  • Of all the big masterpieces Toscanini conducted, he did have as spot for this and did it well. Was recorded on an original RCA. Its got that Italiano zip in it.

  • @DoninWhiting It also has a special place in pop music history. When Elton John was around four, his mother put him on the piano bench, so she could clean house. This song was on the radio, and Elton tinkered around with the keys until he played the melody for his mother, who was stunned at his natural talent. Elton later joked, "Good thing the radio wasn't playing `Flight of the Bubble Bee.'"

  • Outstanding!

  • Beautiful!!

  • My school orchestra's playing this for the concert this Saturday, but we always mess up at 5:44 :( Also, the fact that we're a string orchestra doesn't help. Well, wish us luck!

  • I shed tears of joy. It's been a damn long time since I played Antarctic Adventure (and since I lost my CD containing this song, too).

  • What year was this recorded, what orchestra performed it and who conducted them? Thanks for the information.

  • @phaota I'd also like the information about this recording! It's very good quality.

  • And so the penguin begins his adventure ^_^

  • antarctic adventure!!!! xDDDDDD

  • This music is waldteurfel!

  • Heck yeah!

  • Just love this... It really brings joy. This piece is another proof that music is universal.

  • This reminds me of antarctic Adventure the good old days....

  • The part that starts at 5:15 always reminds me of Mario 64.

  • it was used in a Nintendo NES game wish I know what was that game

  • I swear it was Mario 64, because I never had NES ("Nintendo NES" is redundant by the way). I'm not trying to start a stupid argument with you. I'm just saying I have a really good memory and I think it was Mario 64. I don't know how I could play Mario 64 again to find that out for sure though. I had an emulator on my computer, but I can't find it now.

  • Oh did not mean you are wrong, actually I never played N64 still I remember well it was on a NES game, don't have any idea what was that.

the ROM file is available if you google :)

  • It's okay. This doesn't matter anyway. Peace out.

  • @awefhiwefiuwafiuhai actually, all the music waws written by koji Kondo, all original music. it reminds me of the Yule Ball scene in Harry Potter too

  • @natesquared

You know I never knew Koji made the music for Zelda AND Mario?

  • The Skater's Waltz is one of the pronouns of all waltzes played throughout the world. It gives me an image of lovely skaters on the rink.

  • Thanks for posting it, it's excellent, but - who directed this rendition?

  • This one really capture and defines the feeling of beauty of the winter and the moment the ice rink ready for skating and watching.

  • Thanks! I'm in Burlington, VT (USA) and we had our first winter snow fall today, so I'm glad to find this piece for today! It's also Emile Waldteufel's birthday!

  • Chills down my spine, thank you very much.

  • I agree tho. But this way,it kinda seems like a intro into the surrounding of the skating ring(kinda snowy at night feel)

Then somehow the focus goes off to the sky ,then after the pause, focus on the skaters.

  • it is called an introduction

  • When i started learning keyboard,

first song that helped me through =)

  • first hearing this from antarctic adventure..

    now hearing it orchestrated.

    beautiful.

  • Fabulous!

  • great ballet piece

  • Beautiful!

  • LOVELY!!

  • Thanks for posting! Who plays - who conducts? Would be happy for that info.

  • My favorite part begins at 2:50

  • This symbolizes numerous waltzes played around the world now. I love this

lovely piece of music. Thank you for uploading.

  • haha. antarctica adventure. penguin

  • i love the lively part of the song =D

  • I love this piece! Especially when the horn carries out the tune!
