Of all the big masterpieces Toscanini conducted, he did have as spot for this and did it well. Was recorded on an original RCA. Its got that Italiano zip in it.
@DoninWhiting It also has a special place in pop music history. When Elton John was around four, his mother put him on the piano bench, so she could clean house. This song was on the radio, and Elton tinkered around with the keys until he played the melody for his mother, who was stunned at his natural talent. Elton later joked, "Good thing the radio wasn't playing `Flight of the Bubble Bee.'"
My school orchestra's playing this for the concert this Saturday, but we always mess up at 5:44 :( Also, the fact that we're a string orchestra doesn't help. Well, wish us luck!
I swear it was Mario 64, because I never had NES ("Nintendo NES" is redundant by the way). I'm not trying to start a stupid argument with you. I'm just saying I have a really good memory and I think it was Mario 64. I don't know how I could play Mario 64 again to find that out for sure though. I had an emulator on my computer, but I can't find it now.
Thanks! I'm in Burlington, VT (USA) and we had our first winter snow fall today, so I'm glad to find this piece for today! It's also Emile Waldteufel's birthday!

I shed tears of joy. It's been a damn long time since I played Antarctic Adventure (and since I lost my CD containing this song, too).

What year was this recorded, what orchestra performed it and who conducted them? Thanks for the information.

@phaota I'd also like the information about this recording! It's very good quality.

The Skater's Waltz is one of the pronouns of all waltzes played throughout the world. It gives me an image of lovely skaters on the rink.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
for some reason, the tempo sounds too slow before 1:00, then it hits the right tempo the rest of the way

I agree tho. But this way,it kinda seems like a intro into the surrounding of the skating ring(kinda snowy at night feel)
Then somehow the focus goes off to the sky ,then after the pause, focus on the skaters.
