THE 24 had twin vickers mounted like the camel. Most if not all N28's had a single vickers ahead of pilot and one to the left lower side of pilot. The 24 was a big improvement over the 11, and a bit more powerful than the 17. Had same flight characteristics as the 17 but a bit more rugged. Still capable of breaking/tearing things .The 28 was built better but heavier and less maneuverable than the 24.
A question or two, if I may. I'm unfamiliar with the Nieuport 24; did it mount a Lewis on the upper wing like its predecessors or a deck-mount? I believe the N-28 was the first to mount twin Vickers MGs on the deck; am I wrong on that? Finally, did the N-24 have the infamous Neiuport characteristic of shedding its fabric during hard maneuvers. Thanx for your time and info.
