Though I should also note that I showed this video to someone who was a kid in the 50s and remembers when this film first came out, and she didn't see it as racist like I did and perceived the cats to be graceful and cute. She also said that cartoons we now consider to be racially insensitive were on TV all the time in the 50s and into the 60s and people just didn't give a thought about racial sensitivity at the time.

I have a Siamese cat who was given to me when he was a year old by my Russian neighbor and his name is Sasha, and he is so much like these two cats it's funny. He behaves much like them. Always into something, and trying to find little snacks everywhere. Siamese cats are people cats. They love attention, and will practically glue themselves to you if they like you. I love this video, and the song. My oldest daughter used to think that they were so naughty when she was little. Love em!

First of all, those cats ARE NOT speaking in a Thai accent, that is very much a South Asian accent, not SE Asian. Secondly, considering the time the movie was made, the faltering international relationship between Thailand and America, and the need for a villain, I have no doubt that there were misunderstandings about Thai culture and Thai cats when this movie was produced. I don't think this song is racist, but more ignorant than anything else.
