@DreadfulControversy Adobe After Effects handled the visuals, iMovie only cut the shots together. iMovie was only used on thi video as I was in the middle of changing from Adobe Premiere Pro to Apple Final Cut Pro

Yes I know what you mean, the balls should wiggle around abit. What you got to remember is this was made in just 5 days, so adding realism to these effects was limited. For the best effects it takes time and patience, something we didn't have for this Short

No you can use Apple Motion or Adobe After Effects for that sorta stuff. Final cut is just to put the film strip toggether!

Motion comes with Final Cut Studio 2, you can't get it stand alone. I'm not sure what else you could use, either Motion or After Effects from Adobe, but both are very expensive.

Hm, some part were very well done, while others looked to "fake" or "added-on". If you remake this, you should make the orbs "bob" or make their movement more lifelike versus machine-like. The face at the end was very well done though. Made me jump.

I know some effects don't look real but you have to remember, this was for a competition and I had 1 week to make this. With a broken computer that was crashing every 30 minutes. I filmed in 1 day. Did the effects in 3 days! Edited the filmstripp in 1 day, did the sound effects in 1 day then uploaded on the 7th day.

Windows Movie Maker can edit filmstrip... but there's not much around for effects. You always have to pay for decent software.

There's iMovie on the mac for edits, part of iLife, should of come free with your Mac.

For the new guys yes, but for professionals, we buy the very high end expensive software, in After effects you make everything yourself, nothing is generated, this is the professional way!

Adobe After Effects costs £800 but you can torrent it, it is illegal though and you can get caught! So be careful if you take that road!

Hey how exactly does that work, do you use a greenscreen, and then for instance take a picture of your back yard, and then cut and paste that, and enter the effects on the computer that way?? I think this stuff is amazing , i would like to get the gear needed to do these types of things

Nope, all filmed on set, no greenscreen, simple Mini Dv Camera. Not hard to do...

Yes Adobe CS3 Master Collection, I now use Final Cut Studio 2 aswell as Adode After Effects CS3!
