera

  • no offense to cavies, but SCV shoulda had it that year. this was a more enjoyable show than 007. but thats my opinion.

  • 04 scv line is unreal!

  • agreed! :-)

  • I mean it's just intense

all the dci shows I've gone too, mostly early in the season, you don't see that much

  • my colorguard director was in this she is the main person at the end !!!

  • 3rd place!!! Blue devils was 4th place.

  • Nope. Blue Devils got 2nd.

  • wat place did they get this year?

  • wow

that crowd vocal was intense at 1:14

other corps rooting them on?? or what??

  • Sherezade (srry i cant spell) i love this show!!

  • They definitely got robbed of 2nd by BD, and maybe even 1st by Cavies. That drumline is hot. Maybe one of the better ones ever. BD and Cavies had great drumlines that year too. Good year for drums. Fun show to watch. Very effective visually, it was retro and new at the same time. 007 had sweet drill too though.

  • Well they did win best drums, since that seems to be your main complaint. But drums alone don't win a show (as much as I absolutely love this show)

  • i love you scherazade

  • such a good show!!!!!!! love SCV!!!

  • does anybody have the music for this break?? ive looked all over the net.

  • I think they should have ended it at the big chord rather than going on. it would have been a much better ending if it ended at 2:37

  • um, excuse me?

    BD's show sucked that year?

would you like to borrow some contacts?

  • I was kind of bored with Summer Train Blues Mix. Especially visually. Hornline was ok. SCV did have much more emotion to their show. Maybe more than Cavies did that year. Cavies just acted badass that year. And in all fairness, they were.

  • BD's hornline was fantastic... hence the perfect 20 in finals.

visually, it was less appealing than Vanguard, but BD marched like Gods... they have the best marching technique in DCI by a long shot.

  • BD's hornline was fantastic... hence the perfect 20 in finals.

visually, it was less appealing than Vanguard, but BD marched like Gods... they have the best marching technique in DCI by a long shot.

  • If you wanna talk about a perfect hornline, let's talk 1991 Star of Indiana or 1985 Suncoast Sound. My personal opinion is that no hornline could touch them. And a perfect is score is all subjective. Those two deserved perfect score, but again, all subjective.

  • hmmm, I think Star's 93 hornline was better than 91, and BD's show wasn't that bad, the ending wasn't that bad, SCV was good, but if you really watch BD's, you'll see how clean it is... :D

  • they should have, this show was amazing.

BD's(2nd) show sucked ass this year.

Cavies(1st) was good and all, but Santa Clara's show just had way more emotion.

Percussion got first though, that was bad ass

  • Did they win?

  • WOW, Just amazing... ^O^

  • greatest drumbreak ever

  • how did they not win finals!?!?

  • they diddn't win finals cause cavies had a sick ass show too wait cavies did win that year right lol... i love this show one of the high schools in our city did that show but i think they cut out this part because it was too hard or somthing so yea idk but this show is sick but not as sick as cavies

  • This show is the, in my opinion, the best SCV show of the new millenium (sorry if I spelled that incorrectly). "Schaherezade" was awesome! You can see the entire show on google video you know.

  • you know if you are looking for the full show it is posted on Santa Clara Vanguard's MySpace page, look it up, it also has 1999 SVC tied/winning show

  • can someone please post the whole vid up...please :)

  • and btw, if anyone tries to say that there is a show that made its members look more bad ass then this one. they dont know shit about drumcorps (spare frameworks)

  • i think Faust over took this show as far as making their members look bad ass

  • i love to watch this clip! SCV is just so amazing here! i wish i could have seen it live, because videos do no justice.

  • In my opinion, the epitome of making the members look badass would have to be 1999 SCV. Neither Scheherazade nor Faust can top that.

  • Absolutely, SCV '99 is Top 5 maybe even Top 3 DCI show all time IMO. I have always been a SCV fan, and as much as I love this musical production and as much as I accuse the judges of slotting from year to year (especially 2008!) I think the judges did a great job judging in 2004. 007 was just THAT good. If only they had performed this show in 2001.... ( I very much disliked Four Corners)

  • i loved this show. one of the best of all time, by far!

  • gotta love marching cymbals.

  • ... and this show is also my best argument against going back to "old-school" color guard. Totally hot. More, more! Whoo-ha!

  • i wish i could have seen this live!! LOVE

  • hkb

  • Great show, but their drill was a little wonky.

  • best vanguard show ever

  • ha, they used that tenor lick at about 26 seconds in their 2005 tenor ensemble

  • they shoulda at least got second...

  • SCV was robbed that year.

  • VAAAAAAANGUAAAAAARD!

  • I think my Guard instructor is in this video...he was in SCV

  • pretty funny to read people with 3-4 years of watching corps refer to something as "classic." Watch some tape of the Vanguard from the 70's before you talk about "classic."

  • SCV 2004 goes down in my book as one of the best corps, especially drumline. It's a shame both Casella and Murray left, SCV just doesn't seem quite the same.

  • yaya. sitting on the 50 of this performance.

  • I don't know where they placed that year but that was incredible...classic SCV...they seldom disappoint

  • that's a fricking sweet closing move right there, best i've ever seen... except maybe 02 cavies

  • duuude, i remember going to see this back in 04!!! that was my junior year in high school!!

  • SCV was rockin' that year, jesus.

  • who has the full vid of 04, i cant find it any where!

  • dude sweet

  • They did revert from match to traditional for 2006, though. The pit is too loud here, but I kinda forgive them, since 2004 was the first year with amplified pit. That ripple part is so cool. A nice new twist on company front.

  • the 2004 SCV was by far the most badass corp ever. The director for their drumline left after this year, so in 2005, the drumline played match, which was totally gay. In comparison to the 2004 year, the 2005 year sucked

  • THANKS DUDRE FOR POSTING THIS I LOVE YA RIGHT NOW GO DCI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • their pit is great but good god they are TOO LOUD in this video!

  • Crazy!

  • this was definitely my favorite scv drum feature ever,,,

  • DUDE I LOVE SCVs CYMBAL LINE KID!!!!!
